  1. feminazis is a very confusing word. I think we'll need to rigorously debate and argue what exactly this term means before we can get anywhere constructive
  2. @refa Seriously, do you even math? It's clear you haven't learned anything in grade school and know jack shit about addition at all. 2+2=4 http://www.twoplustwo.com/ Links, damnit I seriously suggest you quit whatever occupation you're in right now and go straight to the coal mines. That's what everyone would say about you, because honestly they'd feel embarrassed
  3. I didn't realize being satirical meant an essay about me shaming the good name of the major I chose. On an internet forum about a niche video game series. Where we're talking about the questionable archetypal status of a video game character. Watch out math majors, don't ever joke about 2+2 equalling fish! Hell hath rain fire and shame down upon thee if you joke about 2+2 equalling fish
  4. This is a strawman fallacy and you know it. But no, only hipsters smell their own farts, and we need to stop them from from continuing it before they allow the smug to envelop all of western US
  5. Why was the arby's post deleted, it was totally on topic and merited serious discussion. With that said, we now need to debate the semantic definition of "disgusting" before we can continue any beneficial debate.
  6. a) this argument is still for the benefit of Sara, since she doesn't have to worry about fatigue, and b) this still isn't an argument against Physic. If anything, it just means you have much more liberty with physic usage, since staff users are free to do other important stuff when needed (warping, combat, etc). In no way does having S drinks mean you don't need Physic that much (exact wording of your post) I'd personally say that's a bit stretching it, but not completely unreasonable.
  7. Where in the world are you getting relive Also why would you waste a master steal on tina I'm pretty sure Salesmaster is talking about Saphy, Linoan and Salem, and then also Sleuf if you went A route. This line of reasoning doesn't make any sense.
  8. I think the fundamental issue here is that none of us have a same definition of the very philosophical word "good". Before you guys continue on, we need to first accurately define the term "good" and how it relates to Sara and her questionable(?) est status. Now, do we define "good" as in Arby's slogan "it's good mood food" (which is traditionally defined as "shitty food that is only serviceable if you can't find a Wendy's"), or do we define it as compared to "gouda cheese"? This is an extremely vital semantic disccusion necessary for the beneficial contributions of future posts.
  9. since when did you start getting so obsessed with philosophy (let alone constantly attributing it in a forum about a niche video game series) Well, even by that standards Sara isn't really babied, since she doesn't need a high level attention to do well, or promote and do super well.
  10. I'll take fun gameplay intentions over realistic gameplay intentions any day of the week. If your realism makes the game less fun to play (ie implementing that stupid 1 use 1-2 range weapon idea), then you're going backwards imo
  11. It removes any sense of gratification there is for using a jeigan, and basically make them unfun to use (since a) stat downs aren't exactly exciting, and b) they're getting worse as enemy stats are getting better, as compared to enemy stats reaching, then eventually surpassing as usual). Having a unit's stats go down after use is far worse than simply retiring the unit after a set period.
  12. Woah woah since when is Asvel reaching 20/10 so early (granted the stats aren't much different than 20/1 asvel), also build is irrelevant since neither of them are going to be capturing ever and it doesn't affect as I don't think using physic staves is really babying, since you don't really need to slow down for her when she's using it. Also iirc she only needs to use physic like 3/4 times before she can promote.
  13. This is incredibly stupid. I don't have to explain why, do I?
  14. You can easily replicate classic mode under casual mode for all intents and purposes. The "intent of casual/classic" is irrelevant since that's not the issue we're talking about.
  15. ^typical non-female-ltc player argle bargle
  16. bitch you'll only get my respect if you do female-only ltcs, otherwise you're fucking dirt to me
  17. The game would be set up to minimize the random critblicks and whatnot (and if you go into battles not knowing that a certain unit has a killer/effective weapon, it's your own fault if your unit dies because of it). That way, you can't just throw out units willy-nilly with just the thought that you can reset if your magnificent gambit fails. As for why it should be ironman rather than just classic, feel free to read my previous posts which I explain multiple times as to why it should be. We all know that Mia is the most beloved character of all time. Well, a certain someone does.
  18. Silly guy, as we all know the Fe12 portrait is objectively better than the Fe11 one so there cannot logically be any disagreement The fe11 one has a far better facial expression, someone who's determined, focused, and understands loss. Again, contrast that with the kiddy, goofy, inexperienced look of the prologue Marth and it makes for a much better impression storywise. The fe12 face has a much softer expression, one instantly less distinguished than the fe11 one. It portrays Marth as someone slightly more simplistic, relaxed, weaker, and less determined Given his personality (wahhh im so weak thank goodness i have godmu by my side) and relegated role in fe12, that may be what they were going for, but it's still not as stand-out as fe11's portrait. It's like a regression back into kiddy marth from 11. The armor in 12's portrait is much better, though.
  19. Jesus dude do the gba games not exist to you? I've already brought it up and expained several times how it would be perfectly usable. I'm starting to think you haven't been reading my posts at all, because that's not the intention behind my ideas whatsoever. Let me explain it again: The point of permadeath (and content revolving around permadeath and other player choices/actions) is to strengthen the player-character connection Fe has always been going for. By making death permanent, it makes a) the players care much, much more about keeping the units alive, to see their development, their plights, their lives and their actions, resulting them in having to play in a way that doesn't compromise anyone (or anyone they don't want compromised). The game would be set up so there's no bullshit surprises resulting in cheap deaths (see: fe13, 6), so the only way you'd lose units is by your own tactical mistakes. Because is now the primary reason you could lose your characters, you would have no one to blame but yourself for playing poorly. Mia is gone forever because of you. You have to live with it. All the content resulting from a character's death is only there to reinforce and stamp the fact that you killed Mia, not the game. By guilt-riding the player for their mistakes, the player-character connection is far more strengthened than it currently is. It makes the player legitimately care for the pixels in a game. But no, you seem to be hellbent that we're on a crusade against those awful resetters and that they're the bane of our existence or whatever. What the fuck "I don't know that players are resetting for any one particular reason, but I know better than to assume all players will reset and that those who do did so for one reason in particular. Heck, I'm sure there are people who reset because they missed treasure chests and wanted to get them all. Assuming players reset just because they can't bear to loose one unit or just because of personal attachment = stupidity." Maybe I should quit posting, because you're doing a good job arguing against yourself. Also, you're not really connected to a character if all you care about is his combat usefulness. Loving the strawman again. Why do you have this notion that we have resetters? And Anouleth's post was a perfectly reasonable example as to how permadeath can be a positive thing. He's not arguing that wants permadeath because he likes permadeath, he's arguing that, given precedent, it is a very beneficial thing to include. Way to completely ignore my point and go back to technical bullshit which me and Anouleth already explained a million times. Also, you still didn't answer my question. "Want proof? Imagine your most unlikable character in any Fe game ever, someone you absolutely loathe, and that you're training him/her; now imagine him/her dying due to a mistake in combat. Did you restart?" Theoretically it's a fantastic idea that hasn't really been done before, and it was groundbreaking for the NES era, but they literally haven't changed it in 13 games. My ideas are meant to further the mechanic in a relevant way that is meant to advance the original intentions they were going for with the idea.
  20. Personally, I refuse to play FF7 ever again because Cloud is just a bunch of blocks combined to make a deformed mess of what you could consider a person. Does this thing look like a person to you? In all seriousness, I have a sort of fondness for Marth's Fe11 portrait. It's probably the only Marth that doesn't look the slightest bit feminine whatsoever, which, combined with the trademark tiara and the contrast to Marth's early babyface portrait, makes for a much stronger impression on the character.
  21. The similarity between the two, however, is that both group's ancestors did the same thing (broadly speaking), and were basically able to get away with doing it until reform. So while modern KKK members (the ones that don't commit illegal acts) still advocate bringing back the views of the old times, they're no less responsible for past heinous activity than southern nations for their ancestors. We already have a solution for the potentially illegal acts they might do; they're illegal. That doesn't mean we should take away their right to lobby for their views regarding the topic. If we can't apply equal and fair laws to even the people we despise on a personal level, how can we call our nation the land of the free?
  22. Talk about a hypocritical strawman. One, I didn't assume that all players reset for one reason only, I said that a percentage of players most likely reset for reasons other than character connections (loss of a strong unit, chests, village, whatever). Two, you were the one claiming that all people reset because of character connection trumping repetition. "If a player resets a chapter it's because they value the character more than the chapter frustration, WHICH IS A GOOD THING FOR THE GAME!" Also, you didn't answer my question. Wat. PEMN is for shooting down "Nino is awesome because she had awesome stats in my game!" arguments. Since when can we not use our own experiences as reasoning for arguments like this That's nice of you to refute, or hell, explain why doing such a thing would be a horrible idea. How is it dickish? Because you now have serious repercussions for your actions and mistakes? Because the game now gives you accountability for your beloved charaters? Have we as society become so babied that we consider something like that dickish, and MUST be allowed to keep Mia alive 24/7 because I wub Mia?
  23. iirc that's the closest you've come to actually making an apology for misunderstanding, then subsequently patronizing someone. I accept your apology
  24. I bring up recruitment cost because several characters, ones that take a longer time to recruit, are lower than in DD's spots, with Rishel being the only exception. Leteena, Bud, Roger, Narcus and Mintz are all a tier (or more) lower than in DD's. Rishel is literally the only exception, and I'm more than willing to bet that it's due to Sunflame's hype. Sunflame is badass is all, but a) he arrives more than halfway through the game, and b) in a game where we have numerous mounted gods, a 4/5 move indestructible mage isn't nearly as impressive. @Rishel in what parts are he necessary? What can he do that the rest of the mounted folk/invincible swordmen can't? @Roger Zeek eclipses every unit in regards to stats, not just Roger. 8 mov and incredibly solid base stats and skills while being able to somewhat keep up, and joining relatively early is great. Ffs he's behind Holme's route Lee and Alicia, I mean come on. @Billford and Norton both of them suck ass because 3 mov (and just to rub salt in the wound, shitty 2 range) is insane. Life or death doesn't mean shit if a) they can't actually reach anyone (excluding norton's promo) to use it, and b) all the enemies are just ignoring them anyway. Norton's better than Billford imo since he can actually get decent movement, but sword-lock means still no decent 2 range, so it's not like it helps him much anyway. They're both pretty awful. And yet they somehow are better than Garo, Shirou (eh at least he can reach things) and Raquel? @Sasha she is so goddamn awful at the start there's like no point in using her, like wtf @those base stats. Pegasus promotion might be persuasive but then BAM MAHTER ARRIVES INSTANTLY BETTER THAN SASHA IN EVERY WAY. Charisma's nice but in no way does it redeem her awful, awful, awful start. Besides, she's already at the bottom of low in Aquilae's tier list, so it's not like they're terribly far apart in each tier list. Also, admitting that you discredit an entire tier list because of one person's position isn't exactly the best way to persuade someone that it's not credible. Even I can see why Renee is so high (the same reason Safy is in fe5), I just think Narron and Raffin are so overpowered that they're better anyway. Uh, no I wasn't. I wasn't even aware there were other relevant tier lists beside DD's until now. Also, maybe you should actually look at the tier list, because Renee is still at the top in DD's tier list. Seriously, why do you keep going around pulling these ridiculous debating criticisms that don't have to do with anything?
