  1. Bug/glitch on chapter 5:

    if you KILL the soldier that comes out with Mil BEFORE the event where he turns green, the convo still happens and the game ends up spawning a new soldier then crashing. Skipping the cutscene with start seems to work though.

    Also, not sure if the previous one caused this, but Boor's boss convos were a Donwik/Raksha convo (when I attacked with Ragnar) and someone else's (forgot who) when I attack with Mil.

    Okay ima check that soon, this is the first time hearing this kind a glitch.

    Alright, so I finally finished this hack, mainly due to the difficulties I was having with chapter 10 due to not buying healing items in the previous chapter because I'm stupid. Anyways... really impressed. The story, the gameplay, the characters; everything speaks to you. You feel the characters, you don't just play the game for fun, the characters are an integral part of it.

    I don't have any screenshots for the characters by the end, but all I can say is that most of the characters felt fine.

    - I think I got RNG fucked with Vidar though, while Tero was a monster, having 19 strength, 16 skill and 14 speed at level 18, with the rest of his stats being all near 10.

    - Ragnar was a smack-in-the-middle of the road character; he had no strengths, no weaknesses. Every stat except for luck reached at least 10 by level 17, which is exactly what I expect from a regular soldier aiming to make a difference, as you stated.

    - Abner was a MONSTER. He had 12 for everything except for resistance, which was at 6 and speed, which was at 19, all at level 18.

    The rest of the cast was pretty much normal, having growths that complimented their class well.

    Now, there were a few grammar errors which you should just patch up real quick. Unfortunately these screenshots are huge, so I posted direct links rather than them as pictures:

    - One thing I never got to screenshot was that Faris was called Farin when first introduced. I think his name was mentioned as Farin three times until it finally changed to Faris permanently.

    - Something else I didn't screenshot was that Badrick's death quote was Bartre's.

    I'm pretty sure this was in chapter 4/when you recruit Mil against the boss. When engaging against the boss as Ragnar this fight occurred. There was also another occurrence with Mil, replacing their dialogue with chapter 3's boss encounter as Iivari.

    There was also something I came across, which was that Senka didn't have a death quote. Not sure if that's intentional or not, but it should be fixed if it isn't.

  2. Just finished it, absolutely great work. I'm always a sucker for these rebel stories but I really love the direction you've gone with this. Definitely my favorite WIP hack so far, and I really hope you finish this!

    I shall play this hack eventually... In the meantime, congrats on the internship! I had one as well and it was AWESHUM :D (assembling about 10 computers in 1 day was fun as well as updating 500 documents in the support repository and setting up about 5 iphones for employees)

    Hmm, I have a question about chapter 8x. I did pretty much everything directed, but one problem is that when the 4th prisoner tells you about a ward of some sort; I checked every single cell (while tanking the boss because I'm dumb and didn't think to talk with Mil) and nothing happened. Any reason for that? Or am I just stupid and looking in the wrong area altogether?

    You probably looked in the wrong area. It's all the way to your right behind the crack wall

  3. Ahh... double posting.

    Sorry guys, L95 has pointed out that there's been a glitch in chapter 7 with a door not opening.

    It was an issue that if restart or resume the chapter, the door "Unlock" function will not show up due to an event ID. If you play the chapter without restarting and resuming, it will work. However, I changed the ID to make it open at all times.

    I apologize again, I'm not trying to be a pest with these updates but I make sure that the players will not run into these problems. Even though I playtested it like 100 times.

    Updated the patch in the OP.

Ah right, speaking of the Kimera bow... on my end it has the animation and it attacks, but the arrow doesn't come out, nor does the game indicate you actually attacked them; you just find out after the skirmish whether you killed them, hurt them or whatever. Not sure if this is the fixed version or not, but just thought I'd let you know.

    I've also screenshot a few grammar errors and script errors, so when I finish the hack I'll share them.

    Yes, this patch I uploaded has the Kimera Bow animation fixed so that should not be a problem.

  5. There are some bugs:

    1. Kimera Bow don't do any damage. Battle animatios is ok but there is no damage

    2. In chapter 3 there are some invisible enemis for example: myrmidon near enemy with Barier or two horse rider near enemy with Red vine

    First bug fixed. Forgot to add the animation to it. Updated the OP with bug fix.

    For number two, I don't know what youre talkin about because I don't see any invisible enemies unless you talking about enemies coming out. That's intentional.

    Old saves work? Shoot, I don't even remember how far I was though.

    I don't think it will due to the fact that I changed a lot of stuff. Might as well start again

  6. Ladies and gents back from the depths...

    Original plan was to release the patch after FEE3. However, school started and got mad busy with that and landing an internship on top of it.

    Now, I can present to you the patch VERSION 2.5 updated in the OP.

    Changes:

    Updated whole story scripts. Huge thanks to PureHeaven!

    Revamped most maps, graphics and gameplay.

    First part of story, all death quotes implemented.

    Known problems:

    Some palettes are still yet to be changed.

    I know I've been releasing patches to only have content from Prologue to Chapter 13. That's because I still lack the graphics I need to continue. Huge thanks to Lenh for a couple of sprites she gave! However, I still need a couple for chapters 14A and 14B. Spriters are still available to help out if desired.

  7. Ragnar with a use of lance is not a problem at all. (I don't find it to be). The reason being is that I try to balance this hack as much as I can. Obviously, the new patch is not out yet but I have made dramatic changes to see if the balance is there in every chapter. The only chapters that are axe-heavy is chapter 4 and chapter 8. However, this is a strategic game. If you play the cards right, axe-heavy or not, there should not be any problems. Unless my balance is way off lol.

    So FEE3 patch has been submitted and chapter 9 will be LPed. It is a completely revamped chapter with tons of new stuff.

    First i have to say that i love your hack and is for me the best hack around so far and im excited what the future holds.

    and then i have a question.

    Have you ever thought about making unique sprites for some characters?

    like in blazing sword Hawkeye,guy,raven or Legault who have all their unique look.

    im not talking about animations or custom classes only the sprite.

    Characters like Lycus,Ragnar,Drogan or Zidar

    who have generic look Classes with helmets and things that look always the same.( only different colors) are not unqiue at all.

    This dosent fit the potrait look and they always look like all other units with the same class.

    Zidar will have the hawkzerker animation so it's like a custom one anyways lol. As for the others, all the post referring to the sprites is true. It is a long process and I will not have the time to do those.

    I just took a look at both of the scripts for the original and armored brigand's hand axe's animations and found that they were completely different. I'm going to assume this is your problem.

    If you're going to color/pixel over a pre-existing animation, at least have the decency to use the same script.

  13. Yes, I have tried with other classes and it does the same. But I found that it only happens when you attack anyone else who has a range weapon(archer, nomad, mages, etc). It works when it attacks someone up close and far with no counterstrike.

    You can see that everything is set up fine.

    Let me give further details: It was an enemy armor brigand that attacked Kiowa(nomad). It was a range battle. The arm brigand attacked and hit showing the animation but then it just softlocks and Kiowa doesn't attack back.

  15. You're not supposed to kill him. Did you pay attention to the dialogue text at the beginning?

    It's because you're not supposed to kill him. There are several civilians that were forced to become soldiers for the Silvaticans in that chapter, so killing them is a no no. It's been a while since I last played, but I think the ones with really low HP and generally shitty stats are the ones you don't kill.

    Both of these are correct. However, I have changed it so the next patch won't be like that. If you kill one, it will lower the amount of gold you can receive in that chapter.

    I like the look of the new changes! The old version of the hack was good, but definitely flawed. Also, in the new version, will the sidequests and final chapter give XP? I know that it was to, respectively, not imbalance the PCs power curve so taking sidequests would trivialize the game/not taking them would make it harder and to allow you to focus on combat rather than levels in the final chapters, but for 8x and chapter 10 in Ragnar mode, it just turned the chapters into very unrewarding experiences. I finished 8x with nothing but a few items and the promise of a future plot thread, after easily trivializing it by blocking all the stairs for 40 turns, because there was no reason not to! It wasn't fun. In chapter 10, having no exp in a chapter that was part of the main story and felt like you should have been gaining exp in(because, unless Ragnar's entire party gets slaughtered by the plot, you could have used those levels!) felt more like an excuse for the level to throw bazillions of enemies at you than anything else.

    In short, the hack was great and I enjoyed most of it, but I don't support taking away all exp gain from side chapters and the ragnar finale(UNLESS the plot kills his entire party later, or something else makes them unusable).

    Thank you for the critique/feedback. Chapter 8x and 10 will have exp now since I have a new character in it. And Rinoa healing exp has been lowered from 21 to 11.
