  1. Technically all buffs last one more turn than what they say because the buff counter ticks off by one at the end of the turn. So taunt technically last five turns and since auto-taunt doesn't take up a turn to activate it you get to see the full amount. Auto-taunt caps out at a 50% chance to activate at level 4. With it being at 15, 25 and 35% at levels 1, 2 and 3 respectively. Also do NOT invest in speed boost for your dancer. It is bugged and won't give you any evasion boost. Fan dance is completely fine though.
  2. I'm totally going to run Princess/Shogun in all my EO3 playthroughs now.
  3. You mean if he showed up. If fiends come back I want them to get rid of the 1/256 spawn rate. Let me have one guaranteed fight with them. A part of me doesn't believe Chemtrail exist.
  4. Yeah mirror shield is horrible. A lot of deaths were cause by it. The funny thing is you can get the Blizzard King to kill itself through curse damage with a Level 1 Beast. It's the only dragon that can be inflicted with curse so it's the perfect revenge for causing deaths through counter. You can also get his conditional this way as well.
  5. Goodnight 31F DLC boss, now Story mode is completely finished. I really like how they designed the superbosses in this game. They seem scary at first because of their high HP but the battle is designed so that you don't really notice the high HP. Then again if you cheese the fight the high HP is a big barrier for you to plan around. A big step up to EOU's superboss where that felt like a big HP sponge unless you cheese the fight in 3-5 turns.
  6. Yeah Burst Shot is THE Gunner move to get. With Point Blank milking all of Burst Shot's damage. The charged elements are there to use while Burst Shot's on cooldown. Ailing slash's damage will probably drop down later on because it scales off both Strength and Tec and Dark Hunter's Tec is poop so Soul Liberate is still a good skill to keep. I've hit 6th stratum with my Perfect Chase team. Perfect Chase was actually a lot better than I thought it would be and it made for a very fun playthrough except when I got ambushed by a billion shiny mandrakes. I'm unsure if I'm going to continue with this party. Might play up to the super boss but I also don't want to map 6th stratum again. I also want to play with the other classes in the game(I have 4 other classic files for the rest of the classes/combos that I want to use... Maybe I should stop playing this game).
  7. Troubadour is one of the best classes in the game. 1.5x attack multiplier from Force Break, plus elemental Preludes and Fantasias not getting hampered by the diminishing effect as well as normal buffs/debuffs you can do almost 3 times more damage in a single turn. Fantastic for burst parties. And full party buffs are always a nice thing. I can see a Sword DH running without a Hexer just fine. Whip DH's DPS is all on an enemy with multiple binds so you kinda need party support to put them to their full potential. Your planned party seems fine, go Sword DH for Drain Bite because you'll need to heal the Beast or slap Chase heal on the Troubadour or Hexer.
  8. http://i.imgur.com/sf9ELRO.png This has a level 8 Barrier in it. In other news I passed the 23F in classic, wanted to grab a conditional for my Ronin but my party isn't built to leg bind or slap any kind of aliment/bind. I'll have to make a Hexer later.
  9. The damage you deal for the first Bel fight is calculated by level, not strength. So there's no penalty to go magic. Magic in Overclocked is powerful because it acts as magic attack and magic defense, not to mention the plethora of magic skills. Physical is generally not recommended because there's a lack of physical skills to go around early game and Atsuro exist all the time. Yuzu's magic nuke though. And you get her at the beginning of the game.
  10. Penetrator does work on non-gun skills. I slapped it on Flavio during my Story mode run so I could have multi target aliments... kinda. The funny thing is that if you have Penetrator and a skill that pierces like Burst Shot or a Charged Element Shot, enemies in the back row take more damage. I fought the 31F DLC boss and got it to half it's health. The fight was going pretty well until something I didn't anticipate happened. Then I died. The 30F fight seemed more intense though, maybe it's because I'm Level 99/99 as opposed to Level 97-99 with no retiring. Maybe I'll try fighting it without retiring one day.
  11. I don't think Dinogators were ever stronger than the post game boss, it's just that you could run into them unprepared in original Etrian 2. Running into an enemy with boss stats in a random encounter was nightmare inducing. As for EO2U... I'll keep that as a secret~
  12. Etrian 2 in general was pretty mean about gathering ambushes. They'd spawn enemies from the final floor of the stratum and the 6th stratum had a chance to spawn two Dinogators. This made it incredibly annoying to finish the weapon compedium in EO2 if you were masochistic enough.
  13. The Highlander's force boost can help out with healing in your party, it recovers 25% of the damage the Highlander deals. And if your Dark Hunter is going sword route then they can heal the front row with Drain Bite. Funny how your classic party is pretty identical to one of my classic parties with palm Alchemist replacing Dark Hunter. ...Now I want to start my fourth Classic run. In story mode I named my cafe Sheepy~ because of the sheep thing in it. Now I name it Tastysil~ because puns.
  14. So my Perfect Chase team beat the third stratum boss. [spoiler=15F]Esbat went down fairly easily, only focused on Wilhelm and force broke for Artelinde's break. Scylla was a problem mostly because the beast has really bad tec and gets bodied by her ice attack, so I had to bring in Ice Wall and learn her pattern(and now I realized I could've just equipped some ice resist equipment on my dog). At first I thought the tentacles were going to be a problem because my team lacks AOE, but my landys were able to take them out with one hit and a chase from my Ronin. I also watched an EO2U Picnic 5 Landsknect auto-battle Race. It was as silly as it sounds and showed how silly picnic mode is. They had trouble at 23F but that floor is hard when you have no healing and can't do anything but attack. Yeah getting these types of conditionals are easier because of hybrid attacks. Even if the enemy is heavily resistant to an element, damage is calculated to the weakest resistance so you'll still do respectable damage. That's why skills like Burst shot and Fafnir's force break are so good for those types of conditionals, those skills hit for all elements(and stab for Burst Shot) making it so that you'll hit a weakness or at least hit for neutral damage.
  15. [spoiler=23F]You can hit him with a total of four bombs. The trick is to have the bombs hit him at his side while he's chasing you.
  16. Remember to recycle your grimoires. You probably have enough trash grimoires for a level 10 by now and you can keep on doing that to stock up on level 10 grimoires for trading. Which is the ideal way to get level 10 grimoires without using the premium chance food (which I recommend keeping the free one until postgame so you can get a bunch of level 10s for trading as well as 9-6 for recycling for more 10s). [spoiler=23F]Yeah Colossus... uh Juggernaut is pretty tricky. And getting the bombs to hit him is annoying. Thankfully for the fight he gives you that nice attack buff(I think it's like 180% more attack?) but man do you need to dispell it from him(and the defense buff) or he'll wreck your party. I didn't have much trouble but that's because I watched an entire playthough of the game a couple months before the NA release so I knew his gimmick. If you arm bind the tree sponge it literally can't do a thing. That was my strat for story mode, blind the guy with Flavio and arm bind him with Chloe. He was a pain for my perfect chase team though. No pure elemental attacks at all.
  17. After multiple attempts I've finally beaten the super boss in EO2U without cheesing it (There's a three turn strat for the story mode party but you don't want to use it for 100% completion). As frustrating as it was, it's an interesting fight and it feels great to beat it. Now all that's left for story mode is to finish the item compendium and grind to level 99/99 for DLC bosses.
  18. Yeah shit gets real when you hit fourth stratum. It's a big reason why I like story mode better in EO2U. Anyway I hit 30F in my story mode file. [spoiler=Post-Game Boss]Fighting the Great Dragon was giving me trouble because of his high Hp but I ended up winning by having Fafy proc double action. Twice. 40k damage in one turn? Yes pls. I'm also kinda playing Classic with my perfect chase team. It's working out great during boss fights (Recently beat second stratum) and it's really fun to see my party so interconnected. If someone dies though RIP damage. Of course 14 classes makes it hard to not think of another party... I started a NG+ Classic with Highlander/(Palm) Alchemist/Protector /Gunner/Troubadour and I'm already thinking of another party. Sword Dark Hunter/ Whip Dark Hunter/ War Magus Hexer/ and something else. Probably Compression Alchemist. Or a Princess. And then there are other things I want to do. Like Peerless combo Ronin, Combat Medic and Beast and Chaser Survivalist.
  19. So I finished story mode in EO2U. Enjoyed it a lot more than EOU's. Pretty much all bosses ended up being Fafnir domination but the last few caught me off guard. Now I'm off to post-game or maybe I'll play more of classic.
  20. The SP buffer made it so that randoms no longer deplete your resources and made dungeon crawling boring. Multiple colours for icons was a good call though. My problem with PQ is that the party member's skills aren't unique enough to differentiate them. They all pretty much function the same way and in the end it's the sub personas that make up your party. In EO2U news I hit 5th stratum(It looks majestic) yesterday in Story mode and fought a Ragelope in Classic. It died turn 2 due to the instant kill of beheading cut. I was disappoint.
  21. Fafnir's Elemental Sabres+ Arianna's Link Orders are the story mode party's damage dealers. Chloe's ailing slash can do a ton of damage but it takes her away from her healing tree(I got ailing slash around third stratum). Flavio's Multi-Shot does okay damage as well. I pretty much ignored the Fafnir's Force tree. The party has a lot of ways to prevent status and binds so he just went straight DPS.
  22. Analysis is now Alchemist's force skill rather than a buff. Analysis helped making Alchemists crazy but I personally think that the combination of action boost and the high power of torrents made the Alchemist crazy good. You don't have to worry about boosted Viper anymore because Boost is replaced by the Force mechanic(and I think it's 1000 times better). Level 10 Viper does 300 damage and Level 20 Viper does 500 damage. There's also a food that doubles poison damage but boss HP scales really high(First stratum boss has 8220 HP but can be reduced to ~5000) so it's not super broken. Most bosses are weak or neutral to poison now Skills can now go up to level 20(or 10 if it's original max was 5) with grimoire linking so it's not really a bug now.
