  1. I always crack up when my mounted units gallop in circles like five times before landing a killing blow. I don't know if it's supposed to do that but it does it pretty consistently and is ridiculous looking. Also, killing people with the Carp Streamer. It's just so non-lethal looking.
  2. No idea. And typically speaking, if you don't know the very basics of how to take care of something, you probably shouldn't be taking care of that particular thing.
  3. I see. Well, they definitely shouldn't have won. I honestly believe that he's a guilty piece of trash, but the prosecution didn't meet their burden of proof by a long shot. It would have been far less of a controversy if the prosecution had acted like they'd done this before, but I don't doubt he'd have been acquitted either way.
  4. The Crown fucked up bad though. Their "attempt" at doing their job was half-assed at best, and against a sledgehammer like Henien on a rape case no less! Which are stupidly hard to prove. Anyone paying attention to this thing can see that they did a poor job through and through, and people have a right to criticize that. Don't get me wrong, there was no chance in hell Ghomeshi was going to lose this, but that doesn't change the fact that the Crown handled this very poorly. What truly bothers me though is that people are using this shitfest as a crusade against women who make these claims. The judge even said "We need to fight the stereotype that all sexual assault complaints are truthful." except that's not the stereotype at all. Rape and assault are, well, criminally under reported as it is because of how hard it is to prove and how much it further damages the victims. Some women do file false claims and that is infuriating to me on a level I can't accurately express, but it's hardly the "stereotype". This is only going to make the incredible uphill battle for rape victims even more insurmountable. And I don't blame these women for that either. Just as we're told to treat people innocent before proven guilty, I think it's worth considering that acquittal doesn't necessarily mean innocence. Especially not in cases like this. Especially when the prosecutions case was so shoddily handled.
  5. Yeah, I saw Perfect Blue a few years ago and as bat shit insane as I originally found it, It's kind of a work of art. I wouldn't call the entire experience creepy, but it's definitely meant to be evocative. The psychological aspects and the grim look into idol culture is pretty, well, grim. The faux rape scene was probably the only part I found genuinely disturbing though, even in its given context.
  6. Probably a tie between Birdy the mighty and Spice and Wolf. Spice and Wolf does everything so right for me, and is so different than any other anime I've seen (which, admittedly, isn't a whole lot). Birdy isn't perfect but it's a whole lot of fun.
  7. Pretty much this. I very much enjoy Princess Mononoke and The Secret World of Arietty though. To be fair, i don't think there's a Ghibli film I dislike.
  8. This basically sums up what's wrong with the way the three games' stories were handled in general; Flora's barbecue routine is just a small part of the problematic whole.
  9. Heeeeey, I recognize her! I got skills from you! And ground out a ton of support points in your castle. You are a treasure. I haven't seen any of my units or my avatar anywhere else, but I haven't really looked either.

  11. Savyna is probably my least used character for exactly that reason. Girlfriend is quick. And I always thought is was a shame about the sequel/prequel. It's a very good game that freakin' no one ever got to play. Personally, I liked the first games deck and battle system better, but ideally I would want a mix of the two-- too bad that will never happen ): If Origins had got around a bit (a lot) more, I think we could have easily had a third game, because Origins was really slick and well done, improving and building on everything the first game gave us.
  12. I really like what everyone is wearing, but the kids all look a little. . . off? I mean, maybe I'm just not used to seeing them all with dark hair or something. I think the beach CG's looked much better, but I dunno.
  13. Haha, I have that game too. So I knew only a little about it before buying it at gamestop; I knew it was fanservice-y and very, uh, "anime" in its premise, but I like dungeon crawlers and thought the battles looked fun. So I bring it to the counter and the dude is staring hard at the game like it was a wild animal or something and he goes, "Uh, hey, how about you buy a used version? You can get your money back that way." That was a warning sign. I just said, "Sure!" and didn't really get the hint he was dropping. So fast forward and I'm looking at the file names on my copy and that dude totally sold me his own game, over fifty hours of playtime! He knew. But yeah, it's some weird shit, but it's all just implied and sort of hilarious in it's own way. The thing I'm most upset about is how un-fun the actual dungeons and battles actually are.
  14. Typically speaking, I dislike them. I like a few of their personalities and designs, but I'm not in love. And I don't think they add more than they hurt. Word to Velour for helping me out in Conquest, though! I'd really like to see the "new" IS team do a game without eugenics and see how well they do.
  15. As soon as i saw Q I was like, "Oh hey, Quark is here, too?" because they're both Q's, have weird junk on their head and are little kids. But Quark being there doesn't make any sense so. . . I dunno. But the letter "q" has always been important in the series so I'm watching him (her?) too. Shady.
  16. I'm pretty new here so I haven't done anything shameful yet. But I got started on the internet quite young so I've made a complete ass of myself far more times than I can count. There are place I cannot return to. Literally. I was banned. The same is slightly true to real life as well; I was such a terrible kid/teen. I'd like to think I've become a much more thoughtful person who has learned from my mistakes, but there are plenty of people out there who will only know me as the asshole they knew when we were younger.
  17. What is this even? How. . . but. . . what? I don't-- I don't understand. Who let this happen!? How did anyone think that was better than just no voice acting at all?
  18. I would love to see these for all the captured bosses.
  19. Oh Jusis <3 Like, you know he's going to get defrosted as the game goes on and what's revealed about him really isn't groundbreaking, but how the game presents it to you really pulls on the heartstrings. And I always liked Gaius because spears, but meeting his awesome family really bumped him up the list of favorites. And it's not even anything sad, he's just the only one with a totally normal, loving family with no drama or angst about it at all and it's heartwarming to me.
  20. Oh man, I just started playing this a little while back and like. . . I really enjoy it from a gameplay stance, but that acting. Good god. I usually don't mind that sort of thing (I mentioned earlier how I enjoy how bad Baten Kaitos' voice acting is), but wow. That was some next level shit. I just turned the volume down and enjoyed myself. Honestly a good game, though.
  21. Ohhhh, I can think of a few. - Gaius/Slurpuff - Tharja/Mismagius - I can see Soren with a Sigilyph - Tormod could have a Pyroar (Since he's a fire mage who fights for the Cat/Tiger Laguz) - Micaiah could have a Swanna due to her <spoiler>Swan blood passed from Lehran.</spoiler> - Anna/Persian - Cherche/Salamence - I second that Henry could have a Honchkrow - Lucina could have some kind of butterfly like Butterfree or Vivillon - Corrin would obviously end up with Dialga eventually since I'm pretty sure they're cousins or something - Azura would need a graceful water Pokemon like Milotic - Kaze/Sycther - Shura/Pangoro - Elise/Gothitelle - Nyx I can see with a Banette - Camilla/Hydreigon - Benny's best friends are bears so he can have an Ursaring - Flora/Froslass - Forrest could have a Leavanny to help him make clothes - Ignatius deserves a Shedinja since he's afraid of bugs and ghosts - Ophelia/Carbink - Rinkah/Darmanitan - Sakura/Cherubi - Hana/Sawsbuck - Orochi/Arbok - Ryoma/Crawdaunt, naturally Don't know about enemy units, but I know there would be Ninjask everywhere.
  22. I always assumed that Silas and Kaze were Corrin's retainers and that the maids and butlers were just. . . maids and butlers.
  23. HNG. THE HYPE. I FEEL IT. Seriously, I'm so looking forward to this. I am objectively terrible at the series, but I just can't stay away. And I love the new art direction! Our old friends are lookin' good up there. I have no specific hopes for the game, since they always out-do my expectations, but I'm really glad they're keeping the game dark. VLR was great, better than 999, but it lacked a certain sense of dread and horror that I thought the first game did so well. I'd love to see the series go back to that feel.
  24. Like, I don't know what this says about me but I was literally weeping through the last two hours of the game. The feelings were real. To be fair, it was a weird day for me. . . but still, it's just a really engaging game. The way they handled the field studies also forced me to get to know and like members of Class VII that I probably wouldn't have otherwise.
  25. Can't. . . resist. . . peer-pressure. . . ! Although ten bucks is a great deal. Sold!
