  1. I guess it's time to rant about myself~ I'm fond of any kind of art, both written and drawn. I'm a sucker for romance (though no Twilight please kthnxbai), and, really, just anything pretty in general. I guess I like things that portray emotions, both in stories and art. I can (relative term, just because I can doesn't mean I'm good at it)... >draw (just don't expect some beautiful grand gorgeous work of computer art from me, seeing that I lack the time/patience/skill.) >write (I haven't actually written anything recently, and I lose motivation/inspiration constantly, so it's a rather risky move...) >sprite (I'm definitely not the best. 'Nuff said) >compose/arrange (not good arrangements, mind you, seeing that I only have finale notepad ._.) >gfx (to tell the truth, I don't know why I'm putting this down. I'm so bad at this) I'm only able to stay in one fandom at once, so, as of the moment, I'm really only interested in Fire Emblem. Specifically FE4, though it's not as if I don't like the other ones or something. I know at least a little about all of them, and though I have played a bit of Gaiden, I'm sorry to say I don't know the exact storyline. Not so hot on 1/3/11, either, but I'm pretty sure I have all the others down. I'm /extremely/ touchy when it comes to pairings (and not proud of it). Though I tolerate shounen-ai, I ask that you be at least somewhat serious when coming up with pairings. I treat shounen-ai like I treat het, and expect the same amount of... quality, I guess? D: goodness gracious, I'm so stuck-up I play for the characters and the storyline, /not/ the stats/ranks/whatnot. When I support, I support for the conversations. It should tell you what kind of player I am ._. [end rant] EDIT: Wow, all that and I forget the most important part. My favorite characters of all time (one from each continent) would be Katua, Celice, Percival, Lute, and Kurthnaga.
  2. Hm. I'd like to be a part of this. Let's just hope procrastination doesn't strike.
  3. Let's see... what to write? Well, I'm relatively new to FE spriting (I started mid June), but I did have a few years of experience with other styles before that. The two things you'll quickly notice about my sprites are that they are very custom (a fact I'm not entirely proud of, but has a lot to do with my absolute failure at splicing), and that I'm very, /very/ bad when it comes to variety. You'll see what I mean. Most recent sprites first. Vika, Tiltyu, Leen, Sylvia, and my OC archer Lucy, in that order. I was told that Sylvia didn't look like she had the proper expression, and I attempted to change it. I'm not sure whether she looks deranged or not. My sole battle sprite as of yet, and an older version of Fa(e). A map sprite for my dancer OC. Other frames still in progress. Older stuff will be linked: Tama [mage] Lucy [old version] Niamh [troubadour] Dindraine [dancer] Lynelle [peg knight] Sheeda Fury Fury [full body] Nova [yes. the crusader] Generic Villager Girl #25
  4. Hmm... substance? The first one: She doesn't have a middle smiling frame, though that isn't really an error in the spriting. She also has a random pixel on her chin in the frames where she isn't speaking. That segment of her hair under her ear has random pixels of the darkest shading color sticking out into the middle color. The lightest shade also connects with the darkest shade, making the shading look inconsistent. The back of the hair's shading goes straight up and down, while the actual hair curves inwards. The shading should flow with the hair instead of against it. The reflection on her armor is rather bright, though I'm aware that Amelia's armor does have that exact shading. The hair sticking out from under the right side of her face (our left) doesn't look quite connected to the rest. It feels like a pixel should be added on top of that top chunk to connect it to her face. The second one: This sprite shows that sometimes, simple really /is/ better. The only things I see is that there's a stray pixel of the lightest skin tone that isn't quite connected to the rest on his right shoulder pad, and the back of his neck doesn't have much shading. However, seeing that Kent is exactly like that, this point might not be valid. The third one: Her right eyebrow is very dark and straight, especially in comparison to the other one. That bit of hair on her right side sticking straight down looks stiff and solid, though that may have been your intention. The bit of hair going over her left shoulder pad looks very stiff as well, and the way it's shaded makes it look almost like gelatin. It doesn't fall on top of her armor like it should, resulting in the stiffness. That last one (epic names, much? ._.): I can't say I like the colors, but feel free to ignore that. I just have something against bright red and blue together. His shirt has bits of red pixels in it where the darkest shade of blue should be, and on that last blinking frame, there are still pixels of white under his eyes. (Actually, on second thought, those two girls could have their blinking frames fixed up as well. A few darker pixels going up on the edges of their eyes to suggest eyelids would be nice. L'Arachel's a good ref if you need one). Finally, you get virtual cookies for de-creepifying Lance's eyes and splicing /well/ with Zeiss's hair. Now it's time for my generic encouragement message. Good luck with spritin' and all that ;D
  5. First, just a pet peeve of mine: The outline color should be the darkest on the sprite. I advise you switch outline colors to FE8 for more hue allowance (or even a darker custom color if you really like your dark colors that much). Ino: She's much too small and skinny, and shading in her hair is few and randomly placed. Her eyes are rather rectangular, and her iris (colored part) takes up almost all of her screla (white part). There's also no shading in them at all, either. That fold in her collar has no anti-aliasing whatsoever, and it's pillowed to boot. The shades have to reflect the placement of the light source instead of cluster all around the edges. Shikamaru: His right eyebrow is much too short, and his ponytail looks flat. His hair also has color issues. I do rather like this one, though. Gaara: His hair has a bunch of shading around the edges, but none on the actual inside. I haven't seen Naruto since forever, but I'm pretty sure that his eyes aren't slits. He also doesn't have enough mascara outline around his eyes. That white cloth needs more shading around the fold and away from the light source. Also, the way his clothing is shaded makes him look flat. Soren: First off, kudos to you for not failing in the art of full-customing, unlike some people I know whose usernames start with an "M" and end with an "A". The lighter part of his cape looks twisted, and the darker part looks flat. His irises take up too much of his eyes, and it appears that there's a different outline color in the hair than the one used for most of it. The white band around his hair looks really... misplaced. I'm not actually sure what it's supposed to be. His eyebrows are also really dark, and his nose is really light. Well, I hope that helped, and good luck with all your future spriting endeavors~ -gets shot for all the big words-
  6. Well, I must commend you for having the patience to not give up after drawing the first person in the first panel of your comics xD I actually lol'd at quite a few of 'em, and your art's pretty. I love your coloring.
  7. "Low self confidence?" xD I wish. Then maybe I wouldn't be so obnoxious all the time. And burning_phoneix? The intarnets is a very frightening place, as I'm sure you already know.
  8. I can't say I'm an expert when it comes to this whole gfx thing, but what I can see looks pretty awesome. I really love your use of color.
  9. xD Thanks for all the happy birthdays~ Nah, just my attempt at making myself seem more mature ;) Or maybe I could just post a picture of myself and end it all. But I won't. I have been known for making the wrong choice countless times :O

    Yuli's Sprites.

Well, pillow shading usually occurs when there's the same amount of shading on all edges of the sprite, making it look... well, pillowed x_X To fix it, you'd take some of the shading away towards the light source (upper left, for reference) and add more away from it (bottom right). Necks are difficult to shade (at least for me), but my advice would be to fill in that section above the collar with the second lightest shade of skin tone and add a tiny bit of shading under the chin and where the hair touches the neck. It's also extremely dark where her armpit is, though I'm not sure whether that was intentional or not.
  11. No, I'm not from FESS. I joined the FE fandom a bit too late for that, and I was never too good at spontaneously joining forums. What I am is sadly one of those things that can drive communities over the edge of a cliff, but, hey, I can't make myself age faster or anything. In case you haven't guessed by now, I'm one of those thirteen-year-olds (fourteen tomorrow, actually) that think they can hang out with the adults and look cool, but fail miserably ;) Also, on another note, I'm a spriter/artist. I used to write, but I just don't find the motivation nowadays (my failure at commanding the English language adds to said lack of motivation). But that's enough rambling. Nice to meet you all~
