  1. “Pit fall” can be best explained as strategic errors commonly found within the Fire Emblem community, they are the bad practices that players tend to repeat in every single playthrough because these players believe them to be the optimal ways to play Fire Emblem, the term originated from Mekkah who made a series about it on Youtube. The GBA Fire Emblem guides on GameFaqs are full of these “Pit Falls”, most of them are responsible for spreading sub-optimal strategies to the community such as ditching your Jeigans, growths and endgame stats are the only things that matter, using bad classes like Archers and Armor Knights, etc.
  2. Gilbert, based on AM Maddening: Pros: - He can uh ... bait some enemies for you in ch.13 and be an adjutant bot later. - Has passable base Def, Hp, Str and can reclass to Paladin asap and promote to Great Knight later if you truly wish to use him as a combat unit. Cons: - Worst availability in the game and joins as garbage 4 mov Fortress Knight in one of the hardest map on Maddening. - Luck, Res and especially Spd are pathetically low, he gets obliterated by mages and doubled even by enemy Fortress Knight which are the slowest enemies on Maddening. - D+ Authority at this point in the game is unacceptable and his Charm is no where high enough to justify grinding his Authority rank, - Learn 0 powerful combat arts unlike other late joiners (Alios and Seteth). Overall Gilbert gets a 1.5/10 from me solely for being an instant adjutant bot, as a unit he gets outclassed by every single physical combat units in that route and joins at a point where you probably have multiple dodgetank Fliers in your army who are better at both tanking and killing.
  3. 6/10 based on Maddening mode, he joins in one of the best class in the game with solid bases + good growth + A rank Swift Strike but he is missing for nearly half the game so I can't give Seteth a score higher than 6
  4. Should we vote F!Byleth and M!Byleth separately? Anyway my rating is based on F!Byleth (Maddening) since she’s the better version imo: Pros: - Her unique weapon comes early, has 1-2 and a great CA. - Personal gives her and surrounding units extra EXP which is really handy in Maddening considering the reduced EXP gain in combat. - Amazing bases with decent growths. (Wtf 13 Str base at lv 1) - Gets support bonus from basically every units except for lolAnna. - Convoy access. - Early Sylvain outside of AM = early Lance of Ruin/access to one of the best paralogues in the game. - Really flexible in terms of class choices thanks to faculty training and 0 Bane. - Very high charm + authority boon means easy access to strong battalion and gambits hit hard. - Crest provides extra damage, survivability and procs really often. Cons: - Doesn’t learn any spectacular Combat Arts. - Can get RNG-screwed on important stats since growths are kinda middling. Overall F!Byleth gets a 9/10 from me with no bias.
  5. Oops my bad, but yeah there are many ways to stack hit rate late game on magic units and their attacks ignore terrain bonuses so they rarely miss. Also I didn’t recall seeing that many Tomebreakers (is there even a plus version for it?) compared to other Breaker skills.
  6. You don’t need Uncanny Blow, one of the A rank Magic Battalions (Macuil Evil Repelling Co.) gives 50 hit rate at max rank and reaching A Authority on Lysithea mid game isn’t hard considering she has a Boon in Authority + Mastermind. In my AM and VW Maddening playthrough her accuracy late game rarely drops below 100 with that Battalion equipped, even Luna has around 90 hit rate against a lot of bosses.
  7. My rating for Leonie is based on GD Maddening: Pros: - Good bases and excellent growth especially in Speed. - She gets one of the best CAs in the game, Point Blank Volley, at A rank Bow. - Has all the proficiencies for Bow Knight and has 0 weakness meaning that she’s really flexible in terms of class selection and picking up class skills. - Has one of the better Personals in the game that makes her early game performance even better. Cons: - Can get Strength screwed if you’re unlucky, doesn’t help that most classes she spends time in don’t have a good Str growth modifier. - No crest means she takes damage when using Relics. Overall Leonie gets a 8.5/10 - 0.5 bias because she can’t stop worshipping Jeralt so 8/10.
  8. I judged Lysithea based on VW Maddening: Pros: - Faith boon + B Warp + Mastermind means you can start cheesing as early as chapter 5, she's basically essential if you want to do any kind of LTC strats because of her incredibly early access to this OP spell. - Her having good Mag base with 60% growth and a spell list full of very strong nuke spells like Luna, Hades and Dark Spikes means she can put out serious damage mid-late game when trained. - Mastermind allows her to level up ranks and master class skills faster than other units. - Lysithea also has an Authority Boon on top of her personal, allowing her to gain access to high rank Battalions early. Cons: - Combat is overrated, she lacks 3+ range spells, early game she is pretty meh and her spells are inaccurate. - Does not offer any utilities aside from Warp. - Dies to anything that manages to touch her. Overall I give Lysithea a 8/10 + 0.5 bias = 8.5/10.
  9. Based on GD Maddening, I give Raphael a 3.5/10 with 0.5 bias point, he has so many issues and isn't worth training. Pros: - Decent bases and is kinda tanky. - Rally Strength. - Can be easily trained in either Wyvern or Warmaster classline since he has a boon in Axe and no weakness in other required stats. Cons: - Growths are garbage asides from HP Def and Str. - Mages eat him alive. - Useless personal. - Combat Arts are either meh or just straight up terrible. - Gets outclassed by most physical combat units in the game. Imo he's the weakest unit in his house and second worst student in the game, the only person who's worse than him is Caspar.
  10. I rated Lorenz based on GD Maddening. Pros: - He is actually not that bad early game, he has a personal skill that gives him free + 2 damage, he can use Fire to chip and Tempest Lance to deal serious damage to enemies. - Frozen Lance at C Lance and Ragnarok at B Reason means that he does decent damage mid game. - Quite bulky for a Magic User. Cons: - Awful Faith spell list means it's hard to justify giving him a slot on your team over other Magic Units. - Falls off a cliff especially if he fails to get any good lv ups early on which is very likely due to his middling growths. - Can't really take advantage of his Relic's Aegis/Pavise when every Mage in the game wants it. I give Lorenz a score of 3.5/10.
  11. Ashe is bad but I don't think he deserves to be that low considering that he provides some early game chip damage with curved shot in AM Maddeing. Anyway back to Hilda, I judged her based on GD Maddening. Pros: - Good bases and growths. - Proficiency in Lances, Axes and Neutral in Flying means she has easy access to Brigand and Flying Classes. - She has one of the better personals in the game which helps a lot with early game GD Maddening. Cons: - Authority bane means it takes a long time for her to reach C rank to use good battalions. - Questionable accuracy especially with Axes. - Lack of good non-Relic Combat Arts like Swift Strike or Point Blank Volley to be a late game powerhouse. My rating: 6.5/10
  12. I like her design especially post time skip but that’s kinda it, I don’t agree with some of her actions in game but they’re not enough to make me hate her. Also I don’t think she has that many haters, from what I’ve seen in Gamefaqs and Reddit a lot of people just have problems with a portion of her fanbase (like those that blindly defend Edelgard or the creeps that fetishize F!Byleth x Edelgard ship) so they create multiple Edelgard hate threads just to troll and piss them off.
  13. I have to agree with most people here that the pass is pretty underwhelming, for me Cindered Shadows was fun for the first 2 chapters and then it got worse both story and gameplay wise and I only finished it to unlock the 4 DLC characters and some new features for the main story.
  14. I was talking about players who play the game blind and aren’t aware that there are 2 versions of chapter 23/24 but I agree that the lords are not hard to train, even if they’re stat screwed their Prf weapons still do a huge amount of damage to Cavs/Armors so feeding them kills isn’t that difficult.
  15. To be fair the map is pretty hard to unlock even if you train them considering the sums of their levels must be over 50 before chapter 23 in order to gain access to the chapter, the map can easily be missed in a non-grind run. I'd say give Hector a chance, he's pretty durable and can hit hard, plus most enemies in FE7 have abysmal speed he can double reliably when trained despite not having a good Spd stat.
  16. Sacred Stones is obviously very iron man friendly, the game is easy and you get an extremely overpowered Paladin who can solo the entire game right from the beginning. Blazing Blade can be annoying sometimes but not that difficult even on HHM. Like many people already stated, Binding Blade has ambush spawns, that alone is enough to make the game extremely iron man unfriendly, combined with the fact that it is much harder than the other 2, you're stuck with a useless lord for 80% of the game, half of the cast being unusable and the requirements to unlock some Gaiden maps are extremely annoying (Ch.14 and CH.16) and you need all of them to unlock the True Ending.
  17. Your PC is more than good enough for the games that you wanna play, in fact it can even run most recent triple A titles on medium-low settings just fine.
  18. Raphael has access to rally strength, doesn’t come with an authority weakness and has better bases + growth distribution than Caspar, I think he should be at the top of C tier or bottom of C+ tier.
  19. Um I think you need to be more a little bit more specific. What processor and graphic card are in your new PC? What games are you planning to play on it? What is the resolution/refresh rate of your monitor? Is it a gaming PC only? Usually i7 only performs slightly better than i5 (same generation ofc) in most games and the extra price you're paying for an i7 is definitely not worth the little boost but the i7 is much better at productive works like modeling/editing thanks to its higher core count. Nearly all games relies more on the graphic card than the processor though, usually people who mainly play games only get a good enough CPU to not bottleneck their GPU. Tldr: if you're only playing games and your GPU is not high end then an i5 is good enough, if you plan on using your PC for stuff like 3D modeling, video editing, streaming, etc. then you should consider upgrading your CPU to an i7 in the future.
  20. Balthus is definitely better than Caspar and Raphael (which isn't much of an achievement considering how bad those 2 units are) but he's not as good as Dedue. Dedue has better bases at the same Lv, Balthus's personal is harder to activate and maintain compared to Dedue's, it also requires you to keep him lower than half health all time which is rather risky and limits his ability to tank during enemy phase, on the other hand Dedue's personal is very easy to keep activated. On top of that he doesn't learn any good mid-game Combat Arts while Dedue gets Vengance and One-Two Punch at C rank which allows him to reliably one round many enemies. Balthus having easier access to War Monk for Brawl Avo is pretty much his only advantage over Dedue and the skill is locked behind an Advanced Tier Class which takes a lot of time to get.
  21. Try doing an AM run with Dodge-tank Bishop Byleth, Dancer Dimitri, Magic Bow Mercedes, Warrior Annette and War Monk Dedue as your healer if you have DLC access 🙂
  22. Oh mb I forgot you can give the Altar items for Renown, so it's much easier so get the 4 Saint Statues bonuses in a fresh NG run now. Oh really? Guess I have to complete CS to claim it, I stopped playing after recruiting Balthus, well I'll have to complete the story now to get the Renown and unlock 2 paralogues for my future playthroughs.
  23. You also only get 4 free Abyssian Exam Passes (DLC class promotional item) from recruiting all Ashen Wolves Units (each come with 1 in their inventory), if you want more you have to spend 500 Renown to unlock the shop and then 750 Renown for each Pass.
  24. A tanky unit with Cichol's Crest can restore 66% of their health at the start of each turn with both the Spear of Assal and Ochain Shield equipped, greatly increasing their ability to survive and soak incoming damage without relying on a Healer or Healing Focus . Giving the Crest of Aubin and Fetters of Dromi to your Dancer gives them Aegis/Pavise on top of Mov+1 and Canto. Same with Lamine's Crest + Rafail Gem on a Mounted unit, Thyrsus + Gloucester on a Magic unit and any Brawling Unit is good with the Fraldarius's Crest + Aegis shield combo. I do believe that different Crests with the same effects have their activation chance stacks multiplicatively on top of each other. For example a unit with the Crest of Charon, Crest of Seiros, Crest of Gautier and Crest of Daphnel will have more than 70% chance to get a damage boost when using Combat Arts or Felix with Crest of The Beast will have an even higher chance to boost his damage using regular attacks.
  25. I love spamming healers and offensive casters in my run so I always recruit Linhardt, Dorothea, Lysithea, Marianne and Mercedes. Petra is my favorite female character so I always recruit her, she’s also OP af. Leonie because she’s a good unit and I need that paralogue rewards with Linhardt. Bernadetta is a must, I don’t like facing her as an enemy and I want to unlock her paralogue with Petra. Felix because I like his personality and he’s an amazing unit. All the church units, they’re literally free even though I don’t use them in most of my playthroughs. I don’t like Sylvain that much but he’s always on my team since I only play F!Byleth. Lorenz because Thyrsus.
