  1. I'm late on this, but here's mine

Byleth: Byleth isn't poorly written like Corrin or anything, but they are just such a boring lifeless blank slate of a character that there really isn't anything to like about him.

Cyril: Kind of a dead horse beaten, but he's probably my least favorite character. Even after reading some of his supports, he really is just a boring and bland character who never shuts up about Rhea, and he's also just rude for no reason in some of his supports.

The Slitherers: What can I say that hasn't already been said about them? They're boring, they're incompetent, and just evil for the sake of evil. They're the Garon Squad 2.0

  2. You want the roster roster? Well...

    Archanea: Boah, Vyland, Dolph, Macellan

    Valentia: Faye, Deen

Jugdral: Daisy, Kain, Alva, Robert, Veld

    Elibe: Sophia, Wendy, Roartz, Acard,

    Magvel: Selena

Tellius: Makalov, Meg, Fiona, Lyre, Izuka

    Awakening: Tharja, Nowi, Validar

Fates: Corrin, Camilla, Peri, Hinata, Nina, Garon, Iago, Hans

Three Houses: Byleth, Cyril, Solon, Kronya, Thales

  3. Ok so you guys probably expected me to scream in excitement over Jill, but I got suspended for two months, so I couldn't do it on here XP I did however manage to get a +10 Jill during that time.

    Marvel at her beauty.

I got everyone else on the banner as well during the quest to +10 Jill. I do feel bad for Boyd not being added though.

Put me in the pro Sacred Stones camp. I think it's so close to being one of the all time great FEs, and this forum likes to bash on it just for lacking truly high end difficulty options.

It's got a great story, a great cast, an excellent branching class system, and some solid maps.

For all intents and purposes, Sacred Stones would be a good entry point for the OP's girlfriend.

Also, I think that the undeserved negative reputation of this game will prevent it from getting an Echoes. And that's really tragic, because the amount of work required to turn Sacred Stones into a great game is far, far less than the amount of work required for Gaiden, Geneology, or Binding Blade.

Tbh, Sacred Stones is one of the games I think needs an Echoes remake the least, partly cuz it's already translated, and partly cuz there's not much to really fix in a potential remake. I'd rather see remakes of Jugdral and Binding Blade before getting remakes of any of the localized FE games (although Tellius would be an exception just cuz of how hard it is to actually be able to play them).

You know what? No. I'm allowed to have my own opinion, I have said nothing to attack any Valentia fan, and I don't make a habit of hanging around the Valentia boards (or the Fates ones, or the SD/NM ones, or any other ones for games I have no interest in). On a neutral platform, I can speak my piece without it being a personal attack on you or anyone else.

Or should I suddenly take it personally every time Alastor shits on Three Houses (which he reallllllly likes doing)? I don't take personal offense, by the way. I just know what his preferences are and profoundly disagree.

You need to divorce your identity from your favorite game. It's your favorite game, not your spouse.

I never said it was my favorite game you jack ass! I'm just always so fucking tired of seeing people like you, Ottservia, and so many others act like this game is complete garbage without any thing redeemable about it!

I'm sorry. But I'm really not required to match your opinion. I wasn't even taking your opinion into account, nor have I read the entire thread to notice or care about your recommendation one way or the other. It isn't an insult to you personally.

I'm sorry, but I really did struggle to finish it, and I'm not the only one. My best friend hasn't yet finished it for the same reasons, and I dare say that if Echoes or Shadow Dragon were our introductions to the franchise, we wouldn't still be playing Fire Emblem games today.

I can be nice and say that the game has a good cast of characters, a good story, and a good visual presentation, but based on my experiences and those of others I know, I cannot in good conscience recommend it for fear that it kills a budding interest in the franchise entirely.

WELL QUIT ACTING LIKE IT'S SUCH A FUCKING SIN TO LIKE THIS GAME YOU SON OF A BITCH! No matter where I go where I see something Valentia related on here, you always feel the need to act like it's such a fucking garbage game!

While neither is a good character, I would agree that Iago is better than Berkut. I could go into why but since this thread is supposed to be about Alm, I will abstain from doing so.

SILENCE! Don't you dare fucking say Iago is better than Berkut!

  8. 7 minutes ago, Ottservia said:

Here’s my take my take on that personally. We don’t talk about Hans because fuck him. It’s weird because I find Iago to be the better villain of the two but Berkut is the better character. The n again comparing those two is like comparing apples to oranges. They both serve extremely different roles in their respective stories so comparing them is kind of pointless

I didn't say I was comparing Iago and Berkut. What I meant was that it really ticks me off when people say Berkut (my favorite Fire Emblem villain) is worse than Iago (my least favorite Fire Emblem villain). And even if I was comparing them, I still think Iago is a far worse villain than Berkut.

Berkut is further hindered by being kind of a loser. He can't be Alm's rival because Alm beats him every single time. Berkut has no accomplishments at all in the story which combined with his rather whiny personality makes him pretty pathetic.

That doesn't mean he's bad though. What kills me is when people say Berkut is worse than Iago and Hans, and I fucking hate that so much.

  10. One note villains who get way more screen time than they deserve at the expense of other more interesting villains. I don't mind a cartoonishly evil villain here and there like Narcian and Valter, they're nice to have, but only if they're secondary villains at best who are offed at about the half way point of the story and don't overstay their welcome. Villains like Iago and Hans suck ass and last way longer than they should.

I also tend to dislike characters who are creepily devoted to the main character like Tharja, Camilla, Faye, and so on.

  11. Yeah, I agree that Jill is the most dynamic character in the entire franchise. Like, how often do you see a Fire Emblem character who isn't even that important in the grand scheme of things go through so much character development within the main story. It's for that reason alone that she's one of my favorite Fire Emblem characters of all time.

Every single team I would have joined lost, so I'm not participating. I'm just not inclined to play this mode if I have to join a team I don't care for.

Ditto. Except in this case, it was the one character I had every intention of supporting.

You know you guys could continue just for the orbs right? Dorothea lost, yet I'm still playing just so I could have as many orbs for my Jill and Patty stash

A pirate-themed banner? I guess that's this year's Picnic banner. I suppose it's nice they're being creative with a new theme each year. The selection of characters makes sense, at least. I'm very amused that Darros of all characters is actually getting into the game now. Makes sense since he is the original pirate of the series, but wow, never thought he'd show up. He, Geese, and Brigid add to the pool of characters who debuted as seasonals. The one complaint I have...pirate-themed banner with no Dart, but instead a shoe-horned Veronica/Xander Harmonic unit. Lame. Oh well.

*Sigh* More ejections from the summoning pool, but at least they're being put on revival banners, and they aren't replacing the Book I revivals. Thank goodness.

Lots of free stuff. That's always good.

Yeah the fact that best pirate Dart isn't here is a fucking crime

I'm not sure if you would consider him a minor boss, but Levail is someone I really want to see. I'm disappointed he doesn't show up on the CYL voting. I would vote for him honestly.

If anything, I'm more surprised that Lekain isn't even an option on CYL, despite the fact that he has official artwork and is more or less the closest thing Radiant Dawn has to a main villain outside of Sephiran.

Bold: That's false; Colm needs an Ocean Seal to promote too. Which means if I'm using him, and odds are that's the case because he's the only thief you get for 2/3 of the game, one of them is stuck not promoting until chapter 14.

I mean, for what it's worth, they do give you Rennac in case you don't end up promoting Colm. He sucks yeah, but you're not really using him for combat anyway.
