Why should she be weaker than Soren?

She's one of the few characters that you need to bring to the tower, it'd be absurd if you're bringing a character that has a direct connection to the goddess and her blessing to be weaker than your ordinary mage. Sephiran is the strongest mage for similar reasons as Micaiah except for being older and more experienced.

I'm talking Lore-wise, not Gameplay-wise. In terms of the balance, of course Micaiah needs to be better than Soren. Of course, talking of balance and Radiant Dawn, the two don't really get along well, but that is beside the point.

hmm... you might want to put it in spoiler bracket, i dont mind spoiler, but other people might.
actually playing RD might change my opinion later about RD character
i meant not as strong as Ike since he's melee oriented, but as strong as someone who already fought and survived many wars as a magic user.

I'm new here so, uh... IDK how to put a spoiler's bracket on it. Sorry.

As for the second part, that's a good point. Micaiah shouldn't be as strong as, say, Soren, but she is. Blame IS, I guess.

this is what i keep having problem arguing about character in tellius compared to other games. the game have direct sequel with time skip (which shared only with marth stories) , fancy god antagonist that everyone treat as most powerful antagonist because they slap "god" real hard in it , which somehow make everyone forgot that other FE series peak Divine dragon also considered a god in their own continent.
the power scaling / power creep is just unfair. (and dont start about micaiah only fight one war, since thats the same what happen in many japs manga/anime with sequel, new main char somehow always catch up to seasoned veteran that already in sequel despite them being stronger than ever than the prequel they were in)

but ofc, feel free to disagree with my comment since i havent played RD... (i plan to)

Radiant Dawn, Awakening, and Fates spoiler warning!

Going off topic for a bit, but here we go. Ashera turned all living things to stone at the end of Part 3 of Radiant Dawn. In addition, she made the Tellius World and most things in it (Evolution eventually led to the Beoric and Laguz). If Ike, Micaiah, and Co. didn't have Yune to help them, she would have destroyed the world and made a new one.

Compare to Naga who strait up says she is not a God, and Anankos who says he was impressed by Naga sending so many of the Awakening children back in time while barely being able to send Owain, Severa, and Inigo to the Fates world.

Also, I think Micaiah was never said to be as strong as Ike, and I think Heroes said that Ike is the strongest Hero (Don't quote me on this, seeing as I last played Heoes 2~3 years ago)

  4. Ah, Dimitri! Possibly the single strongest unit in the game. (I assume I can still get my opinion in, seeing as this topic was opened 12 hours ago)

Skill Levels:     D+ and a Boon in Lances is a thing, I guess. Lance skill in this game does a lot less than an Axe Boon, so… Dimitri also gets E+ Swords and D Authority with a boon in both. Of the two, the Authority is more Important, for reasons that will soon be apparent. His Budding Talent in Riding is possibly the worst in the game, as Seal Move is near useless, but more on that latter. As for his Banes, an Axe bane hurts him, but not as bad as it would hurt others, and Reason is irrelevant on Dimitri.

Abilities:     Battalion Wrath at C and Battalion Vantage at A. You know what’s up here. Crits for days! Unfortunately, he can’t get normal Wrath is a timely manner, so his Crit build suffers for it. Model Leader is pointless, said simply. Rally Charm is all the way at S and he doesn’t get any other Rallies, therefore that is also pointless on him.

Arts:     Ok, so Dimitri’s arts aren’t the best. Monster Piercer at C+ Lances is almost irrelevant as Gambits are a thing. Glowing Ember would serve better on someone with higher Defense, but it’s decent. For the Sword arts, Sunder is passable if you’re fishing for Crits. Windsweep is great, but he only gets it at A Swords so he doesn’t have long to play with it.

Stats:     Oh, boy. Remember what I said about Dimitri being one of the best units in the game? Yeah, here’s why. At 12+60% Strength, he has the highest Strength in the game. 9+55% Charm is one of the Highest in the game. 7+50% Skill and Speed is respectable, and 7+40% Defense is well above average. 4+20% Magic is utterly irrelevant for Dimitri (Who in their right mind uses him as a Mage?) 5+25% Luck is a minor issue, meaning he will face a fair bit of Crit, but he’s so strong otherwise that a Crit will not hurt his that severely. 4+20% Res. This is his only real problem. Mages are a major issue for Dimitri, his kryptonite, if you will.

Classes:     Beginer Classes- Soilder for Reposition or Myrmidon for +2 Speed

Intermediate- Mercinary for Vantage (Subbing for Battalion Vantage), Thief for the 10% Dex and Speed, or Cavalier for the Lance Proficiency and Move

Advanced- Swordmaster or Assassin for the Growths or Paladin for Lancefaire and Move

Master- Dimitri a) doesn’t suite any of the Master Classes and b) already has High/Great Lord

Personally, I like putting him down the Sword Line. Move is nice, yes, but it is nothing compared to the monster of stats that is.

              The Verdict

All said Dimitri is absurdly strong and is - in my opinion - stronger than the other 2 (3 if you count Yuri) Lords. He is not perfect, but he comes the Closest of all units in this game, so it is only fitting that I give him a 10/10. Enough said.

  5. Walmart Vs Alm Vs Edelgard? Sounds like a toss up to me. If it is 1 Vs 1 Vs 1, then I'd say Walhart (Conquest, Aegis, Pavise, and Rightful King + Wolf Biel).

If it's Empire Vs Empire Vs Empire, then I would say Alm (Basically the same as Walhart's Empire while it is also Riding High off of Mila's and Duma's Blessings).

If we also Include those Empire's Allies, then Edelgard (N/A Vs Jesse's Kingdom Vs TWSITD, Demonic Beasts, and Brigid).

So, going for the Wyverns, who wins out of Ashnard, Travant, and Claude?

  6. Petra, huh? This is the first 'Rate the Unit' I have commented on, but here we go! (Also, brace for a wall of Text). DISCLAIMER: this is just from my point of view, while rating her in a vacuum.

Skill Levels:     D+ and a Boon in Swords means she can get into Mercenary at base, which is something. E+ and a Boon in Axes and Bows means easy access to Death blow, Wrath, Accuracy +20, etc. In all honesty, I don’t think +20 Hits is that great, but hey, that’s just my opinion and has no impact here. D and a Boon in Flying, however, is very good, as with just a bit of Lance training get her to Darting Blow and latter - possibly – Wyvern Lord.

Abilities:     Hunter’s Boon only has 1 use if you ask me: Monsters with 100+ HP, which is of variable use depending upon the route and difficulty. Battalion Wrath opens the door for Vantage+100% Crit setups, but Petra isn’t the only character to do this, nor is she the best at it. The 2 viable builds for her (in my humble opinion) is the afore mentioned Vantage + Crit setup or a Dodge-Tank build.

Arts:     Waning Shot is of fair usefulness against some Bosses and Beasts. If you do try to use Wild Abandon or Diamond Axe, then I daresay Hit +20 is quite useful, but aside from that, her Axe arts are underwhelming at best. As for Sword Arts, Bane of Monsters is of questionable use while Finesse Blade can maybe do a lot of Damage, as Petra’s Dexterity is 7 Base +50% Growth.

Stats:     9+40% Strength is passable, 7+50% Dexterity is solid, 10+60% Speed is only surpassed by Yuri, but unless you bought the DLC, he’s not a consideration. 7+45% Luck is decent, but Luck isn’t what I’d call good in the best of situations.

Her other stats, however… 25+45% Hp is mediocre for a Front-line unit, 3+25% Mag is not worth considering, 5+30% Defense and 2+15% Resistance means if she does get hit, it WILL hurt. 6+35% Charm depends on the difficulty: Hard is irrelevant as enemies (Aside from actual Characters) are a joke when using Gambits, while in Maddening she’ll be target practice.

Classes:     Beginner Classes- Soldier/Fighter for Reposition/Shove, or Myrmidon for the +2 Speed (It’s good in the Early Game!)

Intermediate classes- Brigand for Death Blow, +30% Hp, and +10% Strength, Pegasus Knight for Darting Blow and +10 Speed, or Archer for +20 Hit

Advanced- Assassin for the 6 Move and sprinting through Terrain, +20 Dexterity, and Speed, Warrior for Wrath and +15% Strength, Swordmaster for +10% Strength and +20% Speed, or Wyvern Rider for being a Flier and +10% Strength

Master- Either Wyvern Lord (Preferred) or Flacon Knight

All in All, Petra is good for either going down the Sword Line ending at Assassin (Or Falcon if you feel like getting her E rank Lance to B+), the Axe Line ending at Wyvern Lord, or - I recommend against this - the Bow Line ending at Bow Knight (Or Sniper for Hunter’s Volley and not having to get her Lance to C and Riding to A).

                    The Verdict

Petra is very Versatile, almost too much so. How good she is depends upon her build. Personally, I would have her in either Assassin or Wyvern Lord, using either Sword or Axe Prowess Lv5, Alert Stance+, Vantage, Wrath, and Battalion Wrath. In such a scenario, I’d give her a 8/10. She crits stuff to death – or failing that – dodges the retaliation.
