  1. ^Yeah, I'd have liked a little more detail on his backstory.
  2. He does, thankfully. Most of the Physic staves that need to be stolen are after he promotes.
  3. ^No love for Geo because he's a rubbish unit in PoR and a very average one with little game time in RD.
  4. Boyd suffering from a poor Strength growth and Soren suffering from a poor Magic growth? Both are close to impossible. Now, both characters getting Speed screwed...very real possibilities.
  5. Now that I think about it, IS has been quite racist towards black people ever since introducing black characters into the series. Devdan - Horrid stats and piss-poor growths in both FE9 and FE10. In terms of his character...very little development, but is as retarded as he is amusing. Fiona - Don't need to go into detail on her, this thread already has. But in terms of storyline, she's the leader of the army of Marado and the daughter of one of Daein's original Four Riders, which included Greil/Gawain, who was supposedly invincible at the time, and Bryce, who must have been a decent enough warrior to maintain his post for thirty-odd years.
  6. Yeah, I heard Ike was 17 in PoR. Which leaves the game with approximately zero plausibility. Then again, most fantasy video games seem to play the 'teenage hero' card, so it's nothing out of the ordinary. Also, Anacybele, I'm curious...are you actually capable of ever changing your opinion/belief about anything whatsoever?
  7. ^That's actually incorrect, from my research. Random mode is actually easier because you can just keep resetting for better growths from BExp level ups, normal level ups in the early chapters as they are so short etc. In Fixed mode your characters will turn out great towards the end, but for the majority of the game will be far less powerful as you can't reset for better growths and whatnot, so they level up more slowly.
  8. As playable units...definitely Marcia and Jill. Flying units rock, and both of them turn out to be awesome. Boyd is a runner up, because I love his ability to smash things incredibly hard, as well as his ability to two-shot practically everything in the game with a Silver Axe (if his Speed turned out well enough). As storyline characters...Jill, Soren and Bastian. Jill holds the honour of being a very well developed character with an interested backstory that the game elaborates upon well enough, despite not actually having any real role in the main story. Soren is just cool...as Ike said, his ability to speak plainly of things that others won't is part of what makes him brilliant. Bastian because, despite being practically the worst playable unit in the game, he is a great character.
  9. Nope, once the units have been chosen, they have been chosen. If you want me to use Rolf and Ilyana, beat everyone to it and choose them next time I do one of these things. Anyway, if anyone's interested, here's how my playthrough's been coming along... Chapter 3 - Pretty easy. Used Gatrie and Shinon to kill about two enemies at the start to stop Ike getting ganged up on. Ike soloed the rest. Marcia semi-recruited. Thankfully this isn't Hard mode so I didn't have to rush to get to her. Chapter 4 - Had to use Gatrie extensively in this chapter, mostly to soften up enemies for Soren to kill because Ike's growths have been absolutely uber and he's been two-shotting everything even with an Iron Sword. I hoped to kill the boss with Soren, but Ike could only knock enough of the boss's HP with the Regal Sword, and killed him with a crit. D'oh! Soren ended on level 2. Chapter 5 - No way I was going to solo everything with Ike and Soren. Titania, Gatrie, Shinon and even Boyd in two cases had to be used liberally here. Because the durability of Ike's precious few swords has been depleting badly, I had to storm through the southern wave of enemies with Titania to get the Iron Blade from the Myrmidon next to the boss. Ike killed the boss. Rhys got in a fair few heals, and gained some nice Exp with a good level up in the process. Soren didn't even level up. Practically all of Ike's stats are better than lolShinon's. Most likely going to have to use Titania on chapter 6, hopefully as minimally as possible. Thankfully, Mia joins in Chapter 7 so I can finally use another unit that I'm supposed to be using and just because I've been forced to.
  10. On the MicaiahxSothe thing, if it wasn't canon, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have joined with an automatic A support. I thought everyone would have been aware of this but clearly I was wrong. Even so, please continue this hilarious discussion everyone. It's quite made my day ;)
  11. Personally, I've always thought that both Soren and Ranulf left with Ike on his journey. Soren leaving with Ike makes more sense though so I'd guess that IkeXSoren is the canon pairing if only one is. Eh, whatever, I thought Ike leaving Tellius forever was a less-than-satisfactory epilogue anyway. One of the many reasons that part of me likes to think of the majority of Radiant Dawn as a "what if?" scenario.
  12. Okaaay, here's what's happened so far. Prologue - Lost it the first time on purpose because for some reason I thought losing it meant Ike would get three Iron Swords instead of one in the next chapter. Don't ask. Chapter 1 - Titania had to kill the bandit burning down the houses or I would have missed out on the Seraph Robe. Managed to solo the rest of it with Ike easily enough. Gave him a Seraph Robe as he's going to be flying solo for a few chapters. Chapter 2 - Soloed with Ike. Rhys got in a few heals to help him get Exp. Ike finished the chapter at level 7 with 94 Exp and good growths. Not much.
  13. Actually, Zihark and Mia are pretty similar. Aside from Mia's slightly more reliable Str growth (which, truth be told, still isn't all that great...Mia's too weak to ORKO anything before third tier), they really aren't that different. They actually have very similar base stats (including the same base Str and Def) Mia just has the benefit of being in Ike's team from the start of Part 3, whereas Zihark can only be recruited into it as early as 3-7, by which point Mia will almost certainly be several levels higher if you've been using her. So yeah, using Zihark as your choice Trueblade is completely justified (except in Hard mode where he dies too easily).
  14. Oh, forgot about that. I haven't triggered that scene in ages. For more excellent examples of narm, play (or Youtube cut-scenes of) the original Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil Code: Veronica X (which had worse VA than Resident Evil 3 despite being released two years later). Ike had to be younger. It's unrealistic for him not to remember anything whatsoever about Gallia if he left when he was 11 or 12. And Mist was certainly not 8. I'd estimate Mist was 4, but you can never tell with FE when it comes to dialogue.
  15. Micaiah needs a better Speed growth. Laguz transform metres don't decrease in battle, only after the turn ends, like in PoR. Janaff and Ulki want this especially. That's pretty much it for me.
  16. Eh, I don't have a problem with it, I just can't understand it. I mean...why not write your own stories from your own imagination?
  17. And Marcia takes the last spot. Playthrough to begin tomorrow.
  18. Brom and Janaff added. Next choice will be the last one...make it count!
  19. I already have three healers, so giving him knives ain't a problem :) Largo, Soren, Makalov, Mia added.
