Oh, it makes perfect sense now.
[spoiler=Theory?]
All of the orphans Eremiya cared for died in a preventable way. So of course she would want to try to change that, any way she could. So I'm guessing when she started caring for more orphans she was much more cautious and still grieving. She had most likely implaced many more rules to try to keep track of all of the children and keep them absolutely safe so that there are no more casulties. And that's when Gharnef approached her with an offer or something, to make her orphans invincible. She maintained the idea that she could keep the children safe if they followed her rules.
That parental control got so twisted by Gharnef that it became something like 'if you don't follow my rules you're 'worthless'' (dead, most likely, from her original memories, so her anger at those who disobey her is most likely a manifestation of her grief from the first batch of orphans deaths), which led to the puppet deal because she felt she had to control them.
Now the last thing about Eremiya's want to instill fear in people is probably just more manifestation of the grief she felt when her orphanage burned down, probably as her inner feelings are attempting to make the world understand her pain. The assasin thing also probably stems from this.
I'm impressed, Nintendo. I didn't think they had it in 'em for a remake.
Poor Eremiya. They shoud've had a CG of her infront of the burning orphanage, or maybe smiling as the orphans were tortured.
Anyway, I'm going to pull an 'unclear event' card - 'Well her picture just disappeared they really didn't really say she died she probably just passed out' - and go on believeing that. After the battle I'll come back for her.
And dang, imagining Maria and Lena being hounded down by those creeps...

I nominate Best/Worst text sound. I'm so glad FE12 fixed it, for the most part.
-
Best: FE8. FE9&10 runner ups.
Worst: Wow, there's so many to choose from. FE 2.

I think I'm starting to dislike MU's flat personality. w00t for Dolph and eating.
Keep up the great work! *Waits for Ch 20x*

Yoink Elice.

I thought that
Dimentio specifically teleported them to the Underwhere, so their sins had nothing to do with it. I may be wrong, it's been a while since I've splayed SPM.
Yeah, I thought about that, but I don't think their sins were completely out of the picture, as Bowser ends up in a cage and Peach in the Overthere.
That's probably what Nintendo would like for us to think.
-
I didn't think you were referrencing the way he died, but where he went when he died. In Super Paper Mario, he, Luigi, Bowser, and Peach are all 'killed', and the first three land in a place called the 'Underwhere', which is essentially game hell. Peach lands in the 'Overthere'.
Anyway, my therory is that Mario is a jerk who lets superstardom go to his head so he snubs his brother (which makes Luigi want revenge, adversely sending him to hell too) and ruthlessly destroys poor goombas etc, making him unfit for heaven.

Yikes, so many dead! Lunatic mode is exponentially harder when you want a perfect playthrough (or as close to it as Lunatic allows). My head still hurts just thinking about it.
I'm surprised Linde survived that long with that defense.
Just an epiphany - this might be why Casual mode exists now.

I just wish that the animations would match up more for the character. We have artwork of characters like Norne and Athena, and Norne's wearing some kind of green thing in game while in her artwork she's decked out in pink. And Athena's hair is brown in her animations. Everyone being a standard height/build in the class also annoys me.
The on the field sprites are also alittle annoying, mostly with Pegasus' Knights hair being green. Especially when the first Pegasus Knight is Caeda.
F.Swordmasters are blonde, etc.
It definetly leaves much to the imagination.

So the fact that Gaiden is a NES game, as such involving many recolors or limited dialogue as Dark Dragon and the Sword of Light has nothing to do with it...? As for the point, well, that was the choice they made for his story. Not everyone has to like how a story goes, true, but not bash against it either for personal opinions.
That's part of the point. Nyna and Caekus have very unique profiles in that they are the only characters to have a clear cut profile, and in Gaiden Caekus and Teeta are the only ones. It's symbolism, amongst many other things.
And yeah, I didn't mention the dialogue at all, so that has nothing to do with it.
I'm not bashing the story, I'm merely stating my opinion. Are we not allowed to discuss storyline as we discuss characters and stats?
-
That's a pretty big leap to take considering Teeta gets like 4 lines and they're all OH NO WE MUST SAVE ZEKE HE DOESNT KNOW IM SAVED AND HATES THE WAR.
Exactly! I hate Nintendo for it. They use a friggin' Nyna face edit to wreck Nyna's one chance at happiness. What was the point of that? The ending of how Marth rules the world may be a factor, but it's a weak reason - Nyna is rather ill-fitted to rule anyway - she would've most likely ran away with Caekus instead of continuing with Akaneia.
-
I think it might be nice to have even more Samson/Arran choices, possibly in unit customization, and perhaps an extra where boards can be designed for wifi, etc.
-
Anyone have a picture of the characters for the Mediocre staff? I can't get one.
-
Didn't like anyone from FE6
Kent
Amelia when leveled
Astrid
Fiona
Abel
Cecil
I value personality.

Speed. Everyone knows about the whole 'balance' thing, but speed directly affects both Attack speed and evasion, and not getting hit at all is always better than taking little damage.
-
Alright, started. Prologue went smoothly, Marth took down everything. Knights were killed by Jiol's force.

Chapter 2 - 6
Chapter 3 - 8

Nice Maiden strategy! If only they all had an A in staves.
Poor Lena. Wait a minute, did you forget the others or did they get KIA?
-
I'll take Beck.
I'm really running out of units I want, so I think I'll start now. Sorry, non-draftees.
-
Is the Rescue staff removed from Lunatic as well as the Warp?
-
What happened to chapter 20x? And yowch, Marth's defense... And your KIA list just keeps getting better and better.
On to the final chapter!
-
I nominate Best/Worst Theme of 'trouble'. There's atleast one overused one in every game.
-
I'll take Xane.
-
I think its because she's basically Nyna without the possible political turmoil. Ever notice how they look exactly alike and even act similar?
Yeah, I noticed that. I just don't like how she has a carbon copy.

Best: FE12 Marth (Shield of Seals just broke him!)
Worst: FE9 Ena. Just......ugh.
Edit: Oh, right..
What do Manaketes eat?
in General Fire Emblem
Posted
Just curious, anyone know that the manaketes eat? Not much on a reference there, more is known about the laguz habits (while some did eat people (Pt 1 Ch 4) for the most part they hunt animals and eat a boatload of food) so what about the manaketes?
