  1. v3.0 is now available! It's got 21 of 28 Chapters playable and adds a few new characters! Your save files for previous versions should technically work with it, but you will likely encounter errors such as now-cut weapons turning into Bronze Swords. So I would just start a new playthrough if I were you. A feedback survey has also been added to the OP. Please consider filling it out when you've finished this version of the game. Thank you.
  2. One idea I've had for an "Intermediate Mode" between Casual and Classic entails units being rendered unusable for the next map if they are defeated on the current one, becoming available again after the next map is completed. This may be a little complex for Sire, though.
  3. If there's no Lord position, then will the game still have permadeath?
  4. The main thing that irks me here is the plagiarism aspect. It's a little annoying to know that one of my favorite Fire Emblem songs was actually taken from another group without any credit given. It makes me feel like I've been lied to. I prefer to avoid listening to plagiarized songs if I can help it. But now I'm concerned because any of the songs I like could've been ripped off from somewhere else without me knowing it.
  5. So I've been starting to listen to Camel and gave their song Lunar Sea a spin. I could not believe what I heard. In the Name of Bern from Binding Blade is almost completely ripped off from the second half of this song! Thoughts?
  6. Hello, everyone! The /r/SRPGStudio Discord server is having a contest in which each participant makes a one-chapter game that is rated by judges according to quality of story, map design, and ease of play. 7. We already have Kale K. as our token Thief. As we speak Sire is trying to figure out how to include you as a Myrmidon. I think you'd make a perfect early-game character. Maybe you're a Severa fanboy who's also a fresh recruit into the Introductions border guard?
  8. Did you ever say what class you wanted to be? (Preferably not a magical one, we have more than enough of those already)
  9. Arlen should've been a Dark Mage in New Mystery of the Emblem. It would fit his character a lot more as somebody on the verge of treading Gharnef's path and looking to redeem himself once some sense gets talked into him.
  10. The Jagen slot still appears to be open on the Characters and Classes spreadsheet, so absolutely feel free to participate with your forum persona. Just make sure you fill out the character template provided in the OP and post it for @Sire to see
  11. Another progress update. I've just recorded Sanctaea Chronicles's FEE3 2019 video with Ukulele from FEUniverse. It was quite entertaining; I got to talk about the game and give him hints as he played through Chapter 16. I've also been doing the full game playtest for a while now and am on Chapter 16 myself. There may be a couple more kinks in the boss's AI that I need to work out. But as videos aren't actually due until the 31st, that should hopefully give me enough time to finish this playtest run and consider the game ready for release. Chances are I'll just release v3.0 as soon after watching the uploaded FEE3 video as I can, similarly to what I did for v1.0. I'll just work on the instruction manual as I wait for feedback on v3.0 to roll in.
  12. Thanks! We recommend you join our Discord so that you can keep up with things. The invite link should be in the OP now. EDIT: If you want to participate, please fill out the form also present in the OP.
  13. We're trying to reboot that SF Emblem thing and EHT was interested in you returning as the main Lord.
  14. I'm pretty sure Echidna is generally considered better than Bartre. She has better Skl and Spd and can fall back on Swords if she needs more accuracy.
  15. Evil dragons are just a cliché that I'm sick of seeing all the time in the series. I'm fine with various other kinds of monsters, though. I wouldn't mind seeing some sort of eldritch abomination enemy.
  16. ...What do you mean by this? Three Houses does feel kind of shoddily put together by series standards with Koei Tecmo seemingly doing most of the grunt work. Such as transitions between animations, character portraits or even weapon models not loading immediately, the load times you just mentioned. Sadly it seems with each new non-remake game since Awakening becoming increasingly financially successful, I don't think Avatars are ever going to go away. Heck, I wouldn't even be surprised if the FE4 remake shoehorned one in. Apparently the Avatars are extremely popular in Japan? I'm just going by what I've heard, so if anybody has a source providing evidence for or against it, that would be nice.
  17. Ooh, something else I thought of. I'd like to see a game where we actually get to play as the dark cult for once. Then again, this idea probably came from my ongoing playthrough of Command & Conquer.
  18. Whatever kind of game we get next, I just hope there isn't as much unnecessary padding between main story maps as there was in Three Houses. The Monastery along with various other unique aspects of Three Houses is an interesting experience the first time around, but the novelty wears off VERY quickly and it just becomes a chore. Seriously, why can't we just go back to having the Base like in Tellius? Furthermore I'd prefer more traditional class and weapon systems that also move towards better balance. Some things that I think should be done include: Retaining Wt and weapon durability. Pure (Spd - Wt) for AS calculation so that nobody gets punished for having low Str or Bld/Con. A Javelin/Hand Axe equivalent for Swords (I don't care if it's Wind Edges or Kodachi or even Boomerangs). Extended attack range for Bows, so long as they can NEVER COUNTERATTACK AT 1-RANGE; personally I think 2-3-Range is the sweet spot, with Longbows maybe having 2-4-Range. Buffing the Armored movement type in some manner that doesn't make it a net liability. Just giving them higher Def than every other movement type isn't enough if they're going to have so many other weaknesses. They should either have the highest BST like in Heroes or an additional Class Skill to match Canto, like maybe Jugdral Pavise or a lesser form that only halves damage rather than negating it entirely. I know Vestaria Saga gives Armored units Class Skills that buff nearby allies' Def stats. Maybe something like that which boosts Def AND Res? That's all I can think of for now.
  19. Personally I'd prefer Horse Archers/Bow Knights to not just be Snipers on horses. I notice there are no Lance specialist classes in your tree. This could be a good opportunity to include Soldiers as basic Lance-wielding infantry, which would promote into either Sentinels (Lances) or Bow Knights (Lances + Bows). If Armored Knights still have their normal net disadvantage compared to Cavaliers, maybe they could be given Lances and Axes like in Three Houses. Would Sages and Strategists have some differences in Weapon Rank gains on promotion?
  20. That one quest where Rhea of all people wants you to give a couple of your students "herbal remedies" to make them feel more comfortable at the Monastery. And your reward for completing it is a "tasty baked treat".
  21. As in portraits? If you want to participate, don't worry too much about making them fit GBA standards. SRPG Studio games aren't bound by those.
  22. Isn't it normally the case that a year's aging for a human is about 100 years for a Manakete and not 1000? Tiki in Marth's time is about 1100, Myrrh is about 1200, and Nowi is "a thousand ...something". Also, Emiri is the goddess's daughter, right? First of all, this is not an FE8 hack, but an SRPG Studio game like Sanctaea Chronicles, so expect it to look similar. I also very much doubt the Lagdou Ruins are supposed to be a thing, and am unsure as to the nature of the final boss. The idea of including THE Edelgard into the game, playable or enemy, is also problematic. She and Byleth are actual Fire Emblem characters and not based on any user from this site, unlike all of our other applicants so far. Furthermore, among Tears of Serenia's existing classes, she'd probably fit the General class best, but since Generals wield Swords and Lances like in Path of Radiance, she would not be able to use Aymr.
  23. There should not be a deadline in place that I'm aware of. For GBA-style portraits with transparent backgrounds I use Usenti. You can still use it to give your portrait a transparent background even if you're not adhering to GBA Fire Emblem standards.
  24. Guess I might as well pitch in and continue showing my support for these endeavors. Character Name: Von Forum Name: Von Ithipathachai Class: Either an Archer or a pre-promoted Druid (the latter if I end up with an important enough role in the story). Affiliation: Protagonist Recruitment: Automatic Recruitment Time: Mid-game 96 x 96 Face Portrait: In all honesty I'm really flexible on these. Feel free to change my class and recruitment information to whatever you find convenient for the story. The only demand I really have is that my role as the main developer (specifically the one responsible for game design) for the original incarnation of Serenes Forest Emblem be referenced somewhere. Or you could just make me an annoying traveling preacher or something like that who tries to shove SRPG Studio down people's throats. And as some general advice I'd consider imposing some limits on the class composition of the playable roster if possible. I remember in the Serenes Forest Emblem days we had four playable roster applicants who requested Shaman as their class and one who requested Druid, which was ridiculous.
