seriously the world building alone and the existence of fates make radiant dawn's story seem so much better in hindsight without any nostalgia involved

1. Jugdral: By far the best stories in the series with nothing even coming close. Very well written characters. Lots of great villains and not everything in the story is totally black and white and many of the nations had their own reasons for fighting. 2. Tellius: Pretty good world building, a decent amount of pretty good characters. Not a fan of most of the villains in these games at all though. Naesala was dope though. There was some dumb shit in Radiant Dawn so there's a few things that do make me put this below Jugdral. I will say though I never finished Path of Radiance but I got pretty far and I pretty much know what happened. 3. Echoes: It's a pretty decent story and the world was expanded upon a good amount with the remake. The game definitely had some pretty likable characters in it. Not a lot to say about it really. 4. Awakening: Wasn't sure whether to put this here or not just because I think this game's story could have been so much better if it were separated into two games, one for the Plegia arc with some other shit added in and one for the Valm arc. I truly believe the Valm arc as it's own game with more time for everything to be expanded upon would have made for an incredible Fire Emblem game and would have had one of the best stories in all of the games if done right. There was so much room to expand on everything there but it was stuck as only like 10 chapters and then it just felt rushed and all over the place. Overall the story is good enough but not that great. 5. Elibe: FE7's story is kinda generic but pretty good. FE6 Roy is a trash ass character and unit. Not a whole lot to say other than the games had some pretty likable characters but the stories weren't too special. 6. Sacred Stones: Less MarySue/GaryStew and the game would have had a bit better of a story. The game had some good villains but Lyon being possessed by an evil demon is fucking stupid. Don't see why they couldn't have just given him his own legit reasons for fighting and turning on Eirika and Ephraim 7. Archanea: Pretty generic which makes sense for two of the first games. Really pretty much nothing at all to say 8.Birthright: Nothing happened. Nothing at all. There was seemingly no reason for almost anything that happened in this game. What is there even to say here? 9. Revelation: This game's story was fucking stupid and horribly written. Corrin as always does nothing. Everyone just blindly trusts each other just because. There's no interesting character dynamics, there's no interesting villains and there's way more that could have been done here. 10. Conquest: Fuck this game's story. This game had so much potential to have such a good story. It was finally a game being told from the perspective of the "villain" which would be a great concept but they fucked it up. Instead you have this shitty ass character with no resolve who doesn't ever do anything and every battle it's just "oh no, we have to spare them to win over hoshido!!". Actually the worst possible thing you could do for this game. It could have been taken in so many directions. One direction it could have been taken in would be actually going in and being conquerors and just conquering Hoshido for the good of the land of Nohr. They could have even taken it in a similar direction to Southern Thracia where Nohr is a much more poor region with less agriculture and resources and they want to conquer Hoshido to gain resources the help the country of Nohr prosper and to help the people of Nohr. Instead there's no good reason given for even fighting other than that both sides want this shitty ass character Corrin. This game could have even been taken in the direction of the characters deciding they really disagree with Nohr and their ideals and they decide that they'll start a rebellion to create a new kingdom of Nohr and it could be taken in more of a civil war direction like that which also would have been really fucking cool although it kind of conflicts with the ideas of Birthright and Revelation. Honestly if these game weren't building up to Revelation and Garon wasn't a slime monster and Anankos weren't there the game would have been so much better but they have to add all this stupid bullshit to the game to ruin it. I've never been so disappoined with a game's story. I have no hope for any Fire Emblem story after they fucked this one up so bad.

was between jamke and shin because both are actually just incredible units but i just went with jamke since i played genealogy more recently. shin carries every binding blade playthrough though because he's a broken unit who deserves more love. some of the highest atk and spd for me every time while also having incredible skill and being pretty tanky

glad to see a few votes coming through for homer. also lute being the most popular mage still confuses me considering how hard she gets outclassed by saleh

i've seen people get into fist fights over sports teams before. what does that have to do with anything here? people go to sports games and get drunk and get super passionate about their teams and decide they want to get in a fight. people who harass women are widely condemned by nearly everyone and if any man gets physical with a woman on the streets that guy is gonna get the shit beaten out of him by many people 9/10 times. im not telling people to suck it up and deal with it if they're being harassed in real life, but in an online game it's not that big of a deal. people just need to know going into it, yeah sometimes people are gonna be pieces of shit and it sucks but there's not a lot you can do and these game companies are attempting to do something about it. in every online game i can think of people do get punished for trolling or making racist or sexist comments. im also aware that fanservice can turn people away from the series but what you were saying was that it specifically turns women away from the series. i also think you're missing my point about the older fire emblem games. when those came out there was still a disparity between the genders on who was buying and playing those games. therefore, fanservice most likely isnt the reason girls are less into the fire emblem series.

if you dont include mobile games men play more video games than women in general and this is for sure true for the jrpg genre. the series is also targeted towards male audiences. it's not just fire emblem really, look at almost any other game and the wide majority of players will also be male. i highly doubt that women dominate the visual novel genre either The industry targets males because males are generally more interested in gaming. There's misogyny, homophobia, and racism in these communities because they're generally online and people are anonymous which enables trolls. It's inevitable any time anyone is anonymous and game companies generally try to deal with these kinds of things going on in their games but sometimes you need to just suck it up and deal with it. It's not just women that experience this shit either by the way. I get flamed and called a "faggot" or racial slurs in online games too, just like anyone else, regardless of gender or race. It's really not hard to understand at all. You can't really say shit about the "sexualized female characters" causing the lack of women in the Fire Emblem community either because there's fan service for them too. They make male characters that appeal to female audiences as well. I guarantee you if you made characters less sexualized it wouldn't change shit. If it did why didn't more women play older Fire Emblem games? they weren't nearly as sexualized then and there was still a disparity between males and females in the Fire Emblem community. This has all been broken down so many times before. Also games are targeted at males because males are the main audience for video games. They always have been even since the beginning of gaming with arcades and old consoles like the atari or the nes. you'd also have to remove magic and magic imbued legendary weapons and dragons and the fire emblem and all that shit MODEDIT: dude

i haven't played RD in forever but didnt tibarn try to kill soren or some shit? i dont quite remember exactly why i liked him so much but i feel like i remember something like that and that would probably be why i liked him

1. first played this game in 2015 or something but lost the save when i was at around chapter 9 or 10, picked it back up a few months ago and played up to chapter 20 then continued the second half of genealogy. plan to return after completing the last couple of chapters of genealogy. 2. i just saw all the fire emblem games that existed and i thought thracia 776 seemed pretty cool i guess 3. i play it on a rom 4. played it before genealogy originally then lost the save. started playing it again then decided i should probably play genealogy first when i was pretty early on in the game then continued up to chapter 20 after completing chapter 6 of genealogy 5. not my first fe game 6. haven't finished the game yet 7. ive poured quite a few hours into this game while holding the holy speed up button nearly the entire game 8. i missed 8x because i went tard mode 9. i have not yet recruited all characters. 10. for recruitable units i think i'd prefer the A path because i would love eyrios if i used him, a tanky mage knight sounds like a godsend in this game but i had already trained olwen enough that i didn't want to kill her off for him but if i ever played the game i'd take the A path for eyrios. also the A path looks like it has more fun maps and there's no guarantee mareeta will be blessed enough in my next run that i can warp her into the place with amalda and the cavaliers and ballista and have her wipe the whole cavalry unit as an unpromoted myrmidon in the chapter with amalda. 11. i really like movement stars, capturing, and stealing. 12. i dont like fatigue or how limited knight crests are, i think it would be better to just include a couple more knight crests especially with the existence of the fatigue system, but of all the features i hate the most i fucking hate not being able to reposition units. being unable to reposition has fucked me over so many times 13. i would only want the capture mechanic to return if it was done well. i want stealing to return in general. pretty hard to screw up and i enjoyed it as a mechanic. 14. i think fe5 really did live up to it's potential 15. not sure if i would say it has the best gameplay ideas but i think it has great gameplay ideas and was a very innovative game 16. in no way is this game the most balanced fe game outside of maybe the scroll system helping to allow you to use any unit effectively with scroll abuse 17. this game is really really hard but it isn't just artificial difficulty 18. no one should play fe5 blind 19. my advice would be capture/steal, scroll abuse, and make sure you dont pass up on any scrolls or knight crests if possible. 20. my favorite character personality wise might be someone like homer, he dead ass joins your army just because he wants to fuck nanna 21. my favorite character gameplay wise would probably be someone like mareeta just because she's such a good unit and carries my ass through maps 22. in this playthrough my mvps have been homer, asvel, and mareeta. 23. not sure 24. not sure 25. not sure 26. i really like the art in this game 27. love the story 28. 9/10 29. 9/10 30. 9/10 31. doesn't need a remake but it would be really cool if it got one 32. yes, the story translation is fine but every thing else for the most part outside of character names is bugged text 33. i'd definitely replay this game

just gonna reply to the part about sophia and say i would consider using that garbage unit if the true god ray wasn't in the game already making her completely pointless

i like it for the diverse objectives, the capture system, the difficulty, the story, and the feeling that you're actually at a disadvantage makes it much more satisfying to actually complete the maps. i wouldn't want this in every fire emblem game but i like it for this one and think it works really well for this particular game. the difficulty also isn't just artificial difficulty created by giving enemies just absurd stats and skills either, it's actually difficulty that comes from actually having to strategize to beat the maps. this is a kind of small thing but i also really like the scrolls. feels like with scrolls you can use anyone if you're really committed to using that unit. the game has its flaws like the absurd amount of rng in the game but i think it more than makes up for them.

i dont know if i'd even call homer the worst of the sages, my homer capped mgc/skl/spd/lck by level 2 promoted and still had 11 defense and 40 hp, although i did scroll abuse a little bit so that might be what's making the difference. just scroll abused him because i love homer and wanted to make sure he'd be a god

just gonna start by saying priscilla isnt underrated or overlooked at all, seems to me like she's very widely considered to be considerably better than serra and is generally considered to be one of the best units in the game. i think benny got sorta overlooked in conquest because of effie but from my experience he's significantly better than effie in every way and can basically solo the game. objectively one of the most overlooked characters would be eyrios in thracia because olwen has to either be dead or not recruited to get eyrios.

if they're gonna do this im hoping for dope units like danved, brom, alan, tormod, and makalov. also naesala or tibarn ghb would be lit if they did one. too bad none of this will ever happen just like the thracia banner
