What is your unpopular Fire Emblem opinion?
CustardPudding replied to BlackSymphony's topic in General Fire Emblem
I suppose you got me there : P Smart and cleve are kinda the same thing, though. I suppose that's true. I never really made the time to get all of his supports except for Lilina's and Larum's, I think. I suppose that is a flaw, but I would argue it isn't exactly uncommon as Leif struggles with it as well, and Corrin (one of their 4 traits!), and Seliph. -
What is your unpopular Fire Emblem opinion?
CustardPudding replied to BlackSymphony's topic in General Fire Emblem
Dunno if this is unpopular or not, but whatever. I think that Roy is the most bland lord. Don't get me wrong, I still love him, but he really is. He doesn't have any flaws despite being dense to all of the ladies' affections, he isn't all that interesting. If you asked me to name 6 personality traits, I couldn't do it. -
On the Fallen banner I got Lyon and Julia, so I'm happy. Got a free Sirius, that was nice. I'm trying to get Bridal Micaiah, but I've gotten a free Oboro, about 5 Rafiels, and a Flying Olivia instead. Not bad, I suppose.

Probably The Hollow by Agatha Christie. The best mystery I've ever read. Other than that, I'm a weeb who also likes to read name books since I've never loved my own.

Eh, I suppose I've never really thought about it. Even if a character is considered a "Mary Sue" I usually like them anyway. For example, I love Roy, but I will openly state he has very little flaws. I do openly disagree that Micaiah is a Mary Sue, as well as Cordelia.

I guess being a jerk to my family when I was younger? I wish I had been, my 6 year old sister still hates me for being irritable to her when she was 3 and I feel really guilty about it. I would also try and pursue my ambitions as a writer a bit earlier in life. I spent 13 years of my life hating everything I did (sports, plays, etc.) until I learned I liked to write. So I would've been a lot happier a lot sooner.

I recently bought RD to play on my Wii, and while I already was aware of the lack of supports, actually playing it has made me wish characters got more development. So, who do you think should've gotten supports with who? I personally would've liked Micaiah/Sothe Edward/Leonardo Aran/Laura Micaiah/Ike Micaiah/Really any Dawn Brigade member Any characters with meaningful supports in POR (Jill/Haar, Ike/Elincia, Ilyana/Zihark) Muarim/Tormod

I expect that the eastern theme is correct, and that there will be a variety of characters from all different games (as it usually is with the bridal banner) When I saw it at first I thought MAYBE Eir? Fjorm was on last year and also has a new years alt. Hinata is also a good guess. My dreams would come true if we got a Sigurd/Deirdre or Tailtiu. But probably not. Every year the bridal banners have such random characters I have no idea who it could be.

My Main Issue with Alm
CustardPudding replied to Ottservia's topic in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
I agree with a lot of your points, but Alm is still my favorite lord regardless. He's likable without being annoying, and despite popular belief, he's not a gary stu or whatever you call it. I enjoyed the story for what it was, while I will openly state it was flawed. I feel similarly about Awakening. But really, every game and lord is flawed in some sort of way and I don't really have a game or lord I dislike. Sorry my writing sucks it's almost 12:00 and I'm very tired but torturing myself by staying awake.- 408 replies

The Legend of Zelda: The Age Forgotten
CustardPudding replied to Sir Gerwald of Vallora's topic in Written Works
The only Zelda game I've ever played was Windwaker when I was like 10. But I still enjoyed this! Great work : )- 2 replies

Why I cannot fully sympathize with Rhea
CustardPudding replied to omegaxis1's topic in Fire Emblem: Three Houses
I personally cannot sympathize with either Edelgard or Rhea. Both did some very wrong things that cost the lives of many innocent people, and I feel like the worlds both of them aim to build are unstable and will likely collapse again. Don't get me wrong, I actually LIKE both of them. They are both good people at heart who did some very bad things.- 225 replies

Yeah, I'm pretty sucky at playing FE as well. My first game was Awakening when I was 11, but even in all the years since then I've only played a FE game on classic once (on the ones where you were given the option) I'm playing Genealogy right now (just got to second generation) and even then it is really easy to load a save. The one time I played classic was when I was 13 and decided I would play Birthright with it, since I had three years of experience with FE. But then I killed both Mozu and Oboro in the same chapter, and vowed to never play on classic again. However, I kinda hate how 13 year old me was so I'll likely play classic again.

"Being stupid at video games as a kid" stories
CustardPudding replied to Dragoncat's topic in General Gaming
When I was 11 and got Awakening when it first came out, I didn't know that second and master seals existed so I went through the first half of the game with all my units in they're base classes. A couple years later when Fates came out, I still didn't know anything about Fire Emblem so I bought Conquest first, even though I had never played off of Normal Casual on Awakening. I think I remember liking it's cover or something like that, and when I actually played the story I wanted to pick the Birthright route but it wouldn't let me. -
Jill and Haar dancing duo (hopefully Jill gets an actual base form first) Tailtiu bride Seliph and Sigurd (I don't care what they give them, just give them alts) Mercedes Valentines Day Summer Florina (they gave Fiora an alt before her, c'mon) Any Lachesis that actually makes her look her age (I'm pretty sure she was 16-17 in Genealogy, but her art makes her look 13.)

This is a sort of passion project I've been working on since September. It has 3 parts. I've been working on a Google Doc for it, I'll attach it as soon as I've finished the first chapter. Part 1- Light and Redemption: 18 year old Zenaida discovers that Nobles in her country, Kwiat, are taking drastic measures to prevent people from taking action against Unckas' Remnant, a group dedicated to bringing back a god of destruction who raged war across the country 18 years prior. Thinking this to be an injustice, Zenaida brings together a group of people to defeat them, but at the end of the final battle, tragedy strikes and revelations are made. Part 2- The Beginning of War: 3 years after the events of Part 1, a young priestess named Fengari is given a message from the gods to journey to Kwiat's neighboring country, Sukaretto, to warn their Emperor of looming danger. At the same time, Zenaida's group is suffering heavy losses against a new group who formed from the shambles of Unckas' Remnant, Croceis' Truth, who are supporters of the future Queen Laverna, the queen of a small neighboring country named Octavia, promises to them. Nearly out of options, Zenaida's group turns to a mercenary squad to assist them, but the path to defeating both Croceis' Truth, Laverna, and Croceis herself is a tricky one. Part 3- Receivers of Destiny: 20 years after Part 2, Hermia, the daughter of Zenaida, has been tasked with forming a new group to defeat Laverna after a war against her spanning 20 years. (There's more stuff in Part 3, but that involves A LOT of spoilers so I'll keep that to myself for now.)

What was the happiest moment of your life?
CustardPudding replied to JubileePhoenix's topic in General
When I first bought a game in the Harvest Moon series. It seriously helped me overcome my anxiety. When I first decided I wanted to be a writer when I was like 11. I remember being really happy that day. -
Well, I like Custard Pudding. That's it. It really is good though. I'm kinda hungry now...

Caeldori/Shiro: A really cute support which also really expands on both characters. In my opinion some of the best writing in Fates. Mercedes/Sylvain: I didn't really enjoy Sylvain's character until after this support. After I knew more about him, I could truly embrace his character. Also, the fact that their child who succeeded Sylvain had no crest warmed my heart a little. Annette/Felix: Felix is actually really nice to Annette, plus Annette's songs are the cutest things ever. Fiora/Sain: I usually don't really care for Sain, but this was a sweet support. Lilina/Gonzales: While most of FE6's supports were forgettable, this one wasn't. At all. I felt so bad for Gonzales... Karel/Karla: It kinda reminds me of Mercedes/Jeritza in a way, but it's still really good on it's own. Good Karla characterization.

Granted, but it is also possible for Laura to marry Danved and Aran to marry Lyre, which causes the near entirety of players to use those pairings instead because they think they are funnier. I wish that Thracia 776 gets a good remake.

Granted. The game is butchered so bad that it becomes the worst FE game in history, and a mass burning of it takes place. I wish that lords like Elincia, Micaiah, and Seliph got more attention instead of the Awakening lords and Marth.
