  1. Heh, yes you did. I probably glanced over that; sorry :( . Oh yeah, that's right...I was thinking of his first fight against Bebi Vegeta, where he tried using it, then lost it in a matter of seconds. I forgot about the rematch, where he sustained it for a longer period of time.
  2. Huh...looks like you're right! I just did a search on Nico Nico, and sure enough; there's at least one AAAA Rank run that allows Lenster to be captured in Chapter 7. ... Shoot, I'm not gonna have to change my Chapter 5 inheritance scheme AGAIN, am I?
  3. Huh...if you never did that for a full rank run, where did you learn that tidbit? How did you guys learn that there even was a "castle rank" to start with (as opposed to a counter that just kept track of how many castles were captured/destroyed no matter what)?
  4. Huh...is that right...did you ever do that for your AAAA Subs run? If so, that allows me to do a strat that I've always wanted to do for Chapter 7!
  5. Love, huh? For what it's worth, I think Gotoh's original NES theme was FAR better than any of the remakes. Listen to the two side-by-side... NES: SNES: And tell me that pitching the SNES version up was actually a good idea :\:
  6. Yep. Getting a castle conquered does decrease the Tactics rank; or at least I think I checked that once. Otherwise, I woulda just Returned all those guys in Chapters 7 and 8 :( ...
  7. Oh yes, and there's one other reason as well; recruiting Johalva takes less turns, and gets Julia a better weapon. Conquering Isaac gets her Rezire (12 WT, basically Nosferatu), but conquering Sophara gets her Aura (20 WT...bleh).
  8. Ohhhh, I see; so it's not that you try to use BOTH of them, it's that you pick one and stick with them. And I'm not surprised that Beo managed to promote by the start of Chapter 3; the guy starts off 6 levels higher than Noish!
  9. Ah, but see, that doesn't matter. The Killer Bow and Hero Bows only weigh 3 WT and 8 WT respectively, compared to the Hero Bow's 12 WT. Plus, Johalva gets more speed upon Promotion than Johan does... And yes, Bows really do save Johalva against Zeus. Or more specifically, the Killer Bow gives him the Dodge, Accuracy, and crit chance he needs to eke out a victory (though he does still want the Pursuit Ring). EDIT: A Level 30 Johan does still beat a Level 30 Johan in Speed, but only by 2-3 points. This advantage is then canceled out by the lesser WT of Bows.
  10. Alright; well what's the specific strategy for getting them said EXP? Just out of curiosity; does it involve going out of your way to feed them kills in Prologue and Chapter 1? Are there specific Chapter 2 enemies that they can kill more easily than others? Does one go out of their way to give them the Speed/Skill Rings? Does one set up kills for them in Chapter 2? I'm legitimately curious; I just can't think of a quick and easy way to catch them up besides grinding off of Marpha reinforcements in Chapter 1.
  11. "Above average EXP"? That doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement . ... I mean, yeah, I said that for Levin, but that was from the perspective of a casual playthrough. Guy's practically immortal once he promotes.
  12. Better Strength, better Defense, significantly better Speed, and he gets bows once he promotes. This makes him far better in the Arena than Johan could ever be.
  13. I don't know; I never found those two helpful for much besides chip damage. They're decent enough in Chapter 1, but they get totally stonewalled by all the armours, swordfighters, and other assorted miscreants in Chapter 2. By that point, it's better to just concentrate all your EXP into guys like Sigurd, Lex, and Cuan; rather than waste it trying to make Alec and Noish competent.
  14. Speaking of updates...here's the next one! Chapter 6 (Part 1): Sorry I was so late in getting this up; a bunch of technical stuff cropped up that delayed it.
  15. Yeah, I'll agree to that. I thought you had actually CRACKED the thing, but it turns out you ALMOST cracked it instead. There's a world of difference between the two :( ...
  16. Not to mention how expensive it is. 12000G makes it just about impossible to pass around without also missing out on the Elite Ring. As for Celice, everyone kind of took the words out of my mouth, so, 9/10, for the same reasons as everyone else. Also, I would like to change...
  17. Well he IS Sigurd's son; the same man who immediately married Deirdre the first opportunity he got. Guess it runs in the family
  18. By the way, I have the Dozel enemy stats. They are as follows... Great Knight lv 26 (silver axe): 70 hp, 45 atk, 98 hit, 12 avo, 22 def, 11 res Troubador lv 26 (mend): 52 hp, -- atk, -- hit, 26 avo, 13 def, 5 res Burian lv 30 (Swanchika): 80 hp, 57 atk, 118 hit, 24 avo, 47 def, 27 res Skills -> pursuit, charge Daggon lv 29 (Fenrir): 69 hp, 37 atk, 106 hit, -4 avo, 12 def, 20 res Skills -> pursuit
  19. BRIGGID: Hrrmmm...*sigh*. Well, her base stats are ludicrously high; she's also going to be getting a Holy Weapon this very chapter, one that gives +10 Str, +10 Spd, and even the Live skill! Unfortunately, said Holy Weapon has 13 WT instead of 8, so Brigid's AS ends up being 18 instead of 23; but it matters not. She still probably won't be outsped by anyone she fights, and she'll be getting 60+ MT with that Holy Weapon in action. But, she's still a foot unit that's locked to 2-Range. It's a shame seeing those kinds of stats and weapons locked to 6 Move and 2-Range, but, that's the way it goes sometimes. Still, she DOES get to do some helpful things here and there. She's a fantastic meatshield for Claude and Taillte in Chapter 3, she can murder pegasus knights and kill those Blizzard spammers in Chapter 4, and she's a nice crutch character for fighting the likes of Langbart and Reptor in case you didn't get Holsety. Sure, Sigurd can use his Tyrfing, but he may not be able to get as many uses out of it as he would like; and he's locked to 1 Range besides. So in conclusion, she's hits ridiculously hard for someone who takes absolutely no investment, she's fantastic at protecting Claude and Taillte, and she gets herself a free Holy Weapon. And, she still suffers from the same weaknesses that all archers suffer from. 7/10 (Aira got a 6/10 from me, and I got more use of Brigid than I ever got from Aira) CLAUDE: There's...actually not a whole lot to say about him. He's not great in combat, but his supremacy in staves is more than enough to make up for that. The Reserve staff, for example, is borderline broken; it restores [10 + Caster Magic] to everyone with 10 spaces of the caster! 10 Spaces! That is an absurd amount of range for someone who can restores up to 31 HP at once! The Valkyrie staff is pretty cool too; it revives dead people! It can only be used once before breaking, however; in other words, you have to pay 30,000G for every time you use it. 9/10 (+1 extra for being able to revive dead people)
  20. ...But, "reasonable" is subjective. Flat not accepting someone's opinion just because it sounds "unreasonable" is a very dangerous game to play. It's how otherwise intelligent people are able to villify half of their own country for not voting the candidate they would have liked for them to vote for while STILL congratulating themselves about how "progressive" and "open-minded" they are! I'm mean, there's nothing wrong with critical thinking, but; writing off someone's opinion isn't something that you should do unless you've talked to them over a LONG period of time, and have tried to understand them in every way possible.
  21. But oh hey, Twilkitri has that "Early Official Website" page! Remember? The one that listed Beowulf as Nanna's fateher in FE5? Well here you go! Just use Google Translate; it at least translates names accurately. https://web.archive.org/web/20000605013413/http://www.nintendo.co.jp/n02/shvc/bfej/data/chara/index.html
  22. Ok, change of plans; the next update probably won't be directly on New Years. There's more to do than I thought there was, so I most likely won't be able to make it without rushing things. Sorry guys!
  23. And that's our final Gen 1 wrap-up post; look forward to Chapter 6 Part 1 tomorrow! On New Years! CURRENT AAAA RANKED RUN STATS (END OF GEN 1): http://lpix.org/sslptest/index.php?id=146359
  24. Alright guys, this is the last story post; there will be one more post detailing the AAAA Rank stuff that I didn't include in the last Chapter 5 updates, and then we'll continue the main playthrough tomorrow! WHY WAS ALVIS TAUNTING SIGURD? (I'd post the link, but it contains many Gen 2 spoilers): http://lpix.org/sslptest/index.php?id=146348
