  1. My soul is cast in crystal yet unrevealed beneath the knife. All wells are dry, all bread is masked in fungus and now disease is rife. Will you not run from this and love me for one more life?
  2. Nothing arouses me more in a girl than her natural scent. Girls, please stop covering youselves in perfumes, you're concealing the sexiest part of you. Smell like yourself, and be proud of it! (Or I just have a weird fetish )
  3. I'm pretty sure Gwendolyn at least is salvageable in NM. I got her to kill an enemy without really trying in her joining chapter. She wasn't any good, and I benched her right after, but she really didn't seem nearly as awful as she is made to be here.
  4. My question doesn't even concern my own experience with the game, since I'm playing on normal mode for now. But I've been wondering about something concerning the hard mode stat bonuses. Why does Milady get them? Why doesn't Raigh? Or Douglas? Or Hugh? It seems it should be that recruitable characters fought as enemies get them as a rule, but why the arbitrary exceptions? I can understand the programming issues for Hugh, because of the way he is recruited, but the other two, I see no explanation. Also, does anyone think that the boosts are a bit too big? They seem to pretty much dictate who is usable in hard mode, not that the game is that well-balanced in normal mode in the first place, but still...
  5. To myself: "That's what happens when you have 0 luck and get drunk... unless I have discovered a new Pokémon species..."
  6. Never smeared gravy on their genitals.
  7. Jagen, Cain and Abel, Gotoh (though it's been a long time since we saw one), Navarre (recruitable Myrmidon enemy with a Killing Edge is too specific not to be considered an archetype) and the Pegasus trio. Some supposed "archetypes", though, make very little sense to me. The "Ogma" is simply the first Mercenary to join. And you have a similar one for almost every class. That's not an archetype; that's a recurring class. Also, both Narcian and Caellach are considered to be of the Michalis archetype... One is an incompetent, pathetically evil buffoon; the other is an hypercompetent mercenary-turned-general, who, while generally being a jerk, comes off as quite likeable is his conversations with Joshua... I haven't played Shadow Dragon or Mystery of the Emblem, so I know little of Michalis himself, but didn't he get a redemption arc in the sequel? I can't imagine that for either Narcian or Caellach...
  8. In Quebec, there is Saint-Louis-du-Ha! Ha!, which I believe is the only town name with exclamation marks in the whole world. Onomatopoeia in a town's name sounds quite silly to me.
  9. Here in Quebec, despite (or maybe in part because of) the our deeply religious history, few people are practicing Christians anymore. Well, people celebrate Christmas, Easter, etc., but it doesn't have any religious meaning anymore, just a traditional excuse to give presents or to party. Furthermore, the only one of my school friends who was religious was the biggest Harry Potter fan. Banning Harry Potter books, or even parents forbidding their children to read them, is totally absurd to me, and such thoughts belong in dystopian novels like Fahrenheit 451 or 1984.
  10. The Tellius duology is my favourite. Every nation is much more than an archetype, even though your first impressions might make you think otherwise. Most characters, both good and bad, are well-written and well-developed and have a clear identity of their own. That even applies to many minor bosses, since there are a lot of special conversations with those (at least one per boss). Blazing Sword was pretty neat too, even though some characters' reasons for joining were dubious at best. I have a soft spot for Sacred Stones. The story itself is nothing too original, but the characters are simply amazing. Awakening has some great parts, and great characters too, but it seemed (and it's probably what happened) that they tried to fit four or fives stories into a single game, so it didn't feel focused enough (oh, and the Gharnef archetype can die: Validar was such a bland villain compared to Gangrel and Walhart). Fates is again a case of trying to do too much at once. The basic idea behind the plot is a very interesting one, but somehow it feels like they felt they had to pander to the Awakening fanbase in the worst possible ways. In my headcanon, the children are characters that will exist at some point, but them growing up so fast in the Outrealms is not really happening (I still recruit them, but pretty much only use them in Paralogues and count them as non-canon.) They tried to have a quirky, humorous cast like Awakening. While I like the Fates cast, their almost constant comedic tone feels at odds with what should be a very serious plot, dealing with many facets of moral ambiguity. My main buff with the plot is still Garon. A LOT could be salvaged by making him a little less stereotypically evil. It was basically a retelling of the Vigarde plot from FE8, except that Vigarde was defeated halfway through the game, and the character behind the whole thing was established quite early, unlike Anankos who needs a third path to be covered. A zombie does not make a good main antagonist. Garon should have been more like Lyon: possessed, but still having some control and bouts of lucidity that could justify Xander and Corrin not giving up hope. Or he could have been like Arshtat from Suikoden V, who is getting crazier (and potentially homicidal) every day, but still acts like a caring mother and a true queen at times. The only time Garon was mildly interesting was his very last scene in Birthright, where he seemed to come back to life for a short time, and while he was clearly not the nicest guy, he at least felt mildly like a human being. The story of Fates is not exactly bad. I'd call it okay-ish. But it had so much potential, and the stupid issues could have been very easily fixed. So one can't help being disappointed. Recently started Binding Blade. The story seems okay, though not exceptional. Some characters are introduced in a weird way. They just appear, say three words, and they're your friends! At least they can support, but it's obvious that the support conversation writing was an art they hadn't mastered yet.
  11. It was my third. University's a bitch. Especially when I'm wasting my time posting random stuff on SF.
  12. One gameplay advice about the variable stats: be sure to check the Druids' Magic stat in Father and Son every time you might restart the chapter. The Berserk range does change occasionally.
  13. Eevee! Eevee! Eevee! Eevee! Eevee! Eevee! Eevee! Eevee! Eevee! Eevee! Eevee! Eevee! ..Eevee! Eevee! Eevee! Eevee! Eevee! Eevee! Eevee! Eevee! Eevee! .... Flareon?.
  14. Because I recently discovered this hilariously bad clip, and I happened to stumble upon this thread. And we're far from the Forest, no one can stop me from resurrecting dead things. (Though given what happened when Lyon and I tried stuff with Vigarde...)
  15. Banned for getting too many Wendys
  16. I do that eyebrow thing to hide the fact that my face is very square.
  17. Despite being a non-ninja, is still more ninja than me and my non-existing luck stat.
