The titles come from Ashe's endgame title, "Arrow of Justice" and one of his lost items, Moon Knight’s Tale.

Divine Spear comes from Summer Ashe's Divine Sea Spear in Heroes and the description is a reference to his evil-repelling amulet.

Shatter Strike is a bow version of the combat art Shatter Slash.

I quite like this and where it's going.

As do I. I care about each and every one of these characters, and not just because of the suggestion/mention.

You see, the whole point of the prompt was to show that no matter someone's gender or sexuality, members of LGBT+ are just as human, and thus deserve to be given the same respect as "normal" people. For some of us, acceptance might be a slow work-in-progress, but that's okay too as long as those who do feel that way can get up in the morning and live their lives without fear of being mocked, exploited, or even cut down just because of who they love or how they feel about their bodies.

Both Carlina and Jiennu are compelling characters who each deal with that struggle in their own way. Carlina is a tragic figure who felt isolation and sacrifice were her only options lest she face the punishment of sinners, while Jiennu is a bit more open (if a little oblivious), but still unsure of herself. She fears the same kinds of things, yet Mother Nihila understands her, showing no malice for how she feels.

  3. I am caught in the Fomortiis wave for one simple and personal very biased reason: I have Ash & Ullr. I have Nótt. And I have Reginn & Seiðr, but as of now, I have no fancy Special Aether Slot Anima Mythic...not yet anyways. Oh hey, look, there's one in the Top 20.

  4. Holy smokes! Robin (Female) placed 4th for females?! I just have to pick someone new come CYL9, maybe. And what sort of shenanigans will Brave Gullveig create?

Duo Captain Elise! Not was I was expecting for a Fates Valentine's banner, but I'm happy for them!

For the Hero Rises, I still need an Anima Special Slot unit. So...Seiros Sweep!!!

All those 8-bit accessories...I need more R&R Affinity, and Heroes to put them on.

I'm very happy about the summoning changes, I cannot tell you how many times I've gotten several 5-star summons...and not a single one was a focus unit. I'm also okay with the Valentine banner, although I wish Sakura was the lead over Elise.

Elise already was a cohort in Female Corrin's Ninja alt.

Oh, right. For the first time in ... perhaps ever, I have all the Hero Fest characters. Not only that, Idunn is borderline stalking me. I don't even know what I should pull. Should I pull blue for lols because Idunn's stalking me anyway, or green because my Eitri's nature is garbage?

Can I offer you a bundle of nice Trait Fruit in this trying time?

This is kind of early compared to previous years, isn't it?

I suppose they REALLY didn't want to put in the Engage characters on this year's CYL banner or something I actually haven't looked at the site yet so if I'm wrong about this lol

That is odd. Oh well. At least it gives me a whole year to get to know them before voting.

  6. I nearly cried at seeing that the paired units being Cordelia and her daughter. The two may not always get along, but they came together as a Harmonized unit to celebrate Christmas after so much parentless doom and gloom on Severa's end. And isn't that what the Holiday season is all about? 🥲

  8. Speaking of Star Wars, eons ago, when various peoples were discovering the Force for the first time, it was used freely for selfish and selfless purposes. Long story short, a bunch of crazy backstory stuff happens about people trying to play god and conquer the universe or something, and the newly founded Jedi Order decided that certain powers be forbidden. Records of these so-called Lost Arts were steadily erased from history for the entirety of the Order's existence until it was wiped out in the Great Jedi Purge. Then after the Empire is defeated 22 years later, Force users lived in fear no longer, nor under the Order's strict rules. Thus, characters like Rey and Grogu were allowed to rediscover the previously "Lost Arts" on their own.

  9. General concepts can't be copyrighted. For example, a book with the synopsis of "Almost all people on the continent have magical powers, and to use such magical powers, they need to channel their magical energy out of their body in the form of the power they received at birth" is general enough to be protected. Heck, I'm writing a fantasy story with similar worldbuilding (just set back a couple hundred years). And if you're not publishing commercially, I doubt you need to worry about copyright at all. It's all in the context.

As for the continent's name, You should probably explain right off the bat that the name is a proprosital reference because of your love for Pokemon, since Arceus (as with all other Pokemon) is a specific name and creature that are most likely subject to trademark. The whole point of it is to avoid someone becoming confused and think the quadruped Pokemon creator deity is in your story. Again, this only applies if you plan to publish your work, say outside of fansites. The best I can say is to have a backup.

  10. - A flirty female character in the line of Gatrie, Laslow, Sylvain, etc.

    - A new type of beast unit. ex. bears

    - A Cain/Abel pair where the Cain is more laid back while the Abel is more serious

    - A female Merric-type character

    - The walking fan (someone who obsesses over the Emblem's exploits, knows all about them, and wants to be just like them)

I'd say... fine either way, so long they don't make it so you can lock yourself out of at least one of them due to the pairing choices you do. *looks at Sumia and Male Corrin*

    13 minutes ago, vanguard333 said:

I'm honestly fine with either method so long as there isn't an imbalance that can result in missing out on 2nd gen units.

Honestly, I think it would be interesting to see both: for every unit, there's a 2nd gen unit attached to them, meaning every pairing results in two kids.

Yeah, I almost made that mistake on my first Awakening playthrough. Had to swap out Kellam with someone who could marry Sumia at the last minute (He went to Tharja by the way).

As a budding biologist, I can see it both ways, with the whole "each child is the product of the crossing of several pairs of their parents' chromosomes thing," and also making a tad more sense for the child to be tied to the mother. She is the one who produces the egg and bears the child after all. And the X chromosome, to my knowledge, usually dominates over the Y chromosome, hence why you see so few colorblind females.

However, I can get Fates wanting to mix things up, Lord characters having their own children, and that technology is limited resulting in the only alteration being a partial palette swap, and in Selena's case iff you pair her with Subaki, a brief conversation at the end of Caeldori's paralogue. That's a step right? In an exercise where I gave Byleth, the House Leaders, and women all children, I gave the children hair color, Budding Talents, and Crests all based on the father.

    5 minutes ago, Edelguardiansing said:

Mixed is my best guess for any future games that'll have child units.

Another idea that popped into my head was the idea of specific pairings resulting in specific child units, that way the child in question doesn't have to be tied to just one parent for their characterization.

It certainly would be time consuming to do, and not every pair would be able to have a child, but I could still see it happen. It could even go a step further and have it so gay pairs result in the parents adopting a child.

I would definitely also do this if I had the time. Encourages replayability and could make for some good extra lore.
