  1. Definitely would recommend resetting levels and leveling up as a certain class to acquire desired stats. If you are smart about it you can get very high on the stats with minimal booster investment. I made myself a calculator that predicts somewhat accurately what stats will look like leveling as each class. Don't underestimate getting some quality time grinding on each character as you learn about their personal and level up their Combat Arts/Spells. I personally am not going for full 120 stats on everyone as it would be very painful to get 120 Def on Lysithea for example. Will I get Hubert's Mag to 120? For sure.
  2. Updated the list with a few things after several hours of play. Couple of things to highlight: Moved Stormer of the Land up to B. Moved Concentration and Exalted Breath up to C.
  3. I don't have a reliable way to test "Launched" with Gauntlets yet, but I will add it once I do the testing.
  4. Did some testing with a couple of weapons to figure out what "state" each class attack applies to enemies. State in this post is defined as "Flying" (F) or "Launched" (L). This can be useful if you have weapons/abilities with Collision Damage (Flying) or Aerial Damage (Launched) and to trigger elemental effects of Lightning (Flying) and Wind (Launched). I also used Essences to figure out what attacks are imbued with what elements. I don't have access to Dimitri or Claude so I could not test those yet, will add them when I get there if no one else does. S1 refers to just pressing regular attack once, S2 twice, so on and so fort. C1 refers to strong attack one, C2 strong attack two, etc. CLA is Class Action. Swordmaster/Mortal Savant have enhanced strong attacks and Pegasus/Falcon Knight have their High Altitude strings listed. Other thing to note, mounted classes take on certain infantry movesets when dismounted: Dark Knight, Holy Knight, Death Knight, Pegasus Knight, and Falcon Knight = Soldier. Wyvern Lord, and Wyvern Rider = Warrior. Great Knight = Fortress Knight. Bow Knight = Sniper. Please let me know if you find discrepancies.
  5. Lysithea is interesting. She has naturally high Mag and Dex along with decent Spd. All of her other stats are very bad and wouldn't waste many resources trying to shore them up. That does mean she plays well with magic-based attacks (no surprise there), higher crit/crit rush damage and pretty decent CDR on Spells/CAs. That matched up with Unsought Power and her Crests she is obviously meant to spam magic based CAs and/or spells. What is not too obvious though is that she actually functions on any class you want once you master Mortal Savant and acquire Proficient Witstrike. Mortal Savant itself is a very strong pick as you still get to spam spells, access to Swordfaire, and a decent elemental moveset. Trickster may not seem as good, but she has access to Thief's Wisdom, granting Dark imbue to the CLA, which is pretty good. She also learns a lot of good Sword CAs like Electric Grounder, Shadowblade, Firesweep and Astra. When it comes to Lances Dark Knight is obvious due to Dark Magic+. She learns Knight's Wisdom to further fill up the Special Gauge when using DK CLA as well as the very powerful Frozen Lance, Dark Lance and Lightstrike. Hell, she can even use Lance Jab well due to her Spd and Dex. When it comes to Axes, she doesn't learn anything particularly special but of course she learns War Strike, Smash and Crush; probably her weakest option. She can function as a Bow Knight fairly well, learning Archer's Wisdom to tap into her Dex. She also learns Precision Volley and Thunderbolt. Not the best but better than axes. She has obvious synergy with Tomes due to Apex Tome, but it is broken right now so it doesn't matter. Gremory is her only choice here so there is not much to talk about. She does get access to the most powerful Dark spells: Dark Spikes Tau, Hades Omega and Luna Lambda which can be spammed quite a bit due to Dark Magic Mastery and her high Spd. In regard to general abilities, the only ones I feel are worth highlighting are Boost Critical, Lifeforce, Offensive Tactics, Luna, Wild Abandon, Specials Master, Battle Instincts, Burst of Resolve and Renewal. This isn't a very impressive list, as has been pointed out, but she doesn't really need much to function given other stuff she has. Boost Critical, Offensive Tactics, Battle Instincts and Burst of Resolve are probably mainstays in any of her builds. If you like risky play Wild Abandon and Lifeforce bring her up to another level of damage. That leaves two slots for you to tailor to whatever you need. In summary, I really do think that Lysithea can do very well as a Mortal Savant/Dark Knight > Trickster > Gremory and you can pick whatever class suits your style.
  6. I would focus on making the combat more difficult and leaving the other aspects of the game out of it, as it would just be a chore. Giving enemies abilities that make them more threatening, higher weapon advantages, more varied enemy types, maybe making monsters more common.
  7. I am resetting them to 1 and leveling them up to 120 as a certain class to fish for stat increases that I'm interested in. For this I do use RK. For booster farming you do want to do campaign runs.
  8. I actually enjoy Ferdinand more as a War Master. The WM moveset feels pretty good with the speed increase but he also gets access to Shatter to reveal gauges easily. On top of that he learns Fierce Iron Fist which lets him make use of his naturally high Spd and Absorb Spd ability.
  9. Lifeforce is not too bad on her if you use small mt CAs. Remember that LF takes health based on the size of the CA not how much damage it does. Given all the other stuff she has she really does benefit from using the smaller CAs most.
  10. True about spells and combat arts. A lot of the time it just feels like if you can simply drop them on enemy clusters and walk away, it makes movesets feel irrelevant. Kind of sad in a way as it makes everyone play the same.
  11. Problem with these games though is that Dark Knight and Trickster can still use spells just as effectively and still have a reliable fall back with their movesets.
  12. I am almost done doing 1-120 runs on all the Black Eagles units. A unit I see go underrepresented despite his power is Hubert. He can pretty much annihilate maps on any class that can make use of his Mag. Dark Conjuration is strong in any build and Perception lets him targets Stun Gauge a lot easier which goes well with his relatively high Dex. He has access to Absorb Mag and Armsthrift which give him scaling and longevity in long maps along with a bunch of "free" damage boosting skills (Big Game Hunter, Underdog, Offensive Tactics, etc.). He has access to Essence of Darkness, which is great considering he naturally learns Dark Lance, Shadowblade, Banshe Theta and Dark Spikes Tau. He also learns Frozen Fist and Frozen Lance. He is less effective on Axe and Bow classes, requiring a bit more set-up to make him work. Overall, I think he is just under the Lords in terms of power.
  13. I think it was more a matter that Cornelia was the most convenient target in the Kingdom and that Cleobulus was the right person for the job. As mentioned by others, I don't think the Agarthans would let their plans be compromised by something as trivial as genders.
  14. I pretty much ignore the triangle in this game too. Battalions make it very easy to offset. Something I've noticed as well is that maps tend to only have three weapon types so if your unit has an advantage against one and is neutral against the second, you can use the battalion to neutralize any potential disadvantage (most of the time). I honestly haven't felt bogged down by the WTA in several hours of maddening farming.
  15. I eventually want to get into a more nuanced analysis of each CA so I won't go long(er) here. I have not used every one of them personally but I have analyzed their attributes (effects, hit box, damage, CD, etc) enough that I think I got a decent idea. Mostly ignoring exclusive/relic arts. Sword - I think sword CAs are a bit better than I see others mention. You have a lot of options for hitting Res and a quite a few that can be augmented with Essences. Astra is pretty great as it lets you break guards and deal damage while essentially becoming immune. Only ones I really don't like is Assassinate because of how it jerks you around and Haze Slice for just feeling like a gimped Astra. Lance - Not as versatile as Sword but some powerful options for high Str+Mag units that can be augmented with Essences though none of them hit Res. Axe - Least versatile, probably the worst of the bunch. It's usually War Strike or bust though Lightning Axe has its uses for hitting Res. Bow - About the same as Lances though no benefit from having high Str+Mag you always hit Fliers hard. Flame Volley and Tornado Shot are handy and then you got Deadeye/Precision Volley for nuking. Gauntlets - Same boat as Bows but without free effectiveness. You can hit Res using Mystic Blow and Frozen Fost, which is interesting, but Rushing Blow is my favorite so far. Not gonna talk about spells as they require a lot more detail.
  16. There is: Guard Break - Breaks the enemy guard but the attack doesn't do damage. This one is the worst of the bunch as it doesn't take long for enemies to guard again and you are often animation-locked after using the CA. Cannot Guard - Breaks through guard and does damage. Best one in theory. Guard Pierce - Does not break guard but does a portion of damage. Good but you may still need to contend with a guarding enemy. I don't have access to LoR to test but if you want to see what Cannot Guard looks like test out Rushing Blow (Gauntlets) in Mock Battle.
  17. I also think this is how they end up being played. You just spam spells and the moveset is there to just finish up things.
  18. I do think pair-up in general is a really bad system in FE games.
  19. Makes me excited about the prospect of a Fates remaster in the future.
  20. Fates Spear Master was peak FE lance unit. I know Fates has issues, but its class progression is one of the best.
  21. Indra is Witstrike, so no. Probably an Inverted Zoltan.
  22. What I had in mind was an inverted Lance (most likely, if it is a thing).
