  1. It's more efficient to just give one provision item to a Mila statue since that recovers all fatigue on all units. Although by chapter 5 I had my inventory full and couldn't even pick any more food up...
  2. I THINK what happens is that story-heavy characters are permanently taken off the roster but do the "retreat" routine like a lot of Awakening characters usually, and only actually "die" on the final bossfight? Don't take my word for it though, I haven't tested it. I can't imagine them having written different scenarios in the middle of the game, it's just not what Fire Emblem usually does...
  3. I'm guessing that Dyuute is freed of Tatara's influence if he's killed first regardless of whether Alm has talked to Ryuuto. You can consider it a lucky coincidence in that case, it's all up to the player. You just won't get Clive's and Alm's remarks before the battle, but it's worth testing out. This is mere conjecture.
  4. Clive challenges Alm's decision to save her, arguing that the whole situation is too dangerous to consider risking victory for the sake of one little girl. Alm visibly doubts himself for a second, but decides to go through with it anyway. He's determined to help anyone he possibly can on his way.
  5. Witches will always target the extremes of your formation, so either whoever is at the very front or at the very back. You can use this and have high res units take those positions.
  6. You're forgetting the fact that Alm nevertheless united Valentia under a single banner and ousted the corrupt god-dragons from the realm. He's in every right the conqueror that Walhart aspired to be, and I'd dare say even more so. He's also anything but idealistic when initially taking the fight to Rigel, everyone's hyped up to get back at the supposed "bad guys", unaware of the forces at play in the shadows.
  7. Oh, I definitely like that interpretation of his last thought better, thanks. You might be on to something with the other line too. @karasu3 The thing is, Luka's very last line is what makes me think that there's more to this than just him worrying about being too composed, like there's something between the lines Clive isn't able to read at the moment. Or maybe I'm just the one reading between the lines too much... I just would have liked to get rid of the ambiguity the current TL has, but I suppose this is fine as it is.
  8. That was a thing? Holy shit, I must be blind. I knew there was someone, but it completely slipped my mind that it was Abel himself. My bad.
  9. Quoting on mobile is hard so I'll answer these manually. @Thane 1. I for one like the new Alm. Awakening made him sound like a proper douche. I guess he just didn't wanna rail on Fernand because he didn't really know the guy.(that won't stop me from doing it lol). In Berkut's case it felt like Alm realized that the former was so fargone that there was no saving him, and felt sorry for the guy. He's a lot more believable and down to earth now if you ask me, but I can understand some people liking him for being a more savage sort of Lord. 2. Yeah gaiden Luka was kind of an ungrateful prick lol. It doesn't help that most characters had two to three lines of dialogue for the duration of the whole game, either. 3. I can kind of gather from her demeanor that she'd both proud of her power but also doesn't want someone else to use her or tell her how to live her life. Perhaps she was afraid of being used by someone again like she was at the Dam, or perhaps she was pressured by the people from her town to devote herself to it in a way she found off-putting. Perhaps sealing her power away is an act of rebellion? Who knows. 4. It was dumb... It amounted to "if you don't come to Death Mountain blah blah I'll make sure Alm suffers blah blah you don't want all your comrades to suffer do you blah". It was the most paper-thin generic blackmail and she took it hook line and sinker, even worse than Eirika's episodes in FE8. 5. I think it might just be a hint of a new, secret love triangle. Est very clearly states her love for Abel in Echoes (one of her victory quotes is "Abel, wait for me"). It's just odd cause it seems to be a totally new thing.
  10. The odd thing is that the Witches submit their free will and consciousness to Doma's whims. Who's in control of them after he's gone? It's a bit unclear
  11. This thread went over my head completely. Anything in need of translation or a check?
  12. I guess that's a fair point for Jenny/Saber not being a thing. Also, I'd like to address some mistakes I made on Leo:
  13. I can't think of anyone relevant to speak of. The villains/bosses I felt were mostly pretty straightforward assholes, except for the last couple of leaders you have to face off against leading up to Rudolf, and the Witches who obviously are devoid of free will. Hark is a cool old man but you don't see much of him, same for the Novis Monastery people. General Marcenas is cool, but doesn't really play a role past explaining Rudolf's aim to Alm and helping him cope with it a bit. Townspeople are mostly just filler, but some questgivers are a bit eccentric. To be fair I've only just finished Ch5. so there might be some more past that, but I kind of doubt it.
  14. The liking older guys thing? In Chapter 3, I think. After Alm and Celica get into their fight. It's a Town conversation, let me try to recount it for you. I'm writing this from memory but that's about how it goes. Who she actually ends up with at the end is still as vague as ever but I like the idea of it being Saber.
  15. I have no idea how you made it all the way to Doma on Hard without grinding. Even the original Gaiden demanded that you grind a fair bit for him, and it seems to correspond with the Normal difficulty. All I can say is good luck, you'll need it...
  16. Ah... Think maybe you didn't grind enough? Most of my units could tank at least one shot from Doma at the end, in fact they mostly dodged (he had around 30% hit on his eyebeam, and around 50-60% on his close range attack). It was the witches and dark mages that game me a headache, plus Doma's anti-all attack every couple of turns. I didn't want to repeat the mistake I made with Gaiden when I didn't grind enough for the battle with Doma and ended up losing half my army just cause I wanted to end the game at that point... I don't know, maybe try reloading a prior save, or making sure you have unit with high Def taking the first shots? What difficulty are you on?
  17. I'll go the extra mile and try to provide a bit more detailed description for most of the playable characters. Note that this represents their JP personalities and not whatever might happen in the localization, and my opinions and interpretations may differ from someone else's. Some character development spoilers included to elaborate my points. Really long wall of text. Oh, and for the record, Lady Sword Sonia over Dean. Not only do you have that, but she also has 2 and 3 range magic, plus healing when she promotes. You can never have enough healers.
  18. Yes. You can freely recruit them again anytime but you can't go to the Mila Temple (or the cave before it, I think that was Dragon Cave?) with them in your party before you clear the desert fortress. Going to the Temple without clearing the fortress is one sequence break that'd be interesting to see.
