How come 15 seconds is too short? A sneak peek at the world and a title would be a perfect teaser. Tells you just enough that you wanna know more.

In my case teasers don't really get my hyped, so I'd prefer them taking the fates route and release a trailer directly. I mean, seriously, how much can they show in 15 seconds? A landscape? A single battle? It would give me more irritation than curiosity.

I'm going to have to second @Soanevalcke6 here-- what's with the hate for him? Are people so petty to hate him because he does the art for SAO manga adaptions?

In my case, I don't like nor dislike SAO, I  didn't even know that he made the adaptations until this thread.

My problem is with his style, previous artists had a distinctive art style compared to the standard manga/anime, including Kozaki, even if some people don't want to admite it, but his art doesn't have nothing special, there's a lot of people who draw like that. He is good portraying emotions, I'll give him that, but I find Narcian's expressions too exagerated for a portrait.

In other words, maybe he is good as a manga artist, but I don't like him as character designer.

  3. Realistically, Genealogy of the Holy War.

I'd love another of Mystery of the emblem though, I know it's unlikely as it already has one, but seriously, the ds games were really lame esthetically, not only the combats were unimpresive, but the portraits were liveless too, and of course, we only received the game lacking supports and other mechanics, so the Akaneia games hardly receive love from the western community, are the DS titles even considered to be classic fe games?

You simply can't be the "Strongest Hero" when people like Hartmut, Altina (the gal that fought using two broadsword at the same time) and Anri (specially Anri, the guy that killed dragons without special weapons... alone) had existed in the FE Universe.

    Didn't Anri use Falchion?

FE2 - Alm. Singlehandedly beats his dad in basketball, then goes and kills a Divine Dragon.

FE13 - Hard to say outside of Robin or Grima, who break the "No magical help" thing. Walhart is definitely up there in terms of how the lore builds him. He's kind of a pansy from a gameplay perspective, though.

FE2 - His father let him kill him, though.

FE13 - Aside from them, Chrom, for reasons already statsed in other comments, and Lucina who seems to be around his level, the next one whould probably be Basilio, and we know what happened when he went against Walhart.

But . . . I liked Ephraim's Awakening art. Thought it was the best along with Alm's.

Still not gonna pass judgement, though. Stranger things have happened in gaming.

I think that's a popular opinion, not mine though, not with that face and color/ilumination/something that I can't identify.

Personally, I found Roy's much better.

Well, the main point of Archers in this game is to be able to attack from further away than normal melee weapons, but the other point is to be a hard check against fliers. Bows and the Wind element often do that in Fire Emblem games so they share a function. Having the Archers use wind as part of their moveset wouldn't be too farfetched by that logic.

There's also the fact that Sakura and Anna actually have some magic power (tremenduous ones in Sakura's case) so while Takumi can do all the wind stuff because of his weapon, the other two could conceivably pull off the Fuujin Yumi's feats due to magic (and the power of being a playable character in a Musou game).

But they can't use magic because they don't have tomes, right? That's what they said about Celica's moveset after all...

Seriously, don't justify something like giving the fujin moveset to every archer.

    B. So what? She has two swords, so they went with a dual-wielding style.

You don't really think it is a coincidence, do you? I mean, leaving aside if he was going to be playable (which isn't hard to believe having 3 SD characters), the moveset was clearly made with him in mind, they can't simply go dual-wielding style if there is no dual-wielding in the first place.

Promoted Camilla  so I guess they do get really different designs on promotions in this game

I don't really like that armor, it stands out too much, it's too obvious that it was designed by diferent people, too over the top imo.

Also, I've been thinking this for a while, but doesn't her waist look too long?

look at how this game handled fates

    no daggers
    no ninjas
    no unique hoshidan crazy magic
    no beastmen
    no oni savages
    no azura
no unique classes whatsoever besides the ones that are basically stand-ins for other classes already, and in the way that they're presented the difference between camilla and a theoretical other wyvern knight IF WE HAD ONE would be practically nil

i'd almost hazard a guess that if this game had had tellius it probably wouldn't have had laguz either way

I said I like the three games approach, not that I like how they handle it. I hate not having beastmen, but that's not a fate's problem, awakening doesn't have Panne either, I hate not having scrolls, I've complained about it in the past, i don't really care about oni, the only one is Rinka and she wouldn't have been in even with a bigger roster, there's no excuse for not having Azura, and I have mixed feelings about daggers. We might have some of these things through DLC though, so I'll wait until we see which fates characters they are including.

We also have clones, and seeing that it isn't something that has to do with Fates per se, I'd say that would have happened even if we had a bit from each game. Now yo can beging to think about people's reaction at finding that Eirika and Roy also have Marth's moveset, Micaiah has Robin's and you can imagine the rest.

I don't know if you can really hope for a sequel.  I haven't followed the news too closely, but I though this was just a one-off spinoff.

They said (at the beginning, so they might have changed opinion) that they might do a sequel because they knew that a lot of people liked older characters, or something like that.

Having a few from each game would be the fairest way to appease the older fans.  Having half the roster come from just one game seems like pandering to fans of just that game, and I can understand the older players feeling slighted.

I can understand too, but I would be saying the same if the game was about Elibe/Tellius/Valentia because no one remembers Magvel.

A few characters from each game wouldn't feel good to me, I don't want to have Tellius if I'm not going to have at least one Laguz, for example. I prefer them focusing in three games and wait for a sequel than not having much more tha the MC.

  12. Personally, I don't like the approach of having a bit of each game, as there are lots of great characters that would be lost, and having three games is the limit for it. It's true that the fates sibling take a big part of the roster, so another game might have been bether, but seeing that Camilla and Takumi are the characters with the most interesting moveset to me, I can't really say that I'd prefer any other.

  13. Good, they said that it was going to be about SD, Awakening and Fates, so at least those should have a good enough representation (something they don't have in this moment), now if they announce a sequel in the future with other games in it everything will be alright (not really, they have messed up lots of things, but it would solve some of them)

Anyway, this makes kinda obvious that Lyn and Celica are late additions imo.

Thats fair, sorry I kinda jumped the gun in calling people out.

I just have my own personal salt to deal with in terms of this game for once, and thats the cloney movesets, making me mildly unreasonable at points and I apologize.

Don't worry, most people have something to be salty about when it comes to this game.

Personally, I don't like having clones either, specially when it's a character that should be unique, be it because it's a main character or because it has a prf weapon. At the very least Lyn stands out more than the other clones, because her specials are more over the top as they come from the GBA.

We still don't know if Navarre is even playable, he could potentially be an NPC . While its likely he is and he is shown dual wielding in art and the OVA, I'm still not going to call it 100% confirmed until I see it properly.

I guess thats just me being an information person, even with the potential and high chances, I like seeing before I start saying things like this explicitly.

I know that he might be an NPC, in fact "don't be hyped yet" it's the very first thing I thought when his leak appeared, it's just that, if he were to be playable, it doesn't seems fair to me to call Lyn the original just because she was announced first.
