  1. I think the score limits for tiers would be very lenient. 4k would probably have you rise pretty much every rank (given that's the max offense rewards), so just work at it. Even your current 3kish should probably get you above tier 10 easily. (I doubt big-N would make it that hard for casuals.)

  3. I think I'm just going to put Tri-Adept on Anna. Her base set means that against greens she can win the duel by doubling the first round and using Vantage to finish, Tri-Adept let's her lure Reinhardt while taking like 3 damage (From +Atk, Death Blow) Rein, and murder all the blues. Sure hope I got a spare Roy. (All Roys are spare Roys.) Edit: No Roy, although I have a 5* Eliwood. (Dat banner).
  4. Olivia makes a pretty good Red Azura after inheritance---being red hurts her, given that's the sword-lord spam color, but if you have lots of good greens and blues she can carry a Ruby Sword for greens while your other units deal with other stuff.
  5. Looks like the starting 3 are always going to be on the bonus rotation. Time to grind my Anna up, I guess. (Assuming Zephiel doesn't pan.) Edit: Also, no Reinhardt, R.I.P hopes and dreams. Off-topic Edit: I feel kind of like a douche, right now. (Selena has Ruby Sword, Fury 2, and Renewal 3 for maximum asshattiness on my defense team.) Snuck that win in just in time, Team's been up for less than 24 hours.
  6. -Spd mostly just has to resign itself to being doubled by everything. Not too much of a problem vs. melees, given his def, but basically every mage and their grandmothers will double him to death, if he doesn't manage to 1HKO. It's still Hector, wipes the floor with physical units of all varieties, and the weaker mages get 2HKOd.
  7. Quick question: Anyone know if dancers are still penalized, score wise, due to their far lower than average BST? (The fact that skills and merges factor into score means that the penalty is small enough to be ignored if a dancer really simplifies an arena run, but if it exists, running without a dancer might be optimal.) Edit: By crappy Ike I meant basically: Strong, durable dude with distant counter that juggernauts. I'd call Camus blue cavalry Ike if I gave him Heavy Blade and Aether to juggernaut, for example.
  8. I think the 10th Stratum quests are meant to be an bonus to do 10th if you happen to have a team comp you need SP grinding, rather than something you ought to be shooting for. The reward is low enough that you aren't forced to do it, but high enough that taking more time and effort to do 10th over 8th is worth it.
  9. To be honest, I still like -Res Hector there. That's because a Hector like that will want Aegis or Sacred Cowl to mitigate the bulk of the magical damage---Hp actually beats res even in magic only situations with his special up, since it's damage after reductions that's reduced. That said, it seems like Sheena has the better spread for that job? (Her mixed-bulk is so good---because she dumped HP---that she can just go QR and some kind of damage special and go to town.) Edit: Feels like you're just turning Hector into crappy Ike, though. Stuff him full of buffs and watch him juggernaut. (Ike does this easier since Heavy Blade turns Aether into a 3cd damage and defense skill.)
  10. To be honest, a lot of us are having the same issue. Arena scoring rebalance and adding preparation made offenses a lot easier, meaning defenses are harder. Edit: Which means very few of us have advice to give. (I sure don't, considering my 0 defense wins this season.)
  11. To be honest, I like -Res more than -Hp. If Hector gets doubled by a mage, there's basically no saving him, meaning =Res is meaningless, and for single hits Hp is clearly superior to Res, since it's physical and magical. That's just my take, though.
  12. +Spd -Res is actually one of the better mage-tanking IVs for Hector. If he gets doubled by a mage, nothing's saving him, but 28 speed is a decent tier if you can manage to get some Hones or Goads up. This is because glass cannons with huge spd get 1 shotted by Hector (Fury 3 Nino lives a =Atk Hector with 1 hp, which is another way to say: all variants rekt by Hone Armor), and the only two people who can 1HKO Hector are TA3 Sanaki or Lilina, neither of which have the speed to double +Spd Hector, even before buffs. (Tharja can't, at least, not without buffs from blade-tome---and TA3 would mean she can't get L&D, making it a lot easier for Hector to avoid the double.) Edit: Also, why are you dumping +Atk\-Def? That's a +Atk nature. I can see dumping #2 since +Hp is basically worthless, but not 3.

  16. I'd keep +Spd Hector. 28 speed is actually a pretty decent speed tier---it goes to a mind boggling 40 spd if you manage to pull 3 more +Spd Hectors for 3 stacks of Goad Armor. (Ofc, don't merge the +Atk one into him either, keep em both.) Off-topic Edit: Suppose someone has 4 Hectors in an off-account with about 150 or so orbs locked behind story missions, would the proper thing to do be pull more Hectors, or stop pulling Hectors? (I'm debating between going full Hector Emblem or just slapping Distant Counter on everyone instead.)

  18. The problem is RA only tops off if the Falchion user was topped off in the first place, whereas AS could top off even if the Falchion user was low hp (but above 10). QR users really want to be topped off.

Since Guard pretty much completely stops the special from charging (rather than removing 1 point of charge when combat starts, I misunderstood it before), it actually seems like a pretty good skill. Basically Nihil. Edit: A Hector with guard, for example, laughs at any sword users relying on Moonbow or another Special to 1RKO him.
  21. -Spd is literally the worst Bane for Marth. Even -Atk can be salvaged because he has the bulk and speed to run a TA-3 set or something. So you have slightly better than 80% chance to pull a better Marth, when you do pull another Marth. Besides, Spur speed is the better use for Marth as inheritance fodder, since he's the only one that gets it at 4*. (+8 speed to anything, or +10 to non-infantry can be pretty bonkers. Talking about this makes me tempted to make a 3 protect 1 Ike build---everyone else is full on buff-bot and healing duty, with a bunch of spurs and wards and rallies.)
  22. Personally I like reciprocal more than ardent, but in your case, given that you're using the Falchion Renewal combo to top people off, Ardent should be better. Edit: I like reciprocal more because there only needs to be 1 in a team to be capable of swapping everyone's hp.
  23. Personally I'd keep him. Cherche also has Pivot, so it's better to sac a 3* base than a 4* base unit. (-Spd is pretty terrible for Marth, but it's not like you can't merge him into a better one later.)
  24. QR3 is still more arena points than QR2, however. So it's a matter of saving 18k feathers now and paying 2k more feathers later or paying 20k feathers now and saving 2k feathers later. 2k now, 20k later. Or 20k now, 0k later.
  25. Luna gives the best single fight numbers, since Ike activates it during an Attack---Counter---Attack---Counter chain. (Less 1 attack if enemy isn't fast enough to double), but the thing is... it turns Ike into just another generic distant counter user, and you even used up an A-slot for it. Think of it like this, Fury 3 Ike with Moonbow would do better than Heavy Blade Luna Ike, due to better speed, bulk, and damage. (Luna needs to beat Moonbow by 6 damage to match Fury 3's damage increase, which happens at 30 def, a very high bar.) Not much point to being Ike if you aren't Aethering people to death, I think.
