What are your thoughts on AI-generated works?
Perkilator replied to indigoasis's topic in Serious Discussion
You have no idea how angry I am about the trend of using AI to replace a human’s efforts. -
This was originally teased during the February 2023 Direct, with a grown-up Shulk and Rex and a mysterious new character. This is expanded upon here, along with several new characters. They also announced Amiibo of Noah and Mio… …along with the release date for Pyra and Mythra, which will be released as a double pack.

The Mario movie is currently on track to potentially make $1 billion before it even sees its Japanese release, so future Nintendo movies seem pretty much inevitable with that much success. So, I wanted to ask you guys: what other Nintendo movie projects do you think are likely or would like to see? For me: Likely: A Zelda movie, since it's Nintendo's other big cash cow. Would like: A Kirby movie loosely based on Kirby's Adventure.

The Mario Movie grosses $1 billion worldwide
Perkilator replied to Perkilator's topic in Entertainment
Yeah, at this rate I think this is going to cross $1 billion before it even hits Japan. -
Yes, this is a real headline. I know Sonic Frontiers and the Sonic movies were widely successful, but even then, that is a shocking amount of money.

This movie, ladies and gents, just became one of the highest-grossing animated movies ever made. Even for Mario, this is monolithic.

What if Ultimate had another year of development?
Perkilator replied to Perkilator's topic in Super Smash Bros.
Octoling I can’t really comment on, but Shadow and Zack weren’t Echoes because I wanted to use Eggman and Sephiroth as DLC, just to make their respective roles as the “second character in a 3rd party franchise who isn’t an Echo” feel more special since they’re two of the most iconic villains in gaming. -
In your opinion, what's the "ideal" point in time for your most wanted to be introduced? More accurately, which Smash game feels the most appropriate time in which to introduce them? This has to be a Smash game that already released, from 64 to Ultimate. For me: 64 Meowth Melee Scizor Ayumi Tachibana Brawl Totodile Grovyle 3DS / Wii U Rayman Azura Ultimate Bandana Waddle Dee Alph (as an Echo) Crash Bandicoot Estelle Bright Dr. Eggman

Weird Spinoff Ideas That You Think Could Actually be Really Good
Perkilator replied to vanguard333's topic in General Gaming
Here's an intertesting idea: what if Sparks of Hope was a musou, but still had shades of the Kingdom Battle's XCOM-like gameplay? -
The Super Mario Bros. Movie just released in the United States. Without spoiling anything, those of you who have seen the movie, what’s your opinion on it? I’m going to see it on Saturday, so I don’t have my own opinion on it yet.

If anything, they should rely less on pre-existing IP’s, especially live-action remakes thereof. It seems, ironically, their remakes are contributing to the negative opinions on animation as a medium.

Following on from my Melee thread a year back, what if Ultimate had another year, too? Now, I'm not insinuating Ultimate needed another year, like I did with Melee. I moreso wanted to entertain the idea for the sake of a "what-if" scenario. Now, I'm going to lay a few ground rules: "Everyone is Here!" isn't going away. The base game will cap off at Fighters #71-75, the same number of fighters in Fighters Pass Vol. 1. Speaking of, there are still only 2 Fighters Passes, only this time, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 both have 6 DLC fighters each. My interpretation strives to be as realistic as possible, but with some self-indulgence. If you have your own interpretation, I'm all for it, but I only ask that you don't get too unrealistic. Without further ado: Newcomers Modes New stages Bosses DLC

…And yes, this is indeed a real game. Either way, I guess those people who were hoping for Sonic to kick the bucket got their wish, technically?

Can’t say I’m surprised, but I’m a bit sad nonetheless.

This was anoher character concept I've been wanting to do, but I didn't want to do it too soon after Noah & Mio. I'm going to write this more straightforward (i.e. won't be going into as much detail with attributes and the like) because that's the kind of way I think. The character I'm writing about today is Estelle Bright from the Trails series! Estelle's moveset Stage: Arseille Music Classic Mode: The Smash Guild (fights characters loosely referencing other Nihon Falcom games in 150HP Stamina battles) Spirits

Well, I guess it depends.

This is a trend that started on Twitter recently. If I had any artistic skills, I’d totally take a crack at this!

WARNING: This topic contains massive story spoilers for Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Don’t click the any of the spoiler tabs unless you’ve played the game. This has been your warning. I haven't personally played Xenoblade Chronicles 3, but I do know about plenty of key moments due to my research for Smash. As far as gameplay, the idea I had in this case is Noah & Mio sharing a slot, similar to Pyra & Mythra, but they switch with Shield + B instead of Down + B. So what about how they actually play individually, as well as other Xenoblade 3-related content? That's what we're dipping into right now, with most of their moveset based on an article by Source Gaming. Main attributes + alts Noah's moveset Mio's moveset Stage: Erythia Sea Music Classic Mode: A Class of Our Own Spirits

Decided to follow up on this with a moveset largely based on the one Source Gaming did. Main attributes Noah's moveset Mio's moveset

Which Matters More: Content or Graphics?
Perkilator replied to vanguard333's topic in General Gaming
They’re both equally important, and as such, I see them as two things that should compliment each other. -
Delzethin just did his take on redesigning Sonic's moveset.
