  1. So all the namecalling banter aside, I'll post my own "That One Boss". Whitney. Yes, the Normal Type Gym Leader in Generation 2. (4 if you're on HG/SS) Being the 3rd Gym Leader you get access to, it becomes a major surprise how much of a difficulty hike there was from the 2nd Gym Leader (Bugsy) to her. Her Clefairy isn't all that bad. Just squash it with a strong fighting move, and you're good. (though if you're a slow fighting pokemon, and it pulls psychic, then prepare to cry.) Her Miltank, on the other hand, is a goddamn nightmare. It's faster than every single pokemon you have up to this point. It's very strong, and has the bulk to tank even a super effective hit. Worse yet, if Whitney hasn't burned a Full Restore on it yet, it also has access to Milk Drink, which pretty much nullifies any effort you may have put on if you scratched and clawed your way to that point. We all know about Rollout (and by that point in time, we don't even get the Protect TM yet), and as if to add more insult to injury, she has a strong STAB move with a 30% chance to flinch. Worse yet, you don't get steel type pokemon until much later. Oh, and it gets worse. In Gen 4, her Miltank has the Scrappy ability, which limits your switchins to this monster even moreso. Needless to say, having her use "Attract" on your unfortunately male pokemon is probably the least of your worries. Also, someone before mentioned Demyx. Dear god. NO. JUST. NO.
  2. Nah, Sonic ain't braindead. If anything, he's not even close to the Mario Bro's level in that department. Especially not Luigi.
  3. I enjoy fighting Sonics if they're not the For Glory kind. That being said I feel he is a very good character, and I also want to say he probably has top 10 frame data in the game as well? (don't quote me on this) that being said projectiles are indeed an issue, so characters like Mario who have barely any ending lag with his moves, and can keep Sonic at bay with his fireballs can prove to be troublesome. Luigi can probably be thrown in the same boat too and arguably can be even harder to approach, I'd think.
  4. Yoshi isn't a cult franchise. It's also had 5 very mediocre games one-right-after-another leading up to Woolly World. Of course it wasn't going to sell double figures of millions of copies. In fact, it's lucky it's gotten as many sales and reception as it did, because that might be just what was needed to revitalize Yoshi.
  5. I keep it simple when remembering who belongs to Nintendo and who belongs to Rare. The Kong family belongs to Nintendo. Anyone else OTHER than the Kongs belong to Rare.
  6. I've got nothing to add about Captain Falcon that hasn't already been said about him. One thing I do like to note, though. Do NOT air dodge against Falcon. Or rather, only do it when mixing up. Falcons are really good at punishing air dodges.
  7. You did? Glad to see someone browses FEP every now and then. A lot of things are preparing to undergo a massive overhaul, including FETO, which was (and still is) FEP's drawing point. In fact, FETO is going through massive amounts of changes right now, including 21 additional new skills, new classes, new maps, and a whole bunch of re-balancing. Sprite uploader still isn't fixed, but there's temporary solution to that.
  8. >Comparing a party kart-racing game to a 3rd person shooter game >Comparing a party kart-racing game to an F-1 racing game >Complaining about blue shells being unavoidable without items, when, sans 1 game, that has been the case in literally every Mario Kart game that had a Blue Shell. >Complaints on 2 very minor characters (one of which is entirely irrelevant today) not making it in. >Graphics I have my own reasons for hating MK8, but at least they're all valid. x:
  9. I'd hate to rain on your parade, but personally, Mario Kart 8 is, in my opinion, one of the worst Mario Kart games, only worse than Super Circuit on the GBA. I'm not going to get much into detail, because I can literally go on about the game, but items are too much of a factor. They're supposed to assist you in a race, not to overshadow racing entirely, and having your skill and practice put into the game take a backseat. That being said, I don't remember exactly how to unlock characters anymore, but if you want to unlock vehicle parts, have fun grinding hours upon hours collecting coins to get your parts. If you're a patient gamer who's OK with unlocking things in their own flow, this isn't so much of an issue, but for impatient gamers like me who want to get straight to unlocking content ASAP, it's an absolute nightmare, especially combined with the fact the part you unlock is entirely up to RNG. If you need any further help, I can try to point out some tips and tidbits that need to be known, however. Hit me up and I'll tell you about the basics, and if you're into online play, what to look out for online. However, for more in-depth knowledge of the game, it's generally better to find an online guide, or videos, and such and find out for yourself. If you're OK with a chaotic environment and care not about practice, this game is for you, but otherwise, at least I've given you a fair warning. Enjoy it as you see fit.
  10. https://youtu.be/B4i-9r3EihE?t=19m50s ...Yeah, I know who my vote is going towards.
  11. let's also not forget to mention Virtual Boy also competed with the likes of 3DO, Atari Jaguar, and CD-i, among other things that aren't even worth mentioning. All of which were equally bombed failures, themselves. i agree with everything that has been said

    Hello

Not really. It's been around for as long as I can remember, but I enjoy FFAs just to mess around with crazy sets. xD If you want you can hit me up on skype whenever you're up to it.

    Hello

Hey there. I'm kind of new myself. I see you also play Pokemon. Do you play pokemon in a competitive sense? As in, do you follow the metagame, etc? I'd be up for having some more frens to call up on for some crazy FFAs xD
  14. I've already learned a lot of new things from that one video alone. I can't wait to see if there's more to pick up the more videos I find of him. The challenge is putting all of it to practice. I'm up to the task, though. O:
  15. Thanks for the heads up. I'll definitely check Scatt out when I get the chance. Does he have a Youtube channel he uses? If not, that's fine; I could probably scour VGBC for a bit.
  16. It's possible to keep him at Lv12 Knight in LNM through some glitch wizardry or if you have very fast hands, but in LHM it's 100% certain.
  17. I've been watching GimR play for quite some time, so I can pick up how to better effectively use my #1 main, Mr. Game & Watch. I've also been watching StylesX2 for the very same reasons, as I'm also picking up Megaman. I'm also open to looking up some content for other high-level players who play those 2 characters, among some of the other complementaries I play. Who do you watch?
  18. Hector (FE7) Ephraim (FE8) Pauline (Donkey Kong) And as much as I'd hate to say it, King K. Rool (Donkey Kong) Poor guy had his chance, and he didn't crack top 10. Heck he didn't even crack top 20. :c
  19. I solely play Smash 4. Mains: Mr. Game & Watch, Megaman Complementaries: Mario, Lucina, Roy Chars I'm complete shit at but still play just to play: Lucas, Duck Hunt
  20. Looking at the title, I was honestly expecting a bad Megaman pun. I was sorely disappointed. That being said, my smash updates normally don't take very long. Usually 3 minutes tops. Then again, I always have something that can occupy my time.
  21. I think everything that needs to be said about Palutena has already been said.
  22. That was one problem on SNES Yoshi's Island that kinda nagged me. and technically we already have a machine gun and flamethrower lol..
