  1. I'm personally a Rhys x Mia person. There's just something I find incredibly amusing about the idea of Mia looking for her white-clad archrival and finding her lover instead.
  2. Have you tried FEBuilder? People like to use that for hacking nowadays instead of Nightmare.
  3. Weren't you doing another thing called Song of Oblivion? Has that already been abandoned?
  4. Nice to meet you! Can't wait to see your ideas.
  5. I think with this pairing Kjelle's Support chain with Owain also implies that she inherited his ability to turn invisible
  6. Yeah... I'm having difficulty finding any resources that might help you with hacking the NES games. FEBuilder is the most popular tool right now for making the kind of basic edits you've described, but again, it's for use with the GBA Fire Emblem games and that's it. EDIT: If you still insist on trying to hack one of the NES Fire Emblem games, I suggest asking for help on FEUniverse. They're much more hacking-specialized than this place in any case.
  7. Hardly anybody bothers with NESFE romhacking. Any FE hacking resources you're going to find are probably going to be for the GBA games, particularly FE7 and 8. What do you want to do with a hack?
  8. How much do you intend to train the Gen 1 characters before heading off to the Paralogues? If I recall correctly, the Child Unit will be given the last Skill each of its parents has the first time you start the map.
  9. I'd recommend Sanctaea Chronicles, but that would be rather crass of me, being the creator. If you're looking for a hack, I'd recommend The Lonely Mirror. It was updated fairly recently and is currently about 25 chapters long. https://feuniverse.us/t/fire-emblem-the-lonely-mirror-new-fe8-rom-hack/5712?u=vonithipathachai
  10. Let's see here... Her base stats except Mov all seem to have been increased by 3 from vanilla, and her growth rates all seem to have been increased by 14%. Why not 15%, I have no idea. Something has always bothered me about growth rates that aren't divisible by 5, but that's beside the point. She's definitely better than poor Eliwood now, at the very least (assuming he's unchanged). While her increased base stats will certainly help her, she's still held back by her class. She's still Sword-locked until promotion and still gains a bad weapon type when she does promote. If stats are all you care about, then you should be fine, but she's still not going to be nearly as useful as she would if she were, say, a Mercenary or really any mounted class.
  11. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1IADPDpDs0IguKyANi0vOwQC-NBKf-qJOPTuVkcKW63Q/edit?usp=sharing As CYL4 voting continues, I thought now would be a great opportunity to whip up this checklist of how much each Fire Emblem game is represented in Heroes based on who can be voted on. Some notes: Characters who only appear as alts or as part of a Duo Hero are only considered half-present in the game No duplicate characters, i.e. versions of a character that appear in different games, particularly characters who are the same person going by different names such as Eyvel, Selena, Laslow, Odin, etc. I'm considering reorganizing this list by continent and not by individual game, mainly as a possible solution to the issue of whether a character should be considered from one game or another, e.g. Eliwood being a Binding Blade character for debuting there or a Blazing Blade character for becoming properly playable there Feel free to reply with your thoughts below.
  12. Eh. I think the addition of Barons makes it less necessary. Also, you might want to avoid double-posting so much. The mods don't like it when people do that on others' threads.
  13. If Darting Blow on Pegasus Knights is that bad, then I'll just replace it with something else when I get to their Abilities. And their rebalanced stats may even include a negative Str bonus. Now that's less easy to solve, being heavily tied to lore and all. Since War Masters (or rather, Masters of Arms) don't necessarily specialize in Axes anymore, they probably won't have Axefaire. I wonder how viable "generic" Combat Arts (i.e. ones that can be used with any weapon type) could be? I don't think generic War Master's Strike would be that objectionable. Anything to give an infantry class something their pesky mounted competition can't do.
  14. I had some mild concerns of gender-lock removal increasing unbalance (e.g. Dark Bishop Lysithea), but I'm not entirely sure how what you describe works. Could you explain some more? Ditching varying weapon requirements for some classes may be a good idea, as some admittedly don't make a whole lot of sense. But also keep in mind I haven't revised class stats and growth rates yet. Wyvern Lord (among other classes) will probably get some nerfs in those areas. I may also have to include changes to what Abilities and Arts are learned from increasing Skill Levels. Close Counter should not be that easy to obtain. I have no plans to work with the DLC classes. And I have no clue yet if Yuri is a house leader.
  15. Again, I'm still working out Abilities. Maybe I should remove that information for now. I did think about making Brawling the one constant recommendation, but I was not aware of that detail about War Master being the only Master class requiring it in the vanilla class system. I'll see what can be done about that. Again, haven't gotten around to changing Skills yet. Mage Knight will probably have Black and White Tomefaire, but not Dark Tomefaire.
  16. So, yeah... This has been a long time in coming ever since I got Three Houses. These are my as of yet incomplete ideas for rebalancing Three Houses's class system. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mOaogEEV8IxV-MKTBHFEzkbXNmrBSxdYuRECBcBK-kM/edit?usp=sharing General changes so far: A larger number of classes are more flexible in their recommendations. I feel the Fighter and Monk classes' thing of only needing to meet one of multiple possible requirements for a 100% pass rate was sorely underutilized and restricted room for experimentation too much. Those classes' Skill Level Bonuses have been adjusted to reflect this. New classes (Lancer, Sentinel, Baron) have been added whose further information I have yet to figure out. War Master is now called Master of Arms; Gremory is now called Archsage. Dark Knight and Holy Knight have been merged into Mage Knight to further address the relative overabundance of mounted classes in the Master tier. Feel free to offer some constructive critiques below. I'll probably address Class Abilities and Arts next before finally moving on to stats and growth rates. EDITS: (1/25/2020) Undecided fields are now blank so that people don't get confused like Shanty Pete did.
  17. As of the midterm results for CYL4, Edelgard is #1 among the heroines. This is surprising to me, as I thought for sure her popularity had waned considerably in favor of Dimitri once more details of Three Houses's story became known. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad one of my Armored Axe waifus is doing so well, but I'm still a bit confused.
  18. First of all, what language are you trying to translate the GBA games into? I know FE6 was recently translated into Arabic.
  19. I figured it had to be IRL stuff. It happens to the best of us, sadly. At any rate, this place is generally pretty friendly aside from the rare bad apple. I'll ask Sire if your services are needed.
  20. Hey there! Oh, wow, that's very interesting! I was actually working with him on a Serenes Forest Emblem game in SRPG Studio; he was to provide me with story scripts while I handled creation of the playable game. But then at some point he stopped communicating with us entirely, causing the project to more or less be abandoned. Whether it was because he'd been getting overwhelmed by IRL business, we're not certain. But @Sire is currently making his own revival of the project with some of the users we signed on as playable characters. Here's the thread for the proof-of-concept demo that was made for Sub Zero's iteration. (Don't comment on it, though. We have rules here that you need to read, particularly against necroposting.)
  21. Okay, update to my Tier List that changes a couple of things. (1) Characters no longer receive rank penalties for being possible children of the Avatar. Since not everyone uses the Avatar as a self-insert (I certainly don't), it doesn't make sense at this point to apply such a penalty. Furthermore, Avatar relations to other characters can be more diverse than I realized, making those even less viable if they may or may not represent the player. (2) Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE characters have now been included, as much as I would rather not do so. Maiko isn't shown, but has a Waifu Rank of B.
  22. Hm. That latter one is interesting. I'm normally told that the fliers you get are among the most OP units partly due to the level design generally being very pro-flier (i.e. the sheer lack of indoor maps and several maps being designed in a way that strongly encourages their use). Now that you mention it, the early chapters are heavily reliant on telling and not showing the poor conditions in Rema, which might hurt Cato's early-game character a bit. I'm nervous about adding more chapters to Claudius's pre-army merge portion of the game, partly because Carol's pre-army merge portion would have to get the same amount to keep things equal. The best solutions I can come up with to the "telling and not showing" problem include additional Base conversations and visitable yellow houses that just give background info, as I'm concerned about making cutscenes drag on for too long. At the moment I'm struggling to figure out how to handle a new Base conversation in Chapter 10 where Carol expresses frustration about not being able to spare provisions for starving Fenizian commoners before she makes the journey to Fort Barca. Maybe that will give me some good practice. Now this is a new one. I'm already planning to shift over to just using Radiant Dawn's Bonus EXP system to prevent certain mounted characters (i.e. Boudicca and Derrick) from becoming too broken, but I haven't heard much about chapters giving too much regular EXP. Part of this "way too much EXP" thing might stem from the fact that as part of my policy of "making everybody good", almost nobody suffers from significant under-Leveling. I'm open to suggestions for how the problem could be addressed. Really? In my experience, the enemies hit pretty hard. But then I usually test chapters with characters at the same Level as the lowest-Leveled enemies, so it's possible that it's easier for characters to snowball than expected. Normal difficulty in Fire Emblem is usually just right for me, so draw whatever conclusions you like about my own skill level. You used to have battle save, but I took it out as I felt it trivialized certain chapters. I don't think Berserk users are going to be that common. However, now that you mention it, I'm curious about how you handled Leopold. There are no longer Shops on maps. All shopping is now done within the Base, just like in the Tellius games. Not currently, but there should be a plugin for it on either the Japanese or English SRPG Studio Wikis. I'll consider it. This is another quirk I've noticed about the enemy AI. On another note, mounted enemies in GBAFE don't seem to do that either, even though in theory they should be able to. The Debuff Ailment inflicted by Daggers inflicts Pow, Skl, Spd, Def, and Res -3, recovering by 1 per turn. Do you know you can use the left and right arrow keys to change pages of the Unit Menu? There should be a little space at the bottom of the growth rates/Supports page where you can see what Ailments a character has. You should be able to view Ailment descriptions by hovering over them with the mouse. As for clearer indicators of stat alterations, there might be plugins for those too. I know there's one for showing when stats are capped. Anyway, thanks for trying the game out. If you can, please fill out the feedback survey to give your thoughts on some other ideas I have for v3.1. And if you want to follow the game's development more closely and get early access to new halfbody portraits, feel free to join the game's Discord server. Links to both should be in the OP.
  23. One of them ...is fish. The other two~ Are growing on you~!
  24. They sound vaguely similar to Heron Laguz. But I'm not really sure how all these different races will fit into a Three Houses-like system.
