I am pretty sure the nine realms that Loki is referring to is one Outrealm with multiple worlds in it. The Outrealms (as in the multiverse) contain multiple Outrealms (universes), and the "Yggrdrasil" (I am just making this name up, I am not actually sure what Loki's Outrealm is called) that Loki is from is just one of many Yggdrasils.

From how I interpret it, basically what Loki is saying is:

"You could rule the nine worlds and every conceivable Outrealm..."
"You could rule this universe and every conceivable universe..."

The red refers to her Outrealm/universe that she came from, while the blue refers to the Outrealms/multiverse. Most Heroes will be from summoned from the blue universes, since outside of the original characters, none of the Heroes are from the red universe.

Hey, I like this theory. It makes a lot of sense and is more satisfying than a random norse mythology reference that means nothing in the FEH world. Props to you.

I just ignore FEH, Fates was a clusterf#$k in regards to the children characters world and the bubble they live in.

You're focusing too much on something that really doesn't matter to much.

Well of course we all understand that this is just a cross-over game. And even the main series at the end of the day is just a series of videogames.

Still this is the Heroes sub-forum and it's fun to speculate, even about minor things.

To be fair, in the oldest Pokémon games (Gen I specially), they were set on actual Earth. Most of the references even kept for Kanto's Gen III remakes. The Pewter Museum had an old man that mentioned the Apollo 11 Moon Landing up to the exact date, the same museum had a model of the Columbia Shuttle (this reference was removed from the remakes for obvious reasons), Lt. Surge is American, a scientist from Silph Co. mentions the company has a branch in Russia, the journal in the Pokémon Mansion states Mew was found in Guyana, etc. It was only in around Gen III when they went for their world being an alternate version of our own. Ironically, it was Gen III that added the Indian Elephant comment to Raichu's dex description (also Ghastly's, by the way). So at the time they retcon the Pokémon World to not be Earth, they added more references to it.

Personally, I think that may be it. Does she actually refers to them as "Worlds" with that word?

She does indeed refer to them as "worlds".

Sounds more to me like a reference to the Nordic Nine Realms (Asgard, Midgard, Hel, etc.), it's not like FE is shy from using that sort of stuff. I mean, it comes from someone named Loki, who comes from a place called Muspell(heim), which was one of the realms in Norse mythology.

Damn, I didn't know that. I suck at norse mythology. But I really hope that's not what Loki meant. Games that take themselves seriously shouldn't talk about things that don't exist or break the fourth wall. It reminds me of that old Pokédex entry that said Raichu's electric attacks are so strong they can kill an Indian Elephant. There are no elephants in the Pokémon world, and as far as we know there is no region called India, WTF are you talking about Pokédex?

Stuff like that breaks the immersion and I hate it, so I hope Loki's remarks actually mean something related to the lore. If not the lore of FE as a whole, at least the lore of Heroes. Like she actually meant the kingdoms of Zenith and there are 5 more of them after Askr, Embla, Muspell and Nifl. Which was my second theory anyway.

21 minutes ago, Acacia Sgt said:

As fitting as it could look grouping all the previous games (and the upcoming Three Houses) into nine separate worlds, that isn't really going to last if the series continues. Unless they state every future game takes place in the same world as any of the previous works. As such, I don't think the Nine Realms thing is a references to FE worlds.

    Though who knows.

Actually the solution to that problem is simple. After such a long time since they last did it IS is planning to make a se-(pre-mid-)quel that takes place in the same world as 3 Houses. Like Radiant Dawn, Blazing Blade or Gaiden.

And even if that's not the case, we don't know how long they will take to make the next game after 3 Houses that isn't a remake. By then FEH might be dead or the campaign finished, so it will no longer matter if the lore they created adds up. Or if the app remains alive and well for years and years they can still easily find a loop hole.

    Like:

"Ooh, a new world was created. There are 10 worlds now. I wonder what we will find in this newborn world"

    Or:

"We thought only 9 worlds existed but there is actually a tenth one"

These are just what I came up with in a second they will have more time to think and "professional writers".

    Or atleast I hope...

  4. Sooooo... if someone doesn't want Loki's 5* lv40 dialogue spoiled, I suggest you close this topic right now.

For those who remained. What are the nine worlds that Loki is blabbering about? Under what logic are they counting?

When they differentiate worlds and Outrealms I think they mean the Outrealms like the ones in Fates were the kids grew up, who are so small and pointless there's no reason to call them Worlds.

But then what are those worlds? We know that things like Nifl and Muspell are called kingdoms, they are not worlds. The world Heroes takes place in is Zenith. just 1 world.

According to the game the only thing that counts as alternate worlds are the ones the heroes from the FE games come from.

Obviously we can't count every single game as a world because that's more than 9 and counting Birthright and Conquest, or Blazing Blade and Binding Blade as 2 different worlds is dumb.

The game is being dumb when it even suggests that. But then... I actually took the time to think what the 9 worlds are and I think I might be onto something.

Let's start with saying that Awakening, Shadow Dragon, New Mystery, Genealogy, Thracia and Echoes all take place in the same world, as do FE1, 2 and 3 obviously.

A second world is the one in which Binding Blade and Blazing Blade take place.

The world in which Sacred Stones takes place is number 3.

Then we have Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn. They are in world 4.

World 5 is where Hoshido and Nohr are.

World number 6 is Zenith, where Heroes takes place.

I know little about Fire Emblem Warriors. But I have to assume that the kingdom the blonde twins rule is in its own world. World number 7

Some of you may object that Tokyo Mirage Session is such a whacky spin-off that it shouldn't count. It shouldn't be canon. But the thing is, Fire Emblem Heroes comes in our help and CONFIRMS that the world of Tokyo Mirage Session is canon. Because TMS takes place on Earth, in our world. And we know that our world is canon in Fire Emblem lore because Kiran comes from that world. OUR WORLD IS WOLRD NUMBER 8 IN THE FIRE EMBLEM MULTIVERSE!

But this is were we stop. We are 1 world short of a complete collection. Except... we are not!

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is coming, everyone knows it's coming. And there's no reason to believe it's not in its own world (inb4 it takes place in Magvel in the future and my theory dies).

IS is making 3 Houses, it will come out next year, and it's a no brainer to take characters from that game and put them in Heroes, perhaps even before the game comes out if Faye is any indication.

So it makes perfect sense to plan the story for Heroes in advance knowing that the world of 3 Houses is coming. And just like that, everything falls into place, everything is consistent.

It's confirmed that there are 9 (N I N E) worlds in Fire Emblem. Just nine.

But wait! You may object that Brave Veronica says that she comes from a different world from the one of regular Veronica. That makes it world number 10. Except... I think that when she says "different world" she means "different timeline". Every decision that changes the flow of history creates a different timeline. It's what Lucina told us. There is a clear difference from the same world, with some differences caused by the actions of its inhabitants and a world that looks nothing like the previous one.

I know this is very complicated, but it's actually the foundation on which FEH is built. Because if not for the existence of different timelines nothing in the game would make sense.

How come I can receive letters from another summoner? Shouldn't Kiran be the only summoner? Answer: different timelines. There is a timeline in which Anna waited a second too long before using Breidablik and a different summoner appeared.

How come I have 130 Hinatas in my Order of Heroes? How many Hinatas exists? Answer: an infinite number, just like the infinite number of timelines.

I actually really like the theory that says every time we start a Fire Emblem game, we create a different timeline. Because the growths of our units won't be exactly the same, we won't take the same exact number of turns to complete a map, we may decide to recruit Deen instead of Sonya, or we may lose some units and not reset. Of course this theory is heavily based on the theory about how the Pokémon Multiverse works, but it's a nice theory nonetheless and it makes too much sense to ignore.

It may even explain the weird alts we complain about. Eirika with Gleipnir? She comes from a timeline in which an experienced player was having way too much fun with the Dark Magic Glitch.

Bunny Lucina? Well, we saved the world from Grima, of course the Lucina who is still a baby will grow up to be an happier princess that enjoys silly things like that.

Different worlds + different timelines are the answer to everything. Of course not everyone will like such an answer, but it is the answer the game gave us.

Personally I really like that IS may decide to use Fire Emblem Heroes (the only spin-off they have total control on, without Atlus or Koei-Tecmo in the way) to answer some very big questions about how the Fire Emblem Universe works as a whole, and maybe I'm hoping too much, but I think they may do more of this kind of stuff in the future. Like explain what the heck is going on with the Cipher original characters? Please IS?

Anyway, I just thought of something silly. Some time time ago Akira Toriyama decided to drop a BIG piece of Dragon Ball lore out of nowhere by telling us how many universes exist in the Dragon Ball canon. And now IS decides to do the same and randomly drop a huge information like it's nothing.

IS: "Yeah, there are 9 worlds, or something. But let's go back to the important stuff now: we heard that you have some complaints about the arena works and we..."

Anyway I want to hear what you all think about this matter. Are there really only nine worlds? Or IS just got drunk again and is blabbering nonsense?

Unless you happen to be the best Gharnef ever, who outsourced the ugliness to an inferior figure.

Really though, do we need to see the evil in their hearts always worn so readily on their faces?

This so much. But even more than this we need more good guys who are ugly as sin, like Gonzalez and Arden. And even more ugly women who are on the side of good. Because if the idea IS has of an ugly woman is Reina from Fates they are gravely mistaken. She is suppossed to be ugly because she is a little older and has a scar? Bitch please, the scar only makes her sexy.

And then we run into the question of "Does every game need some sort of sultry female?". To which to be fair, I must then ask myself "Does every game need some sort of -something- male?".

But let us not risk this topic going too far in this direction.

Well, yes but you can make the same argument for every single archetype that gets repeated over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again with every game. What I'm trying to say is that while the seductress archetype doesn't deserve a "get out of jail free" card, it also doesn't deserve to be considered the only archetype that is getting stale and dull.

P.S.: I was wrong. The archetype is way older than what I said. Nuibaba on the NES exists. There really isn't a single archetype that doesn't come from a Kaga game...

Didn't they also a bunch of NPC units in CYL2 including ones that don't fight like Calil's and Largo's kid?

That plus splitting characters between games they show up on is just painfull to watch. I just hope IS realises that people actually care about these polls and chill with the desperate tries to create memes in CYL3.

You fool! We still haven't got a single meme character in Heroes. Where is Gromell? Where is Ike's mom? And Eliwood's mom? Where is Zola? Where is Candace? Where is Kid Zephiel? WHERE THE HECK IS BATTA THE BEAST!? They don't need to stop, they need to try harder.

Ok so while I cannot speak for everyone, the problem I have with the popularity of characters like camilla, loki, and tharja is that I generally feel like IS is disrespecting me as a fan. I mean I have nothing against fanservice when done properly(I.e seasonal banners, charlotte, senran kagura, etc.) but with characters like these I feel IS is just thinks that they can just make me like(probably not the best term but I can’t think of any better way to explain it) a character by just slapping on some big tits and a seductive yandere personality with really no rhyme or reason beyond just otaku fetish pandering. it’s just so blatent and obvious what they’re trying to do and that honestly bothers me. I mean I get it sex sells but could you at least make an effort to try and write an actual character and not just some waifu pandering bullshit.

For how I see it, Camilla and Tharja (and Nowi) have no excuses for dressing the way they do. For what we know of their personality, it makes no sense. It makes even less sense when people seem to not recognize how STUPID their clothing is. It's not a deal-breaker but everyone agrees that if they dressed more modestly it would be for the better and nothing would be lost. It doesn't ruin the character and many people can get over it quickly (I'm one of them), but since other people have more of a problem with it I wish they would stop making fanservicey designs where they don't belong just so there can be less pointless arguing about them.

However, I don't agree when we talk about characters like Loki or Aversa. They have all the reasons in the world to dress like that, it's actually complementary to their personality.

They ARE the sexy dark magic seductress, an archetype that exists at least since FE7 and Sonia. It's one thing to hate sexy clothes when they don't fit, it's another to hate them when they do fit.

Uh wut?! Hrid design was in my eyes good and i like Alfonse for being the "Posterboy" of heroes. Bruno is dope though. On the contrary i found Helbindi rather ... meh? Surtr is the worst though i agree on that one. Well there arent much male OC left or introduced anyway. We have like 5 and 2 are allready released (Alfonse and Helbindi). If we go by recent events, Bruno will introduced the Duell Blue Cavalry skill and bring back the terror of Reinhardt to the armorers. Not sure if Hrid will be a legendary hero or if he will be regular hero and introduce the Duell Red Infantry skill.

Opinions will be opinions. I never liked Hrid since he was showed. I loved Helbindi instantly on the other hand.

When you combine votes, Tibarn and Ranulf also beat Aversa.  Keaton directly outranked her...  Is he not a beast?  (I haven't played Fates.)

    • Selkie: 8855
    • Tibarn: 6611
    • Ranulf: 6312
    • Keaton: 5989

Aversa, by contrast, had only 5033.  Of course, CYL hasn't combined votes, so Aversa technically outranked them.

Tbh even if combining votes you get the real popularity it's still dangerous to do so, because IS doesn't combine anything or we would have Brave Marth already. And Brave Heroes were always 2 of both gender, with two different top 20s and stuff. The fact that a male "Keaton" outranks Aversa is irrelevant, they wouldn't make a farfetched banner with 3:1 gender ratio. The fact that a female "Selkie" outranks Aversa is relevant.

  11. 1 minute ago, Johann said:

Ah, nuts. It's certainly telling that the highest voted units are beast/laguz, and if I recall right, many of them outranked some of these upcoming heroes.

    Correction, Selkie alone outranked Aversa.

About the ranking... damn, Tanith is nowhere to be seen :( and Mozu too.

Atleast I can be happy for Wolf, Nyx and Ross my boy.

I am sure it was their charisma uniqueness nerve and talent that got Loki the spot, 3 Alts for Camilla and 2 Alts for Kagero in such a short time.

We are not arguing alts, who are decided by IS. We are arguing placement in Cyl who is decided by us players. Loki placed high because we voted for her, and we voted her because she is a new cool OC. Yes she got more votes than Laevatein, but maybe it'a because she appeared before her and had more personality than "I am the blade". But NO it must be boobs. Boys gotta be boys and vote with their peeenis amirite? This is what I find annoying, and I didn't even vote for Loki.

I'm sorry I may have spoken out of line.

I got triggered because you implied Aversa was voted because of her boobs when I would've voted for her even she was as flat as Cordelia, because she is my beloved wife.

I will never agree that a character popularity can be boiled down to their appearance, but since it's just your opinion I'm okay with it.

  13. 18 minutes ago, Landmaster said:

IDRC if it's the 1st, 2nd, or 263547th reason, she still got in for being a walking sack of tits~ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I suppose you interviewed every single person who voted her to know this.

And you also discovered with your magic that every person who likes big boobs determined who to vote for by comparing bust sizes instead of every other aspect. Which is strange considering that I enjoy big breasts and have no problem with sultry, seductive characters and yet I didn't vote for Loki because I only have 7 votes and a lot of faves.

Besides the sarcasm, the actual problem I have with your post is that you forgot to specify that's just your opinion on the matter. An IMHO can make all the difference in the world sometimes, because without it people may think you are speaking as if your idea is the TRUTH that others don't want to admit. And that is a little closed minded and disrespectful towards the actual fans of a character imho.

I hope we get some more male OCs.  The female OCs are getting a bit repetitive.

This! I swear the only two good male OCs are Helbindi and Bruno. Alfonse and Surtr are basic AF and Hrid has a boring design + he somehow showed less personality than his siblings.

  15. 2 hours ago, Landmaster said:

She got votes for the same reason Loki got votes

Honestly, I'm kind of tired of hearing this. Loki didn't get 10th place because BOOBS, every female character has boobs and Heroes has a tradition of making them bigger than they were in canon. She got votes for the same reason Veronica was voted, being a main villain of Heroes that we knew from book 1, even if she didn't reveal her true form, that people wanted playable + BOOBS.

    Boobs were the secondary reason.

  16. 9 minutes ago, Johann said:

I'm of the opinion that the Paralogues/recruitment dialogue are just poorly written excuses to give us the characters as playable, and not canon or even connected to the character portrayals we get up until those points.

To be fair I've learned that arguing what's canon in Fire Emblem is pointless. No one will be satisfied with whatever gets confirmed as canon, especially with awakening

  17. 4 hours ago, Falter said:

And who actually likes Aversa? I played awakening a lot and barely remembered her, did she just gain votes for being the only "canon" flying mage?

I can only speak for myself but I liked her so much that I married her. I love everything that she stands for, a dark lady who gets reformed instead of dying like all the others before her (hello Sonia, Hilda, Nuibaba, Petrine and Eremiya). That was actually refreshing and appreciated, since I was expecting her to drop dead at any moment during Awakening endgame.

Sure Awakening went a bit overkill with the reformed villains but she was the one that actually made sense and didn't feel like a cop-out since she didn't die and then revealed she was alive like the others who thought they were Oliver or something.

  18. 1 hour ago, Anacybele said:

...Dude, I cannot stand to read this unless you split it up into proper paragraphs. It's just a massive wall of text. And this is looked down upon in many forums.

This is the part that involved you directly:

if we examine last year FH we discover something interesting.

None of the 4 units (except maybe Joshua) would have fit with the theme of the banners released in the next 365 days. Mia would obviously come in a Greil Mercs banner, but we got no such banner, we got a Dawn Brigade one and a Crimean one. And I don't even know in what kind of banners Dorcas and Lute would come but probably not in the ONE (O - N - E) banner we received for their games. What would have happened is that we simply wouldn't have Joshua, Lute, Mia and Dorcas in the game.

And I know that it's difficult to grasp why this sucks if you don't care for these units, so I will play a little game with you Ana: let's pretend that Marcia got more votes than Aversa, and she was the one added this year. Let's also pretend that in 2019 we will get 4 Tellius banner (I'm being generous to make a point, I doubt we will get so much Tellius love), but these banners will be 2 Laguz banners, a banner with the remaining Greil Mercenaries and a banner with the rest of the Dawn Brigade. Finally, let's pretend that you can see the future and already know that the banners for Tellius won't have a slot that fits Marcia.

If I told you that the banner that brought Marcia in the game is "pointless" and she should come in a different kind of banner, would you still agree?

Another thing I said is that you shouldn't underestimate the power of the vote, of democracy.

Our votes speak louder than our written feedback. We can write all we want that Lugh or Boyd and Rolf should be in the game since their brother is in, and IS can decide to ignore us. But if we create a bandwagon and the #SaveTheGreenBros and they are in the top 20 of CYL3 IS can not ignore it. Literally.

Why do you think Kliff got in the game?

Make no mistake, he is not as popular or important as the results make him seem.

He won because someone convinced enough people who normally don't give two shits about Kliff that it was "unfair" that all the other Ram kids were in the game but not him.

And about the issue with Selkie. You are mad that she was ignored since she had more votes than Aversa. Ironically the fact that she was ignored makes this banner even more important.

Because now, if IS for some reason still has no plans to add beast units people will be pissed. People will notice that they were ignored twice and will have a mentality of "screw you IS. You can't pretend you don't know what I want".

And if in CYL2 we got 1 beast unit in the top 40, CYL3 may have 5 of them in the top 40. Let's see if they still play dumb.

One final time I ask not to underestimate the importance of the vote. The vote is what makes us free. The vote is the most beautiful thing.

I was hoping Loki wouldn't be in the summoning pool so I never had a chance of getting pitybroken by her. Surprised they gave her out this soon. At least her fans will be happy.

Kliff and Owain have fantastic art, but neither particularly interest me, since I have countless infantry.

No interest in Aversa, but surprised she is free. I mean, she hits all the points you'd expect to see the cash signs light up. I don't like her and never planned to get her, but maybe this will change my mind.

Not really the banner I wanted, and I'm not really interested in any of their stories for forging bonds, but oh well. Hopefully they give good accessories.

Hopefully this means Hrid and Bruno will be playable soon. I want them, mostly for shallow reasons, although a male mage who isn't infantry would be amazing, no matter who it was, at this point...

Oh come on Cute Chao, you were precisely who I had in mind when I said people would be happy about the equal treatment of genders in this banner, with even a female free unit instead of a male one, and yet you don't seem happy at all. :(

I can understand not being particularly interested in the units themselves, but cheer up my friend. It's still a step in the right direction.

Theoretically Amelia could get Garn as well but I think any decent strategist would opt to give his most powerful axe to the hardened veteran and one of Grado's best generals instead of just some rookie girl. Same with Apocalypse. Raigh can get it but in canon Roy would probably sooner give it to Niime the most famous dark mage around rather than just a bratty shota he picked up along the way.

Yeah, but Lilina still got Forblaze instead of it going to an adult, more experienced, mage so... what I'm trying to say is that unless it breaks canon (and sometimes you can even break canon if it's for the sake of a cheeky reference to the dark magic glitch, right Horse Eirika?) you can give the powerful weapons to whoever you want without a justification. You can even make up a justification on the fly. You just need to have Amelia mention that the axe was gifted to her by Duessel because:

    • he wanted to entrust the future of Grado to the youth
    • trained her himself and judged that she would be an even better wielder for the Sacred Weapon (AKA she surpassed him in stats because trainee are gods if you can grind)
    • he felt that he failed his country by not realizing sooner what happened to the emperor and for that he is unworthy of being the weilder of Garm
    • insert other explanation

People would have complained because they always do, but most people would have said: "Oh, so that's what happened. I see"
