    Soren's hair is fabulous!  😛

It's natural to want to vent.  The question is how it's done, and why.  The second post by this guy is far more telling than the first when it comes to motivation.  IMO that kind of mentality tends to be unhappy in gacha games in general. . .and I'd much rather people be happy than get mad at a glorified RNG.  That's what Jugdral is for.

Well I felt the second reply was more like ( screw this place they are yelling for posting my feels). While, sure, not the best way to do it, but I really don’t think it was their intention. And people forget that gacha game are basically rage games with micro transactions

Because the game owes no one anything outside of its own pull rules.  Complain if the New Heroes freebie isn't a banner character, or you chose a red orb and Jagen pops out.  Not getting what you want is nature of gacha, and it's clearly not for everyone.

Well not quite the same, way back when they did the Short hair ladies and long hair gents banners. I pulled Soren out of the ladies summon. I felt pretty pissed at that one. But I know how irritating it can be, sometimes you just need to vent

  4. Pal, as mean as it sounds, you gotta make a choice. When people say suck it up or quit... that really is the only options. So think are you having enough fun to justify playing? Despite my love of FE, I hate Heroes so I don’t play it. When I tried it I was like you. I never got anything good just Lonqu and Mathew over and over again. In the end you and you alone gotta make that call.

Really?! So only one Luka song? That's sad. Well I got it back when it was first coming out cause the pre order came with vocaloid keychains. I just never got the PS4 to play it lol. I still want to try it.

Do you think Mirai is worth grabbing? I have a DS....maybe I should go for it. I didn't also like the initial cover since they were all chibi (but not the cute kind. The bobble head kind)

If you like Vocaloids/Rhythm games then I would suggest it. It worth the play, you can mostly tune out the graphics while playing a song anyways.

Maiko only got one song in X and it technically wasn’t even solo. She had Rin and Len as backup singers

I don't know about X (if you are talking about the 3DS one) since I didn't play that. I want to and am going to at some point get the PS4 so I can play the 3rd one. So far I've played a few songs and I like it. Easy surprisingly turned out to be more challenging then before. You can also change the buttons designs so instead of A or B flying across the screen you can set it up like the PlayStation and have square and triangle or even set up arrows! I'm using arrows. Sadly the button sound fx have to be manually changed for each song 😞 it takes menu time to do it. I'm digging it so far and feel it plays just like the Sony ones. It had more button push types making it more challenging. Plus it has two models, button presses and joy con motion presses. Kinda like that VR game for the headset

However, how they calculate the score is super horrendous. I'm so not liking that part

X is the ps4 game, it had a poor selection of songs and any non-Miku characters only got like 1 solo song. The DS game was Project Mirai

  7. Well, I’ll let you know I’m grateful for this topic. I don’t keep up with game news so I didn’t know a new project diva came out. So yup, I’m currently downloading now... stupid slow switch download speed... but is this one better then X was? I really didn’t care much for it, F and F 2nd where so much better in my mind.

In other words , hope we all can speak politely to each other.

Everyone have their tastes. Like music.

Yea, it’s up to each person to do it as well. Characters I like are being disliked here and I know characters I dislike are liked too. But I find it interesting to hear people’s reason why and honest feeling and word may cause more fights, it is easier to understand why they dislike them.

@ciphertul I was recently watching a brand new anime on Netflix called Drifting Dragons. The premise is a fantasy world where dragons are hunted using airships in a manner reminiscent of 17th-18th Century whaling. The story follows the crew of one of the last "Draking" ships that isn't owned by a company.

It's a surprisingly lighthearted fantasy slice-of-life story with a fun cast of characters, and the dragon hunting makes for some decent action. The animation is incredibly beautiful, especially for a fully-CG anime. It's a fun show to watch that I would recommend.

Fair warning though: it's brand new. So far, there are only 12 episodes, and Netflix initially had to put in warnings to the viewers that the episodes couldn't be released all at once because of... current circumstances.

EDIT: Another fair warning: whatever image comes to your mind when you hear the word, "dragons"; the dragons in this show do not look like whatever you're picturing at all. Though honestly, with how unique the designs are, and how they come in lots of different shapes and sizes, it doesn't matter.

Well, after playing Dragon Star Varnir, I just think “dragon” might be a state of mind. I know there is a few mangas I’ve read that I would like to see an anime of. Hopefully these will come to pass.

Yeah, it's frankly a shame that it happened.

IS: Hey Game Freak, we wanna make a Pokemon -- Fire Emblem crossover!

Game Freak: Sorry, we've already got a strategy game crossover.

IS: Shoot. Guess we'll go with SMT then. What's the worst that could happen?

I mean, hey, why not to the extra mile and make a Fire Emblem x Rune Factory too. That way people can’t complain about child characters! Only slightly joking

@ciphertul I just recently finished Record of Grancrest War. I can understand why you disliked it, but I have to say that I really enjoyed it; easily the best anime I've recently seen, though that's not saying much, as the other anime I've recently seen are Code Geass and season 1 of Fairy Tail

One thing that I particularly liked about it was that Theo Cornaro (the protagonist) and Siluca (the leading lady) are completely open and honest about their feelings towards each other, get together as early as episode 9, and stay together for the whole show with no forced relationship or any bs romantic-subplot clichés; instead just being a really sweet romance.

I had to double-check with people who know a lot more about anime than I do, and they all said that it's pretty much unheard of for an anime to do that.

All that matters is that you enjoyed it, I honestly didn’t like siluca. I have mostly jumped over to reading a few mangas. It’s sad that most of the shows on crunchyroll are female leads. While there isn’t anything wrong with that, as a guy, i prefer male leads

  12. Sacred Stones hands down. I’ve played no other game as much. I somehow killed 3 separate game cartridges because I played it so much. I love the characters, the story, and it’s the only one that truly allows both full training and restrictions. And the only one of the two that had a post game. But both Tellius game are right behind it.

  13. A very hard question, More characters the more you can experiment but the more you’ll likely have a few ringers. Like Tales of Symphonia I rarely ever used anyone outside of my main party, and that even holds true when I played Persona 5 too. But I think the more characters it has the better it does. You could always pull a Star Ocean faithlessness and have all party members fighting or even like Infinite Undiscovery and have multiple partys

Oh. Okay. Glad you found it funnier than you expected. Sad that you found the story a bit lacking. Though, I must ask, what did you at least think of the following moments:

      Reveal hidden contents

Saitama vs Boros. Saitama finds the most powerful enemy the earth has ever seen: a galactic conqueror with a similar dilemma as Saitama, and who himself came to Earth because he was told he would finally meet an opponent that would make him have to give his all. The frankly amazing fight happens, and Boros really did find his opponent in Saitama, but Boros could not be that opponent for Saitama.

As it turns out, Saitama, despite putting more effort into it than any other fight since he got his powers, was still holding back to give Boros the fight of his life; the very thing Saitama so desperately craves. Unlike every other fight, where Saitama just leaves and forgets the villain he fought, Saitama actually stuck around, and remembered Boros afterward.

      Reveal hidden contents

The meteor arc. Saitama obliterates the meteor that was going to destroy the city, but the debris still lands everywhere and destroys chunks of the city, leaving many angry at Saitama. Those two Tank-Top brothers decide to use the opportunity to try to rookie-crush Saitama, and Saitama delivers his speech about how he doesn't care if they hate him or not; he didn't become a hero for that, but because he wanted to.

Anyway, I still highly recommend Violet Evergarden. It is a fantastic show.

On the first point: while it was a crazy fight scene the end of it still felt the same. More or less Saitama kinda just humored him. I did dislike the whole fact that they both not only have the same problem but then both has the same prophecy told to them.

Second point: a little to real to be honest, it shows  the true nature of humans. I did like the fact that Saitama plays the villain. Just like he does against the deep sea king.

Season 2 is good. Just, don't expect the same level of quality as season 1. The animation quality takes a noticeable dip, and it has a very rushed pacing compared to season 1, as if it's desperate to get from point A to point B.

You're right about the show asking what it means to be a hero. Thanks. That makes three things.

Well, I watched season 1 of One Punch, and well I was right on my thoughts overall  on the story. Was funnier then I thought thou. Outside of Mumin I really didn’t care much for the supporting cast.

  16. 46 minutes ago, vanguard333 said:

    Okay.

I think there are two things about One-Punch Man that fill in that area you're describing:

    1. The supporting cast: If you watched One-Punch Man, you may have noticed that the show gradually focuses less and less on Saitama himself and gives more screen-time to the other heroes; usually in the form of them getting beaten by that arc's main villain. That's not an accident; in comedic terms, they are the setup; Saitama is simply the punchline. But it's a lot more than that; it also adds a new layer of tension in each arc. For instance, in the Deep Sea King arc, we know Saitama would be able to beat the Deep Sea King, so the story tension instead comes from whether or not he can make it in time while all these other heroes that are there try to protect everyone. One of my favourite moments in the whole show comes from that very arc: it's the scene where Mumen Rider: one of the weakest heroes in the entire Hero Association, tries to fight the Deep Sea King. He's badly outmatched and has no chance, and, as it turns out, he knows that. But he has to try anyway, and he delivers a very heartfelt speech about exactly why he still has to try.

    2. Saitama's Character Struggle: One of the best aspects of the show is that it's very self-aware (that's the point of parody). Saitama's OP, he knows it, and he very much dreads it. They take his OP nature to the logical extreme for comedy, but they also direct it inward and ask how Saitama feels about it, and his struggle is very interesting. When he was just a normal salaryman, he was depressed by how powerless he was and how he didn't really have any motivation to keep going. Now, he finally got his wish and is the strongest hero, and he's now depressed by how powerful he is and how he doesn't have any motivation to keep going. The fights are over in one punch, so he doesn't get the satisfaction of a good fight. There's no sign of the evils of the world disappearing, so he doesn't have the satisfaction of knowing he's accomplishing something good, and he doesn't even get the credit for his heroics (at first). At the same time, he still has to live in the world: he lives in an abandoned part of the city because the rent's cheap, he keeps track of grocery sales, and at one point, he's more concerned with giving a cashier exact change than he is with the giant monster that just flattened the entrance to the store.

I'm probably not doing a great job explaining either of these aspects of the show, but trust me when I say that the show is not lacking.

It’s all about how it comes off, and it comes off differently to each viewer. To me, it’s oh woe is me I’m too strong and nothing is enjoyable anymore. Whining about something that he himself did is, well something that I just find irritating. If you want to apply the supporting cast in to, then I find Overlord and Slime very hard to beat. Both shows have fantastic casts. Each has characters I flat out love. I’ll probably watch it eventually but it’s not high up on the priority list.

  17. 1 hour ago, vanguard333 said:

Oh. Okay. Yeah; it did seem more like a decision written because they couldn't think of another way to keep the conflict going than a decision written because it would fit the characters; hence the comparison to the Euphemia Incident in Code Geass.

Anyway, what did you think of my other two suggestions (One-Punch Man and Violet Evergarden)?

I have never heard of Violet Evergarden, so I’ll have to look it up.

One Punch Man, is a different can o’ worm. When I compare it to other OP style anime it seems... weaker. Like the other OP ones I have watched(they are all ieseki) all have something else to challenge them. In Overlord, you watch it for the moral struggle that Ains has. In Slime, it the way Ririmu has the diplomatic approach and trying to find peace. In Death March, he actively tries to hide the fact that he is OP and attempts to find other ways. So the just finding a stronger enemy isn’t that interesting. I know it’s a parody show but... I still need a bit more.

Got it. I understand; that honestly sounds a lot like me when I saw Code Geass; after the Euphemia Incident, I just couldn't keep watching.

Also, I just finished episode 9 of Grancrest War (and I'm guessing by that statement about Marinne that you and I share similar sentiments about a certain scene in that episode); all the more reason I understand.

Wait; there's more than one season? Netflix lists it all as one 24-episode season, and when I checked Wikipedia, it lists just 24 episodes. Were they originally split into two parts?

Yes. They had a 12 episode season at first, then after a wait then did 12 more. That scene, I just felt it ruined Marinne character I had like her before but... not after that

I was the one that mentioned One-Punch Man, and thanks for concurring; it is a fantastic show (although season 2 felt like it was rushing to get from point a to point b).

As for Death Note, I wish I could concur, but I saw maybe the first half of the first episode before stopping it and deciding it wasn't my cup of tea. I guess I'm not really into stories where the protagonist is a serial killer with a death book given to him by a grim reaper, and I thought I could look past it for the cat-and-mouse-detective aspect of the show, but I guess I couldn't.

Anyway, one anime that I've been watching recently, though I'm torn on whether or not I want to recommend it as I haven't finished it, is one called Record of the Grancrest War. I'm currently on episode 8, and it's fairly interesting so far. I've seen 10-minute video reviews describe it as "anime Game of Thrones" but that only really conveys certain aspects of the show; namely the political intrigue. There's action, but it's not Shonen action; it's more like an anime fantasy war story, with battlefields, sieges, tactics, formations, etc. The characters are fairly interesting and the story is alright so far (minus some issues I have with its opening 10 minutes).

If I had to describe my main problem with it, it would be the pacing. Shows like Game of Thrones (in its early seasons when it wasn't bad) and such with warfare and political intrigue usually have a nice slow pace so the audience can absorb what's going on in the world and in the moments. This show doesn't do that; it tosses a lot of names and aspects of its world and magic system at you at almost breakneck-pace, and it can be hard to absorb it all. So, if you watch it, be careful to be very attentive.

I guess the main reason I'm recommending it would be that it does sometimes remind me of Fire Emblem when I'm watching it because of a lot of things about its world, characters, and story. Honestly, I could see a Fire Emblem game incorporating certain aspects of the show in the future.

I hated Grancrest war, they flat out ruined Marrine. After finish the first season I had zero interest in watching more
