Gau~ Alright, this is the basic idea here. With "strategy" you can use almost any unit, it's a fact. So, with strategy, Dozla could be incredibly effective. But most other characters are at least as effective WITHOUT strategy, and thus would be far more effective WITH strategy. What I think you guys aren't quite getting is that we know how the game is played. We understand the strategy. Strategy has no bearing on a units usefulness. In addition, every single person has a different playstyle, so debating takes all of them into consideration, which is essentially the same as taking none of them into consideration. So basically, Dozla is bad because the amount of effort/strategy/thought it takes to effectively use him could be used to use another unit EVEN MORE EFFECTIVELY. By no means should you never use him, or should you think he can't BE used. He's just NOT AS GOOD as a lot of other characters.

Beat him everytime. When I raise Mist, it's pathetic. Otherwise Mist with Physic, or a lot of Elixirs works like a charm. I always end up with fuckloads of Staves anyway, since Volke has to do SOMETHING when he's not picking locks. :3

I was mainly kidding. Ironically however, Makalov is actually a better Sword Wielder than the SMs in this game.

Come now, can you honestly say you've never had the experience of a Level 20 Ike sitting around not killing things to avoid wasting experience? :P

I know you can't. What I'm saying is that for BOTH OPTIONS, Amelia is better. You have other good units too. You can use them for all sorts of things. Hell, you don't have to use Amelia for Dozla's job. But the point is, if she did, SHE'D BE BETTER THAN HIM AT IT. We understand you can't have one unit do everything. But some units are just better at basically everything. Amelia's only real weakness is her shitty Join Situation. Ironically, she'll end up better if you go Knight > General, but it's usually better if she goes Cavalier first because it makes training her a hell of a lot easier.

Now, I have a question regarding this... I have heard that if you play Lyn Hard Mode, and don't give Wallace the Knight Crest, when you get him again later on he'll be a General with the stats he would have as a level X Knight. In other words, he would maintain STATS, but his class would be the same no matter what. I have not confirmed this yet, but I will try. However, this has other implications... What if you used the Knight Crest on Kent or Sain. By this logic, they would gain a bunch of stat ups basically for free, and you could still 5 Star funds. I've never tried any of this before, usually keeping the Knight Crest to ensure 5 stars in Funds. Anyone know anything about this?

Well, the reason is this, I believe: The enemy nation is ALWAYS the one with Dragon Knights. Dragon Knights are usually a pretty big part of the enemies army.

Except Amelia wins at her role, and beats Dozla at his. She reliably tanks better than him and kills things better. So either way she wins. In fact, she wins EVEN MORE with this "role" business.

Probably doesn't mesh well with how you play the game...

Swords are cool and all, but so are other weapons. GENERALS CAN WIELD LOTS OF COOL WEAPONS! In fact, FE8 Generals can wield Axes, Swords, and Lances. That is fucking cool. Plus, Generals have pretty fucking epic caps. I also like Berserkers because of massive Strength, Axes, and terrain movement.

I'm pretty weird. A lot of the time I use multiple units who start out with just Healing. Lots of Magic Users in general, actually... In FE7 I almost always use Serra, Erk, Priscilla and Lucius (<3). In FE8 I almost always use Moulder, Natasha, Artur, and Lute. In FE9 I almost always use Rhys, Mist, Ilyana, and often Soren. Etc. And from both a Personal Experience view, and a technical view, using starter Healers, hell, using several of them, is pretty damn helpful. So yeah, what Fox said.

True. I really don't think the Chapter is THAT long, and I always find a lot of time to heal... Who knows... Nils takes more than one Balista shot to die, and he often dodges them. Purposefully getting your guys hit will actually help you because of extra XP gained, etc. Enemies in Lyn's Mode are so sparse you don't really have to worry about dieing either.

Meh. Maybe it would be more accurate to say "On the whole, Dozla's support options are not as efficient and beneficial as those of many other characters in the game, and, in fact, they may have a detrimental affect on your team." Basically, Dozla's supports just aren't as appealing over all. But Dozla is sexy stuff. Hell, since this is an encourage thread... USE EVERY UNIT YOU HAVEN'T USED BEFORE! EVERYONE! Oh, you want motivation? 7-9 are really easy anyway, NM FE6 and FE10-11 should be fine too with basically every configuration ever. Hell, HM RD isn't OMGWTFHAXTEAMNEEDED Hard either. HM5 FEDS is though. :( FE4 you can use everybody anyway. FE5... Uh... I'll get back to you on this one.

Wait, why not use Nils? I don't think using Nils a bit in Lyn's story (he'll only really get to ~ level 7) is going to be hurting Experience much.

We always debate in HM. Amelia is pretty much a breeze to use on Normal or Easy. And yeah, you quoted where Tino said Amelia was good because she was EXCELLENT endgame. So you said there where lots of other excellent characters. And Amelia is really good endgame. Her earlygame sucks, sure, but she can get past that easily enough.
