  1. Always possible. Oh, I know! We know that Sigurd had been sending letters to King Azmur, only to have them intercepted by Reptor's boys; maybe Sigurd mentioned finding Brigid at some point?
  2. Whoops, that's a shame. Thanks for noticing that; I just got it fixed! Hrmmm...maybe Ring asked Andre to look into it at some point, and then Andre lied about the results? Less people to oppose his eventual power play and all that.
  3. "The near future" has now passed; it's UPDATE TIME!! Chapter 5 Part 1: http://lpix.org/sslptest/index.php?id=146221
  4. So let's suppose I don't want to be bothered to rig perfect level ups, but still feel like using your playthrough as a guide; would it be fair to say that I would want STR/SKL/SPD/DEF levels on Roy, Saul, and Shanna? And then STR/SKL/SPD levels would be fine for everyone else?
  5. So Irsya, how much of those perfect RN level ups were actually necessary in the end? Dondon said in one of his early posts that Str/Skl/Spd were the big three to aim for, and that the rest could be made up for with other RN burning. How accurate did that statement end up being?
  6. Well, I have a really thorough one cooked up that goes to the end of Chapter 4. And more will be added at a later date; but that should do you well in setting up for Gen 2. A good Gen 1 makes Gen 2 pretty simple, so, I'd check it out, see what you think! http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=54690&page=1
  7. Heya. I'm still around, and I still intend to finish this once I have time. School is currently running me ragged though, and I recently came down with a rather debilllitating illness. I'm hanging in there though; I'm just about on the mend, and I think I have a plan of attack for getting caught up on my school. It does, however, mean that there still won't be any updates in the near future. I just want to put in a placeholder post for keeping the thread unlocked, and for letting people know that this isn't over. God bless you everyone!
  8. I've got a Psychology assignment due this Tuesday where I have to do the following... The obvious issue, for me, is that I've never watched either show, so I'd hate to fumble through various episodes of both trying to find a good episode for analysis. So I was hoping that if anyone here was a fan, that they might be able to tell me which episodes were especially "Dr. House" or "Michael Scott"-centric. Thank you so much for reading, and God bless you!
  9. Well, the first one is easy. シナリオ is just them stealing the English word for "scenario". It's a Katakana word, which means it's a word that originated from another culture (they do this because English words look as fancy to them as the name "Mitsurugi" looks to us). 終了 is a noun that means "end", or "termination", and things of that source. And finally, タン is just them stealing the English word for "turn". So the first one would come up to something like "Turns Taken [at the] end [of the] 'scenario'" (it's possible that the word "scenario" here was localized as "Chapter" in the English releases). So the first one is "End Chapter Turn Count". Next... I'm not entirely sure on the first symbol, but...I believe 第1means "premiere, number one, big cheese", things like that, while 部 is simply a counter that you attach when a number is meant to signify the quantity of something (Japanese don't have plural word forms, so they need to attach these counters whenever they count). 総 means "all", or "total", and other things of that nature, ターン数 is the English word for "turn" again, but with that "we're counting something" suffix attached to it again. So I believe this one would translate into something like "Grand Total of Turns Taken Overall" or something...so yeah, it's the kind of thing that would sound awkward as all get out when translated too literally. 戦死 means "killed in action", so this here's saying that nobody died. I don't know the other two phrases though.
  10. I also have had no problems converting save files, outside of the occasional, temporary graphical glitches.
  11. Eh...I dunno man. Marth seems like the kind of guy who would be racked with guilt for making such a decision, especially given his whole "wallowing in pain" speech in the Prologue of Shadow Dragon. If nothing else, he'd want to establish a peaceful kingdom for the sake of everyone who died to bring him where he is. I feel that if Marth succumbed to anything, it wouldn't be indignation and wrath like it was for Hardin; it would be despair and insecurity, like it was for Nyna.
  12. ...Huh. You know what? That's a good point!! I could very easily see that working! Just give her a magic tome, and you'd even have yourself an intimidating end-game boss!
  13. Well...I mean, if we want to get really technical, kings in real life tended to have concubines. There'd be the woman they married, and then the women they actually WANTED to have sex with. This, as you can imagine, did not work out well at all for the women. They'd spend their whole lives fighting over the love and affection of the male, there would be inheritance issues up the wazoo, jealousy, strife...and then the actual wife would live an empty life as the woman who was unwanted by the man. So no, Hardin should not have sought an affair. He doesn't exactly have any other alternative, other than hope that Nyna eventually gets over Camus. Otherwise, well...The fact is, Boah and Nyna got her and Hardin trapped in a terrible situation, and there just wasn't much to be done about it.
  14. Except, why would Nyna even bother with the pretense? She probably pretended to love Hardin because she knew that he might not agree to it otherwise (since he actually DID have feelings for her, unlike Marth). But with Marth, there wouldn't be any need to do that. He'd know just as well as she did that their marriage was one based on political necessity, not romance.
  15. ...Did Marth even want her love though? If anything, I'd think he'd be fully acceptant of his arranged marriage. Heck, that might actually help the two come together; Nyna would probably appreciate him STILL being kind to her anyway, as he is want to do. EDIT: Because for anyone not in the know, arranged marriages...actually don't tend to work out as badly as we like to stereotype them. Sure, you generally won't ever have that full on "passionate love" that Western society loves to glorify...but on the other hand, the two DO generally learn to like each other a lot more over time. So you'll at least have that "friendship love", as well as a pretty solid "commitment love" that tends to be missing in a lot of the rather...volatile, haphazard relationships that teenagers tend to form. Other societies may not do well on passionate love...but on the flipside, America seems to really struggle with commitment love.
  16. Actually, even Clement is really simple if you know of an A.I. exploit. Clement's troops become aggressive the MOMENT Clement uses the Sleep Staff on someone, so just have someone catch a nap near the village where Levin was, and BAM! No more issues with Clement's meat shields.
  17. To answer this question, OHHH YES IT'S POSSIBLE! All one would need to do is grind Sigurd's Silver Sword to 100 kills on Chapter 1, stomp through Chapter 2, roll the dice on Eltshan, get the Live Ring, and BAM! He's more or less home free. And then if he wanted even more power beyond that? He'd grind the Hero Sword and Light Sword to 100 Kills on Chapter 5 reinforcements.
  18. ...OHHHHH!!! I GET IT! So, what you're saying is that there was more to the script than what I initially saw! So actually, it's more like this... Boah: Ngh... this is terrible... House Archanea must truly be cursed. As you know, two years ago... Hardin and Princess Nyna were wed. In order to restore Archanea to glory, a king was needed. There were but two suitable individuals: King Aurelis's younger brother, Duke Hardin, and you, Prince Marth of Altea... Princess Nyna begged me to wait just a while longer [because she was still holding out hope that Camus might be alive] but once I insisted of its absolute urgency [for we had already waited a year, and still had no indication that Camus was ever coming back]... She said that it could not be you, for Princess Caeda would grieve. In the end, Hardin was our only choice... Marth: Let me get this straight. I understand that Archanea could not be without a king. But Princess Nyna, she already...[loved someone else, didn't she?] Boah: You speak of Sir Camus of Grust? The people must never know...[because then there'd be rumors flying around about Nyna being an empty-headed howler who said "screw it" to her duties as the last descendant of Archanea, all so she could just run off with some random knight from the very nation that subjugated us. One that may not even be ALIVE, mind you. All it would do is give PLENTY of ammo for any noble who wants to wrest political control from her by launching a smear campaign]. 'Twould be heresy. The decision cost us dearly, but what choice did we have? It was for our country. [i mean come on, nobody saw Camus for an entire year at that point, and he wouldn't have been a suitable match anyway. What's she gonna do, marry some peasant?] On the bright side, Hardin was happy. In fact, the thought that he was to be Princess Nyna's husband pleased him greater than his ascension to the throne. Marth: I know of his feelings. I know that he would have given his life for Princess Nyna. Boah: But sadly, Hardin soon realized that Princess Nyna did not reciprocate his love. It pained him greatly [to think that he was getting the cold shoulder, just because she's holding out hope for some guy who died three years ago]... He shut himself into his room, drinking away his sorrows, and saw no one. Spotting an opportune moment [(Translation: Hardin was drunk as a skunk)], as Hardin wallowed in heartbreak, Gharnef appeared. The despairing emperor's heart was gripped by the Darksphere in an instant. He completely changed as a person from then. I've made a terrible mistake, out of my concern for this kingdom. Please forgive me, Prince Marth... Marth: So that's how it is. ...And what of Princess Nyna? How is she now? Boah: Hardin handed Princess Nyna to Gharnef. Gharnef said that he required the blood of noble-born clerics in order to resurrect the Shadow Dragon... Prince Marth, my end is nigh. I shall give you my tome and staff. Please save Princess Nyna. Even if Archanea's destruction cannot be undone... Make sure that she is safe...
  19. Hmm...well, I guess upon re-reading it, one could presume that Nyna was maybe holding out hope for Camus's possible survival? But...even then, I would assume that it wouldn't take her three years to move on from him, if she DID actually have any chemistry with Hardin.
  20. Well, the dirty details I got from Chapter 19, where Boah gave a short summary about what all went on before Hardin got possessed. Obviously the part about "you'll never be happy again, you'll never be married again, you're trapped with me, BWAHAHAHA!" wasn't there (nor was the bit about "Linkin' Park"), but that was pretty much the situation that Hardin was unwittingly dropped into. Other than that? Everything I said can be found in Boah's summary.
  21. Plus...I don't think Marth would have allowed it to happen anyway. He's spent a good chunk of his life living in a country village rather than within the trappings of noble society. And where Princess Nyna was passive and resigned, Caeda is packed to the brim with passion. She put herself in front of a fricken sword for goodness sakes! She was willing to get skewered through by Navarre just on the off-chance that he might've been a decent enough guy. Even if Marth had agreed to marry Nyna (which itself is a big assumption, considering his idealistic nature), I feel like his heart would have melted the instant Caeda made her feelings known. Marth'd spend the whole engagement bumming around all mopey, get down to about an hour or so before the main event, then Caeda would show up, pour her heart out to Marth...and then boom. Wedding crashed; why wouldn't it be? Archanea is already in shambles thanks to Medeus, and Marth is already known as the continent's saviour; it's not as though anybody would be able to tell him otherwise. Princess Nyna certainly wouldn't force the issue, and Hardin would probably just be relieved that he has another shot at Nyna. There'd be no one at Marth's social standing that would be able to tell him otherwise. And to anyone who thinks otherwise, remember; Marth is the same guy that was willing to revolt against the strongest military power on the continent, just because he didn't feel like abusing the civilians. Not even HIS civilians, mind you; but civilians from a completely different country.
