Challenge Name: Mostly Melee Challenge (alternatively, Mostly Magic Challenge) or the Absolute versions Basic Concept Summary: Depending on which version you do, you can only allow your units to use melee weapons (Levin Sword and other "melee" weapons using the Mag. Stat are not allowed) or only Tomes. Staves are excluded if the player wishes. All Tome-only characters must be reclassed to a melee class immediately when able, and vice-versa. Difficulty Setting: Does not matter Number of Continues: Does not matter Resets Allowed: Does not matter. Have at it! Risen Encounters Allowed: If you want. Pair-Up Allowed: Certainly! Characters Allowed: No restrictions on the characters, as long as they can reclass to a melee/mage class and stay there. Support Restrictions: Nope. DLC Allowed: Yes. If you're doing Absolutely Melee/Magic and encounter Tome-only/Melee-only classed characters who cannot be reclassed into the other, however, are excluded. Bonus Box Allowed: Obviously some items cannot be used based on which challenge you're doing, but you are allowed to sell them as Gold fodder if they'd normally break the conditions of the challenge. Event Tiles Allowed: See Bonus Box. Items Allowed: All, except for Energy Drops for Magic and Spirit Dust for Melee (exception to this rule: Staves-users). Miscellaneous Restrictions: For the regular version: Mage/Melee-classed units cannot be used in the story battles, but can be used in Challenges in order to level-collect. (General exception: any unit who would normally break the challenge that comes in during a chapter, but they cannot be used unless they're reclassed. Exception for Mostly Magic: Chrom, due to forced deployment.) If you're level-collecting for units like Miriel and Ricken for reclassing purposes, the moment they reach Level 10, you MUST use a Change Seal on them or otherwise unequip them and prevent them from fighting for the remainder of the battle. Classes such as Tactician or Dark Flyer can be used AS LONG as they're only using the weapons that fulfill the challenge. Ex: Tactician must use Swords for the Melee Challenge, etc. You cannot reclass units into Tomes-only or Melee-only classes. (MeleeChall: Even if they use Staves, you cannot reclass into Sorcerer, Sage, etc. MagicChall: The only exception is if you have Bolt Axes or other Magic stat-using weapons at the ready. If there is none and a unit is in a melee class you must either reclass back into a Tome-user, or bench that unit until you get more.) Manaketes and Taguels fall under the Melee category since they (from what I recall on Manaketes; feel free to correct me on this) use the Strength stat, therefore are usable in Mostly Melee and are unusable in Mostly Magic. For the Absolute versions: Mage/Melee-classed units cannot be used in ANY battle, including Challenges and DLC (NPCs that break the challenge due to class and weapon choice do not count, and you're free to go into the Paralogue or Xenologue/Outrealm Tale they help you in. Also, see exceptions for regular version above), unless they can immediately be reclassed before the next fight begins. Though I wonder if, for the others that haven't gone that in-depth, I should just draw them based on the little tidbits others posted? Hmm.

New confession: I accidentally overwrote my FemAvaMoo Confession Run file while S supported with Yen'fay. I wanted to give up, then decided to try a speedrun. I clocked in at Endgame's start at 6:31:05. I have -never- gone through a game that fast.

My lame confessions are lame, and I thought up of a whole batch. I'll spoiler-group 'em to be safe and prevent people from getting angry at me, since it looks like a longer post than the others. [spoiler=I Feel Like I'm Ranting or Something]Despite the Japanese voice track, I still couldn't go through with marrying Libra in the initial playthrough. I chose Gerome "Wright" "Nightwing" Lon'qusson instead. I wish NOA kept God in, and centered that around said War Monk like in the Japanese version, or-so-I've-seen. Christian gamers need more love here. Though I still do the "mental replacement"... I hate Walhart's guts. Or maybe how they localized him? He came across as a secular humanist to me. Still hate Tharja, still hate Severa, like Bokkuko!Sully better, and wonder why the frip people like Henry so much. First Fire Emblem game without using any Tomes for 99.7% of 3/4 playthroughs. I didn't regret it. This is my first actual Fire Emblem game (I played FE7 and 8 on an emulator before I had a job). I love the Bride class. Old Hubba [read: localization] annoys me and makes me want to throw a Hand Axe at him. I was close to crying during A Hard Miracle. I like Male Morgan better, because Alan Walker VA. I sometimes refer to this game as Resident Emblem. I can't listen to Inigo's English confession without picturing Baldren Gassenarl saying it. "Monstrosity" is my favorite boss music, "Chaos/(Ablaze)" my favorite field~regular!battle music. I level-and-Support-collect in Origin Peak because I have time constraints. I was glad to hear many veteran VAs were hired to do the voices. I think Sumia's pretty cool; ditto for Cordelia. I was sad to see the latter couldn't even friendship support with Chrom. "Minervykins" and "such a cutey-poo!" made me want to hug Gerome. I even laughed at the Lon'qu-Gerome support convos. Libra/Tharja ticked me off, because I just don't see it. It doesn't make much sense to me, even with the in-character stuff. Pega-Pony Princess is no longer alone. :D I'm starting to warm up to Priam (pre-Spotpass chapter), Gaius, Kellam, and Stahl, in the "marry X character" sense. I see Nowi being paired as bad no matter how it's done (Appearance and age-wise), but I also find young!Female Avatar and Walhart just as, if not more, disturbing. I also thought of Gregor as the Heavy, with Virion as Edgeworth and Gerome Lon'qusson as Phoenix Wright. I was almost going to do a little mini-crossover comic with Phoenix Wright and FE13. I'm thinking about doing a final Female AvaMoo playthrough, Japanese voices, marrying Libra. Feels stupid not marrying a character because of a company's policy. I thought about doing a playthrough with marriages based off one Old Hubba "reading run", but decided against it. For ten minutes, I considered being a jerk and spoil Lucina, the children, or even THE SPOTTIES to the unfortunate people who StreetPasses me and has the game (which is, what, two, three people in my city?). Decided I wasn't that cruel. I always type "MU" as "Moo". Because humor. Every day, I feel like I'm four parts Sumia, one part Japanese!Libra, one part Nah, and a teeny part Gerome. To elaborate: klutzy, apologizes, brown curly hair, and low self-esteem (Sumia); devotion towards God (J!Libra); mature for my age (Nah), which led to an awkward conversation; avoidance of others (Gerome), but because of self-esteem issues and klutziness. Slowly getting out of the last part. Hoo boy, I really need to get home. Time flies.

I Take a Third Option and go with "AvaMoo", but that option doesn't exist in the poll.

The website has a new remastered version of The Green Green Woodlands as its music as of today. It's not the same as the old PC88-quality of the song, but it has a charm all on its own. I, for one, like it. It looks like I'll have to hold on to my 3DS a little bit longer. I'll be more than happy if this game gets localized. :3

Allow me to say that I'm with Shadow on this one. I like the Japanese version of him better. Yet for some reason, TV Tropes says that he's WORSE in this one than the English version. Now that I've seen the comparison video, I call LOC on that.

Yet they censor numbers, which no one expects at all... What. I'm now thinking of renaming a sword to "EOIV!Falchion", if I have the room for it. Or any Etrian Odyssey weapon. Shinryuu Sword without the tears?

I just noticed that the latest SpotPass character's death quote wasn't added. Should I just put it in here so someone can add it, or...?

I was going to make weapons with numbers in their name, but I found that numerals are offensive as well, for some dumb reason. Usually, I personalize the weapons depending on the unit I'm level-collecting, like "Krom no Sordo", or "Hedy's Axe". Other times, I do names that have a biblical theme, such as "JHVH T'sur", "JHVH Rapha", "God's Word"... One exception, however: [spoiler=SpotPass Character-related]Emm's weapons are named "McKay's ____", a mini-reference to a Stargate Atlantis episode, "The Shrine", where McKay gets the Second Childhood and temporarily goes through a process similar to Alzheimer's. Watching the episode reminded me of Emm, and the rest is history.

Nooooo, not the processing phase! D: Joking. I can wait. I've waited to get the game, I'm waiting for Etrian Odyssey IV... Patience is a virtue, after all. Speaking of EOIV, here's a suggestion for a game, shadow. Can't wait to see it. Thanks for being devoted to this, shadow, despite college and whatever other things.

Kellam!Nah!Morgan. Because Morgan can be a Manakete tank. General Tanking is sweet. :3 Won't Morgan be a bit more balanced, though, depending on the Avatar's build?
