  1. Cipher does take creative liberties sometime. I'd wager that's just f!Byleth in Mercenary
  2. Yeah I agree. It is annoying. But we'll have to see what else comes of it. Vantage may also be one of those generic skills you can equip freely.
  3. reminder Vantage would only be usable IN the hero class
  4. Myrmidon is the level 5 "beginner" tier class, remember. And no class skills have been actives thus far. I think actives are exclusive to Combat Arts. All other skills have been passives, so no Sol or Astra for Swordmaster.
  5. I think we really just have to take in the fact that classes work so drastically different from ever before. Not only can almost every class use every weapon, thus sort of eliminating the need for "more" classes (especially since class skills aren't retained outside of the class itself), but you can choose at the start of a battle what class to deploy in, or even swap classes before giving a unit instruction. Hero will have Sword and Axes as bonus proficiencies - meaning that those weapon ranks increase at a higher rate in that class...but Swordmaster will be able to use Axes too, just because of how all of that works in this game. They just won't get the boost to exp gain with axes. But you can boost their levels in a given rank outside of combat through a number of ways, so that may not even be a big factor. For the most part - classes are now differentiated by what class skills you want for a battle, what movement type you want for a battle, if you need a bit of a boost to a weapon rank...and aesthetics.
  6. Yeah. (Leak talk, but nothing that isn't confirmed already) thanibomb confused Alois with someone named Cyril, as in the man we know to be Alois was called Cyril by thanibomb. Due to...other reasons that thani listed as well...once I saw that kid I figured he was gonna be Cyril and that thani just got confused. I would explain those reasons but I honestly don't know how to spoiler tag on here lmfao.
  7. Previously nameless boy is now Cyril, which I figured
  8. We're getting off my main point anyway. Despite lacking access to Brawler and Dark Mage, females still have classes that give bonuses to every weapon and movement rank in the game at intermediate. Mages still use Reason, so do Priests for that matter. Brigand still has a bonus for gauntlets. They also get Cav, Armor, and Pegasus to cover the movement ranks. Males do NOT have access to anything utilizing a flying rank at Intermediate. Nothing whatsoever. (unless, again, some hidden class which I see as very unlikely by this point). It won't matter that much but its still annoying to me. Presumably Wyvern Rider will have a flying pre-requisite. You'll be boosting up a rank that literally won't have any pay off until level 20 for males. No option of raising it more naturally through actual use. SOLELY through the admittedly many other options. It's not gamebreaking. It's not that big of a deal. But it annoys the hell out of me lmfao.
  9. I never said anything about it being common. Wyvern Riders, even if usually accessible "mid-game" are still tier 1 classes though. It isn't like you just got Wyvern Lords instead. Thats only in like, FE1.
  10. Nah, I've been Black Eagles since the beginning. Especially with the reveal that we can recruit some students, my first playthrough will still definitely be Black Eagles. Characters I do REALLY LIKE from other houses though (at least design-wise). Blue Lions: Dimitri, Felix, Ingrid Golden Deer: Claude, Lysithea, Leonie
  11. I meant a movement type. Males can be armored, infantry, or mounted at Intermediate Girls can be all of those + flying at Intermediate.
  12. With the weapon system working as it is the gender exclusivity doesn't hurt that badly aside from males, despite everything. They're presumably locked out of a movement option until Advanced tier now - unless some secret alternative has been hidden from us for Intermediate.
  13. Black Magic = Reason here, I'd wager? Also ye, we have to remember class skills aren't retained. It wouldn't surprise me if Swordmaster had the exact same loadout as Hero. Its just then weird that SWORDMASTER probably isn't gender exclusive (we've seen the sprites for it in both male and female class lists).
  14. Maybe the 5 year jump isn't exact...? Like, Part 1 carries you to the 4th of the next year, but the timeskip brings you to the 1st month of 5 years later.
  15. The thing is I'm hard pressed not to believe that their timeskip look is anything other than the Advanced tier equivalent of Lord. Some has said its how they look the tier after but the war phase seems to be the second half of the game. I doubt they'll be in their final tiers for the entire second half of the game. Not to mention wouldn't it be rather fitting? Noble > Lord for Part 1, Great Lord > ??? for Part 2. I am still not of the mind that the classes we see there are all of the ones that will be available, granted, but if nothing else I am a firm believer that Advanced Lord is hidden off until timeskip.
  16. Yeah. At first I was hoping it would be something to make up for their lack of class skills. Ah well.
  17. I don't know if anyone has talked about it, as it is really easy to miss, but we actually have confirmation that shields are returning - but this time they can be equipped alongside weapons. It is the item Ignatz steals from Dedue here. The shield on Dedue's map model even changes after Ignatz steals it. It is hard to see, but Ignatz actually equips the shield as well, but I don't see his model change at all. Maybe only classes that have shields on their models normally get different shield looks for equipping them? Also we get to see Dedue as a "third army" unit. Canon classes are also a confirmed thing - which makes sense given other house students may/will be enemies post-time skip.
  18. She's a noble in her nation, but not recognized as such in Fodlan or Adrestia perhaps. Not to mention noble seems to specifically mean you are a descendant of one of the 10 elites or some such.
  19. One of the people who played the demo at E3 literally said there is no weapon triangle but combat arts exist that can give bonuses that emulate the WT for a single engagement. So the WT as a system is gone. It's not really a point of contention. We even saw plenty of gameplay footage today that suggested as such.
  20. This is getting irritating because I have no idea what sprite you're talking about. My phrasing was "it looks very similar to the female and male priest" You're telling me the last sprite in Edelgard's advance list doesn't look like the second last sprite in her intermediate list or the last sprite in Ferdinand's intermediate list? ...ok. And even if this is silly to argue over in the first place because my larger point remains unanswered (beyond literally writing things off because lel IS b stoopid): where is the third advanced mage class for males? It isn't there. One of them is certainly Sage. The other, to me, looks like an advanced version of Dark Mage. Maybe it is Bishop. Either way BOTH are not present. Only one.
  21. Look again. Edelgard's bishop looks very similar to male and female priest. That sprite you think is bishop looks NOTHING like either of them. And I know the advanced!brawler class is there. It's what makes it so obvious that an advance mage class is missing. Sage is there for both. Edelgard has bishop or something similar with Ferdinand seeming to had Sorceror, and no Bishop. And even if it IS Bishop: where is the advanced dark mage class?
  22. I am 100% convinced that is not the final class list. 1: Males have no intermediate flying options but both genders get Wyvern Rider as an advanced class 2: Bishop seems to be missing from male advanced list. It is there for Edelgard's tree but looks way too different in Ferdinand's to be the same class. I wager we can see Sage and Dark Sage/Sorceror in Ferdinand's list, but no Bishop. 3: Hero is missing in Edelgard's list. Much like Priest for Ferdinand, Edelgard CAN become a Mercenary - I highly doubt Hero is suddenly gender exclusive? Both genders get Swordmaster as well. 4: There's no advanced Lord option in Edelgard's list. I wager this might be the class the three lords are in post-time skip. Why are the classes missing? idk. Could be they want to keep some secrets for the demo builds. Could be viewing future classes can't be done willy nilly and you have to like, unlock them in some capacity to even view them on the list? But I absolutely do not believe for an instant that this is the full class list for advanced or even intermediate.
  23. Funny enough nothing has changed for me. Black Eagles all the way: In terms of overall chars within the house this is my fav thus far, and Edelgard is still my fav of the three lords (though it is very close now) Blue Lions: Second best to me all around. Dimitri seems very interesting. Golden Deer: For me they are lowkey carried by Claude and the gals in it, so weakest overall house. Claude is real cool though.
