  1. Banned for remaining in the sun for too long, sir vampire
  2. Yesn't. I come to enjoy more community stuff and sometimes the general story than the actual horror content. Hi there I'm Freddy, wanna come and play
  3. Steve's moveset and details are the best in the game. The community's overhyping him however just like what happened with Hero.
  4. That's a terrible counterargument. I don't want a "waifu to marry" but it's a fact that Female Byleth has more at the moment with an entire character given to you just for picking a female version. More popularity, more support options, more official artwork and more priority. Male Byleth being prioritized is an outlier and always was ever since Three Houses dropped which led to him being vastly overshadowed. You brought up Warriors being a spinoff as a counterargument yet Smash Bros is more of a non canon spinoff with the most outdated viewpoints. Like how it prioritized Male Corrin, lmao.
  5. You say that what I have is insignificant as you hinge on miniscule "marketing" that never advertised Byleth as a character. It was always about Edelgard or the actual game. RHEA and the students had more focus on the teaser trailers than Byleth. Hell, you're randomly bringing up Male Byleth being with the lords in a piece of Cipher art as if that means shit. Female Byleth gets more in the actual Three Houses game with superior amount of supports and an entire character handed to her for free. The fact that you deflected and claimed "iT'S INSIGNIFICANT" says a lot about your little ground if you're denying what's given to her in the actual game she debuted in. If something as insignificant as standing with the lords mean a thing. Then Female Byleth having standalone official art with her and Dimitri, her and Sothis and Female Byleth having an entire duo unit with Rhea: a major character is way more significant than Male Byleth standing there with the 3 major lords' overhead him in the background. Nope, never being false since Female Byleth was prioritized first for alts. That's undeniable and Male Byleth is slugging behind her. No, I can post if I want to. Male Byleth shining more is an outlier, outdated promotion that didn't even fucking focus on Byleth and Smash Bros means nothing since Smash Bros only utilized a default render and prioritized lesser versions before such as Male Corrin. Otherwise Male and Female Byleth had equal presence in the trailer and are both shown together often. I said it's a good thing in response to your claim that "male default" sucks when the male version shining over the female version is a rarity. Only Robin actually deviated from the trend.
  6. So can Female Corrin so no, Male Corrin still has less than Female Corrin. Let me spell it out for you clearly since you don't get it. Female Byleth has: -A bigger support pool in Three Houses -An entire free character that Male Byleth does not get in Three Houses -More official art if you bothered to look at her gallery -More Cipher cards -Superior popularity with the male one completely overshadowed by the fandom -More priority in Heroes, an official Fire Emblem title Male Byleth has: -Showing up in marketing without much new content FOR him, just him existing there while other aspects of the game are highlighted more (Three Houses lords or the Abyss) -Less in support pool, no free recruited character, less official art, less in general community and lesser priority in Heroes. -Smash Bros using his render more. Male Byleth shining more than Female Byleth in new content is 100% an outlier. Usually it's equal or Female Byleth has more. That's a fact. I find it a good thing that Male Byleth got the shine, especially if Nintendo HAD to make just one variant. That's nothing but an assumption from your end to claim I'm happy Female Byleth never got an amiibo period.
  7. I just hope when we reach that point every FE character at least got one variant in Heroes.
  8. It's still prioritization, Female Corrin gets to be in fully animated cutscenes with her brandishing her weapon and interacting with legacy FE characters. Male Corrin doesn't get that. And you can find many people referring to Byleth as a "she", Corrin too. Female Byleth completely snuffs the male in popularity, community content and Heroes. Male deserved the shine especially when it does nothing for Female Byleth's overall popularity. >Female Byleth has more official Cipher based art than Male Byleth along with other pieces of art that the male variant does not have. >Consistently outranking Male in popularity >Utilized more in official FE content and has the priority in alts and content that the male does not. >Has the most options in the actual TH's game too Smash is actually the outlier as the recent trend favors Female completely after Three Houses released.
  9. That argument is terrible. Robin gets to know Chrom way more than Kris does with Marth and Kris butts in scenes with him being prioritized and credited for everything for no good reason. While Chrom goes a majority of his story without Robin being center face in it. Awakening accounted for the avatar far more than New Mystery did.
  10. Oh please, I'm not a misogynist just because I'm arguing in defense of Male Byleth and find his design better. Cut it out with those dumb assumptions. Female Corrin has more action than Male Corrin by the community and literally got prioritized in the main mode than the filler side mode that is History Mode. While Female Corrin is shining in the main narrative and the cutscenes. Also, RARELY AS SHE!? Female Byleth is literally more popular than Male Byleth proven by the constant polls, discussions and fan content of Byleth as a whole. Male Byleth pales in comparison to the amount his female variant had. And you can hinge on "not far behind" yet Female Byleth quickly had priority from Intsys over the male and will remain that way. Being "male default" means nothing either with Smash highlighting both genders of Male and Female on the render art piece with the fighter pass. They are treated equally in Smash with Male Byleth being 10x less popular and cared about than the female version.
  11. Are you seriously trying to imply that they're misogynists because they used a variation of a blank state avatar you don't care for? That's petty as fuck. Outdated promotional material for Three Houses means nothing. Same shit happened with Corrin. They were "even" with the male "always having the limelight" until Male Corrin got completely fucked out of it for the female version due to the community preferring her. Male Byleth having the amiibo means nothing for Female Byleth since she has the most community attention with Intsys actively focusing on her more and more too.
  12. It's a good thing, Male Byleth deserves to have the limelight for a change especially when the female variant unfairly overshadowed him within the community.
  13. In light of recent events, Male Byleth 100% deserves to be the one having a singular amiibo. Female Byleth will go on and still be the most popular, might as well let the better designed character have this.
  14. It is when Kris is undeservingly elevated for it when Kris acts no different from Cain, Draug and others and you don't see Marth treating them like he does Kris despite knowing them longer. Robin by comparison acts as an actual character and actually highlights the oddity of him being relied on and by doing so, strengthened his bond with Chrom.
  15. Robin's a better implemented character since they're more than just a yes man and actually has an excuse to be elevated. Kris has no such excuse, Kris never challenges Marth nor does Marth learn a new lesson from Kris. Which makes sense, Kris never belonged in Marth's story and it was laughable how hard they tried to overplay a presence of a backwater nobody that never joined the first war.
  16. That's how it's always been. Alm and Celica and their flaws were never officially stated to have the need to cover each other. It's a nice thought and cute, but their backgrounds, beliefs and experiences are what make them come together. Alm's view toward the overall conflict was undeniably lacking something that Celica had.
  17. It didn't really flesh out the vast majority of Archanea characters though. Hell, a lot of it was just regurgitated info we already had in FE3. There's a few exceptions but in the majority of cases... Archanea's cast only has a small few worth a damn in terms of characters with MEAT to them you know? And I love Archanea's characters. Of course characters don't need to be fleshed out. Echoes had plenty of simplistic characters, but I prefer how SOV handled them in comparison to the Archanea games. We actually get to KNOW each character's story and their background even if most of them aren't too special (for example. Atlas' simple background). In terms of customization? Absolutely! In terms of actual character and things like that. That's just not true.
  18. Shadow Dragon has its charm as a one time thing and I can cut it some slack since it was Intsys' first FE remake. New Mystery has no excuses however.
  19. But the "dating sim" mechanics work for what it is. The Support system entirely exists for interactions and potentially pairing up characters depending on the game. It's not a full fledged dating sim which makes sense since you're playing a game that's in the midst of a war.
  20. Making Fire Emblem a Persona clone would be the worst thing to happen to FE. Persona works for what it is since they never gunned for a medieval esque war and the entire "conflict" isn't even in the real world.
  21. Ah yes, prioritize going full dating sim and making it a fully fleshed out mechanic rather than the gameplay and horrors of war narrative. Perfect. Really good... lmao.
  22. I know that balance will never be perfect. I love SOV so I have no room to try and bitch about Fates for having "poor balance". That'd be hypocritical. I just don't like pair up. From the terrible character breaking animations to it being shoved down my throat with no alternatives when Fates is ALREADY stacked with so many mechanics and stuff to worry about. It's also silly how whoever you pair up with is completely invincible. I only prefer adjutants because it doesn't waste deployment slots and happens to be optional. If fully realized it could be a better system than pair up. I just didn't feel the need to because I slapped a lot more takes in this unpopular opinions thread without any opposition and I didn't need to elaborate on those. Glad you agree regarding pair up, it takes me out of my immersion and isn't at the very least optional. If I keep units near each other for building support strats or trying to abuse some ally bonus or something... Too bad, I'm stuck with pair up. And enemies are commonly near each other too so they're either automatically paired up or pair up due to being near each other.
  23. I don't need to "justify" my view, pair up is a gimmicky bad system that changes a lot of the balance to even unit placement and is a waste of resources.
  24. Having to constantly interact with a terrible mechanic isn't exactly going to make the appeal skyrocket but whatever. Still find it terrible and shoving it down my throat will not help with such matters. As stated before, I prefer adjutants for this very reason since it doesn't bend a lot of the game's balance to significantly include pair up. Which is just your subjective take like how pair up being an unnecessary nuisance is my own subjective opinion. It's a waste of resources and effort that can go to other things.
  25. I was speaking in hypotheticals regarding the system. If it received an opportunity to improve itself like pair up did, I'm sure it'd be a lot better for many who don't care for it. And I find it better purely because it's optional and not another gimmicky mechanic shoved down my throat like pair up is. Not EVERY mechanic that changes up the gameplay is good, why do people keep claiming this? If that was the case, anything that mixed up the way someone played would be good like Cantors. I find pair up a tedious chore and I do not care for it. And saying something is terrible is fine, especially in a thread that's all about sharing "hot takes" and "unpopular opinions" it's not objective and you aren't wrong for immediately disagreeing.
