@Alastor15243 I think it might be my one of my favourite games in general just from the first few hours. I'm definitely going to be replaying it a lot at least for the other routes.

@Alastor15243 I mean with all the social elements. Does the game give you a tutorial on them?

I'm about to start playing Three Houses and because the game seems very different to the other games I'm wondering if anyone has any tips or things I should focus on in my first playthrough. I'm going to be joining the Black Eagles first but not sure who I'll romance until I start the game.

I'm mainly a Nintendo fan but I honestly find having more franchises in the game fun. Though I was lucky and my most wanted character (Joker because I've been obsessed with Persona for about a year now) got in. I'm still hoping Chrono could get in.

@Garlyle I'm considering playing Binding Blade because of Roy but might play Blazing Sword first because it's a prequel.

@Mukmuk I'm kind of new to Fire Emblem but I've played quite a few of the games now.

@Alastor15243 What are the different gameplay stuff? Is it like Persona 5's day time events?

@DragonFlames What is the gameplay like in Neptunia? I've seen a few random games on the store and was considering trying it but I've heard nothing about the franchise. Honestly I prefer games for their characters and story so it won't matter if the gameplay is average.

@Ertrick36 Persona 3-5 are very much character and story driven with the game having a calendar system. You basically have to balance social sims with main story dungeons. The games are also really long and the cast is phenomenal. The OST for the games is amazing and I listen to a lot of it outside of playing the game. Persona 1 & 2 are similar to mainline SMT as you contact demons and is a constant dungeon crawler but I loved them as the story and cast were great and the gameplay is fun outside of the annoyingly high encounter rate. I don't play alot of western games. Not because I hate them but I am quite bad at figuring out what to do and can be boring sometimes. Skyrim is fun though but I've not played a Fallout game outside of 4 which was decent. Never played Sims but I might give it a go as it seems funny.

I'm starting with Conquest as I've heard it's worth playing for the gameplay at least. Though I'll probably enjoy the the game.

@EricaofRenais Which SMT game would you recommend for a newcomer? I love the Persona franchise as much as Fire Emblem and I've heard that Persona 1-2 are similar to SMT and I loved those games. I loved the bit of Nocturne I played but it was really difficult so I've not finished it yet.

@Ottservia Owain is my favourite character in Awakening besides Lucina and he's in Fates. Severa and Inigo were amazing characters as well so I should enjoy Fates if not just because they are in it.

@McKarter I love Pokemon but I've not played it since Sun and Moon. I'm excited for Sword and Shield.

@Alastor15243 My favourite overall cast is Awakening's.

For me personally my favourite game franchises besides Fire Emblem are: Persona, The Legend of Zelda, Kid Icarus and Xenoblade 1 & 2 (not played Saga or Gears yet). I also love Final Fantasy VII (not played any other games in the franchise yet but I plan to play VI soon) and Undertale (has a phenomonal soundtrack ,the game is short so you can replay it often and I actually really like Sans).

@Alastor15243 Are the character enjoyable in Fates? As long as the gameplay and characters are good I usually really enjoy a game even if it has a bad story.

@Ertrick36 I might leave Tharcia for later as it seems it will be difficult even with a walkthrough. Plus my Leif in Genealogy was not leveled properly and quite weak.

@GarlyleGO, I hate the ballistas in any of the Fire Emblem games as there is usually like 10-20 and it can be a pain to carefully take them all out. Though at least in Genealogy you can just seize the castle.

@Ertrick36 I think to be safe I'll probably use a walkthrough for Tharcia. Is Leif a good protagonist?

I was just trying to be sure as I tried to get into it a while back and the prologue was kind of boring and Marth wasn't really the focus. I do actually like a challenge but I'm unsure if it's brutal and unfair or just as long as you plan carefully you will be able to find a way around the obstacles in game.

I hope we get a couple first party characters at least as I really want a Three Houses character or more Xenoblade and Kid Icarus representation. Though having more 3rd party character will be good as it increases the chance of Sora in smash (the only 3rd party character I really want as Joker and Banjo were actually added).

@Eltosian Kadath Does the story of FE5 compare to the one in Genealogy? Also is the gameplay different?

@Fire Brand Is Marth still the protagonist? I absolutely loved Marth as a character in Shadiw Dragon but I've heard there is an avatar character in the game.

I'm new to the Fire Emblem franchise and have loved every game I've played so far but I'm not sure where to start next. The games I have played: Fire Emblem 4 - Genealogy of the Holy War Fire Emblem 9 - Path of Radiance Fire Emblem 10 - Radiant Dawn Fire Emblem 11 - Shadow Dragon Fire Emblem 13 - Awakening Fire Emblem 15 - Shadows of Valentia

@Vince777I've only played FE9-11, 13, 15 & 4 so far. I might play FE 5 & 12 next to finish off those storylines then have a break and play something else (probably FFVI) then play Three Houses since TH has alot of replayability and I can play it again at a later date. I'll start with Conquest because I saw a really cheap physical copy and bought it a week ago.
