  1. Part of me feels like using Amelia once I recruit her in my current chapter. She's not even on screen yet, and I only got a few lines from Chapter 5, when I visited her house and got a torch. There are a few good reasons why it's a bad idea. -First, she's a Trainee, so she'll start at level 1(?) and will have bad starting stats. Yes, I can have her visit some monsters at the tower, but she'll have to be babied either way, and I'll have to focus on protecting her. -Second, she can be a knight (making her lancelocked and slow) or a Calvier (I already have three). -Third, I didn't even touch Ross, so why should I use her? I think it's the whole heel face turn thing that's attracting me to her, despite the reasons saying it's a bad idea. I was able to make a hard decision to drop Vanessa in favor of Tana (some better stats and better growths, despite being 3 levels lower), so why should this be any different?
  2. I actually had Seth handle it, and then Colm unlocked the chest. His sword broke, but it was worth it.
  3. I benched Vanessa and currently charging through. I am a bit worried about getting my hands on that Angelic Robe, though, since it is guarded by 5 well armed men, and has a bottleneck stairway. And if someone dies, I'm going to the beginning of the map.
  4. The reason I don't use Neimi is because there's plenty of characters that can attack from a distance, but isn't helpless if someone manages to come in close.
  5. I've been using 10 people (9 if you don't court Eirika). But in chapter 8, I get to take only 9, meaning one is left out. Eirika has to come along, making it 8. The problem is who gets left behind. The characters I use are: Seth-Promoted Lv 3 Franz-Lv 7 Garcia-Lv 7 Lute-Lv 7 Vanessa-Lv 6 Joshua-Lv 6 Artur-Lv 6 Colm-Lv 4 Natasha-Lv 1 I want to keep Seth, since he has some support with Eirika and Franz. Natasha has support with Joshua, and Artur with Lute. I also want to have Colm with me for the chests.
  6. I felt that Neimi wasn't all that useful (there are others that can attack long range and aren't useless close up), so I never used her. But now I'm in level 7 and have ballistas that I can use. But I don't know if they'll be any use if used by a low level Neimi. So is she useful in a ballista despite her low level, or should I just leave her on the bench?
  7. Gamestop stopped taking GBA games some time ago. So the ones they have left are the ones nobody wants.
  8. About Neimi, she's not bad, just suffers from an overspecialization to bows. Also, there are some that can attack from a distance and close up (Vanessa, Garcia, Artur, and Lute, to name a few), making them more useful.
  9. Underredskies. I used to have a similar problem. Then I started taking a closer look and read some topics about the subject. I was able to drop Ross, Gilliam, and Neimi in my current playthrough, and actually use Seth (though only when I feel he's needed).
  10. I'm sure all of you have seen at least one, despite the low difficulty. A careless mistake, some bad luck, and you have one less soldier giving his or her final words (and then you reset and try the chapter again). But which one is the saddest?
  11. Okay, I want to go on record saying that I HATE Fog of War. Anyways, my plan is to have Seth ride up to the boss and take him on alone, cutting down anyone foolish enough to get in his way. Everyone else will stand in a circle, magic users giving support and healing in the center, and just survive (I may pull out Gilliam for this). I haven't decided if Vanessa will go to the mountains and buy me extra time. It sounds kind if cheap, but it's better than taking it on the normal way. And with the spiders, speed is of the essence. I just hope my soldiers can survive long enough for Seth to make it.
  12. Okay, since I'm at the end of Chapter 5 (just have "that blackheart Saar" left), I thought it would be a good time to get some support conversations started. So I looked at the bonuses that the characters I'm currently using give to each other, and I'm not pleased with the results so far. Not that it's great no matter who you pair up, but all the characters I've looked at thus far have better bonuses from others later on. But I have no guarentee that I'll find the later ones useful, or use them for any length of time. I guess I am looking too deep into it, but the support conversations are one of the many things that make Fire Emblem unique, and the perfectionist in me wants to use it to it's full potential.
  13. Fail: I moved Colm to visit a town, but accidentally picked wait instead of visit. He got trapped at the town gate and couldn't get away. He dodged all of them once, not so much the second time.
  14. Hawk king: What I mean is having one unit doing two jobs. For example, instead of Artur using lightning, and Lute using fire, one of them will have both.
  15. 1.I'm not planning to use Neimi, but I was thinking of having her go to A support with Colm. But since she won't be battling, that seems a waste of supports. I could just have her tag along, but that could waste a spot that could go to a more deserving team member. What do you think? 2.Is it a good idea to have one team member doing the work of two? For example, Vanessa is my Pegasus Knight, but I also have her handling long range duties with Garcia. I also plan to have either Artur or Lute having two different magic books, and using the one that fits the situation. Is this a good or bad idea?
