  1. So the Cipher twitter updated, showing off the Marth and Lucina cards we say this weekend. I'd post a picture, but SF isn't letting me atm. As expected, they are both HN rarity, but what struck me as odd was Marth's set number (and Lucina's to perhaps a lesser extent). It's hard to make out, but it looks to me like he's set number is 19, while Lucina's is 64. Since the #FE cards are listed first (as the new factions tend to be, as seen with series 3), it looks like the #FE cards are gonna be way less than the half set that some might have speculated they would have gotten.
  2. Wow, we really are getting another Fates expansion. That's rather disappointing for me... But I won't complain about FE4 cards!
  3. I wouldn't be surprised if we got a deck for Micaiah and the new characters in FE10, but at the same time I could easily see us not getting one since green/Tellius already has a structure deck with Ike. It seems they really just want to give each color/faction one starter deck for now. In terms of SRs, assuming it's the usual 6-6 split, here are my guesses: FE10: Micaiah, Sothe, Ike (Vanguard), Kurthnaga, Sanaki, Zelgius or Sephiran FE6: Roy, Lilina, Zephiel, Guinivere, Fa, and... Sophia? Rutger? Aside from Roy and Lilina, the SR's for this one are kinda hard to figure out imo.
  4. I'm down. I'm missing three (well, seven) R+/SR+ cards that are real cheap here. But I didn't know amenity shipped to the US... unless, do you have a contact or something in Japan?
  5. FE4 Like: Story, lore Dislike: Map sizes, trading FE6 Like: Zephiel's story, difficulty Dislike: Roy's stats and late promotion FE7 Like: Story, Hector's entirety, character depth Dislike: Lack of unit variety (one merc, one myrmidon, and one shaman all really sucked), how Eliwood was meant to be worse than Lyn and Hector growth rate wise FE8 Like: Ephraim, story, split journey actually resulting in different dialogue, branch promotions Dislike: Lack of difficulty, short story FE9 Like: Quite possibly everything, to be honest. Ike especially. Dislike: I guess in-battle graphics could have been better... FE10 Like: Exploring new themes that the series hasn't covered, animations, best gameplay imo, difficulty Dislike: Underdeveloped supports, lack of multiple endings for characters, Ranulf's awful revealing of large plot points, broken mastery skills, Ike leaving. FE11 Like: Difficulty, simplicity done well. Dislike: Animations, Marth's awful portrait, huge amount of undeveloped characters FE12 Like: Difficulty by a long shot, updated portraits for some, story, Hardin, adding more character depth (even if it was through Kris) Dislike: Kris stealing the spotlight from Marth at points. FE13 Like: Well, the music was good... Dislike: Story, writing, shallow tropey characters, lack of development and depth to most every character outside of the second generation, easy difficulty or outright luck based difficulty, broken skill set ups, setting the trend for what I never wanted to see in FE (marriage being the focal point, avatars playing an even bigger role, "otaku pandering" elements that we see in FE14..., etc.) *EDIT* Oops, forgot this was suppose to just be one thing we like and one thing we dislike... my bad!
  6. Never once in my 21 years of life have I ever improved any sort of relationship, platonic or romantic, strictly by rubbing people's faces. But who knows, maybe I'm just meeting all the wrong people...
  7. That is fair, and no, it isn't an insane concept. For you perhaps, your own desires for what should or shouldn't be in FE do not outweigh what is already included. Given that, I don't think you'd be included in that "some" of people I mentioned. Saying that everyone needs feel the way you do though? Now that is what I'd consider an insane concept. Yes yes, we all know that is was optional. People being forced into petting their soldiers was never the fear or complaint. The issue some people had with this was that it was out of place, fucking creepy, and sending the series down an entirely different direction that many did not like simply because of it's presence in the game. And despite the fact that it was optional, it was also strictly beneficial for the player to do it (i.e. support building). That means the player is having a hindered gameplay experience if they choose not to partake in it. And on top of that, apparently some good character and world building was exclusive to this as well (or so I hear). See what I'm getting at? Even if skinship was optional, players of this game would lose out on a good amount of benefits because they don't want to rub their units like they're pets and hear them say lewd things. That right there is, in my opinion, flat out wrong. So no, people that didn't want it in would also lose out. Now, if said gameplay benefits linked to skinship are also removed for western releases, then everybody loses out, and everybody would likely be as mad as you.
  8. Some people never wanted it in in the first place. Are you saying that the people who were disappointed in it's inclusion to begin with should be furious that they actually got what they wanted? Look, I get it; localization can be a bad process. Especially when it deals with censorship and content editing/removal. But when what was removed was a stain on a series in the eyes of some (and even in the eyes of some of the developers, it seems), I think those people have every right to be happy. Just as you have the right to loathe NoA for their decision...
  9. Damn, I'm really like all this art, especially that Hardin. It always struck me as a little odd that he was the only character like, ever, that was arabic in design. Really set him apart from the rest of the cast in a good way. But this makes me wonder; if this is paladin Hardin, will emperor Hardin be excluded for this set?
  10. Shame about the signings being so limited in both item selection and number... Ah well, my dreams of an Ike image signed by Senri Kita are dead lol.
  11. Oh wow, given the restrictions on each purchase, this is an unbelievably good result! Thank you so much Kyokko!

  13. I absolutely detest the fact that this is true. It's really disgusting to me that this series has embarked down that path to gain popularity... but I guess we can't do much about that. That's why I don't think there's a "winner" to this skinship removal thing. The people that wanted it in certainly lost, and the people that didn't still have to deal with the fact this is is very much a real part of FE now, even if it is gone from the western release.
  14. In regards to that tumblr post... well, I'm surprised. I thought that original post was from GameFAQs was just a hoax, but it's looking to be a bit more real now... Given all the evidence suggesting that the petting simulated has been removed or at least modified, I hope we can all finally admit that skinshipping is gone.
  15. It does look real, but it is easy for people to make very real looking hoaxes. Especially when there's no repercussions when doing it, like if some random GameFAQs poster is the one making it.
  16. What's the source to this? As much as I believe skinship is either out or changed, something as concrete as this needs a source to be taken seriously.
  17. True, but I do sincerely doubt Grayson is actually lying. I know Kotaku has an awful rep, but it would be insane for a journalist to perpetuate this so much by providing as much detail as he has just to satisfy some ransoms on Twitter if it were all a blatant lie.If what he says turns out to be wrong, I'd wager that is was due to a miscommunication rather than Grayson intentionally reporting a lie.
  18. That's not true. Grayson has said in other tweets related to that one the he has asked him something on the lines of "has the touchscreen based face petting been removed", and that the email from Golin was in reference to Nintendo's statement about that question (i.e. The original quote in the article).
  19. My apologies, I didn't mean for that line to be direct at your logic, although I can easily see how one could take it as such. I'll try to be more clear in the future. I did read you post thoroughly, and if you feel I did a shoddy job addressing your logic, that may be because I was trying to address your logic from Kotaku's perspective. My criticism for those reasons were more so my opinion on why from Kotaku's standpoint, it wouldn't be smart to use them for their own sake. Your thinking of those being potential reasons for what's occurring does make sense; after all, there's not much else that could explain it, should the initial report be a blatant lie on their end. Oh yeah, and this all was under the assumption that Grayson went in on this report knowing it was baseless, and all fabricated. In response to your new thoughts... I agree. Although, I feel the only people who would cancel preorders are those who would want skinshipping to be in, given how adamant purists can be about their expectations for games that receive localization. I imagine those who don't want it (myself to a large extent) would still buy the game, but just choose to neglect that content while playing, and maybe complain more about it afterward. Additionally, I'd also imagine people who preordered this game knowing about and being against skinshipping wouldn't bank on the chance of it being removed. Of course, this doesn't speak for the casual fans who may not know about the feature, and my line of thinking may not be Nintendo's at all... I know I rambled there, but I agree that being silent all together probably is the safest bet. As for Kotaku's follow up to this... well, I truly believe Grayson thinks his report is accurate, especially considering how far he went to prove himself to random people on twitter. And since nothing else is being said about it from Nintendo or someone else with the game (likely for the business related reasons you mentioned), I don't think they could retract or try to apologize for their report at this point even if they wanted to.
  20. Now I won't go around pretending like I know much about Kotaku's ethics or motives; I avoided all that Gamergate nonsense for a reason, but to me anybody with a sliver of intellect would know those are all terribly shitty reasons to push a blatant lie this far. The first reason would clearly create much more damage, rather than fix it. If this really were a false report, doctoring an email would only add to the eruption of problems that would eventually come out once they were proven wrong. If the guy lied and they were trying to cover it up, why wouldn't they just say "Oops sorry, we misunderstood what was said" immediately? The second reason is the most logical of what was listed... but that's not saying much. While clearly Kotaku and this journalist would be viciously thrown under the bus and suffer greatly from it, I suppose Nintendo might benefit from this controversy financially perhaps, but there's also a great chance that they too would see repercussions. Their strategy of staying completely silent while this "lie" is spread could get fans upset at them too, since they could have quelled their fears a long time ago. If anything, the silence from Nintendo seems to be indicating that what Kotaku says is true, at least to me. I won't give my thoughts on the last reason because... well, I can't. I'm having great trouble thinking of any other logical reason for a journalist to lie, then perpetuate their lie further by forging emails. But you are right: Kotaku being the only ones reporting on this does put them in deep. Grayson said on twitter how he asked the question, and why he's the only one reporting it, so all the truth is out from him. I believe it, since it aligns with a lot of what we are(n't) seeing from those with copies and from Nintendo themselves. At the same time, I could also see how this could be a miscommunication between Nintendo's PR and Grayson. Who knows. ...but if it is out, well, I have one less reason to be mad about Fates and embarrassed about being a fan of FE :P
  21. Dear lord... between those still in denial about skinship being out/edited and those quarreling with each other about why waifu and husbando petting is good or bad in the first place, I'm a little embarrassed to say I'm a Fire Emblem fan. Either way, you guys just gotta drop the salt. At this point, why would Kotaku or this journalist go this far to fake a report if it is truly baseless? Like the journalist said himself, there would be nothing to gain and everything to lose. In any case, I'm personally fine with all of this. If the petting is gone, then cool, Fire Emblem hasn't sunk to new depths in the west at least (in my eyes). If the journalist is lying, Nintendo's PR lied to him, there was a miscommunication, a misunderstanding of information, or whatever other conspiracy theory is out their regarding this, then cool, now the whole world can see firsthand this cringeworthy mini-game and potentially mock us for what this series devolved into. Either way, some amount of FE/Fates fans are gonna lose no matter what.
  22. Forgot to mention, but I received my stuff in perfect condition today... I would have gotten it Monday, but I was unable to sign for the package then :P Either way, very good service. Thanks again Lu!
  23. Path of Radiance is my favorite FE game, and probably my favorite games of all time after Pokemon G/S/C, and Radiant Dawn is also in my top 3 favorite FE games. That being said, not only do I doubt they'll go back to Tellius, I also don't want them to. It's story is all wrapped up, no loose ends (or at the very least, any that would warrant another game), and all it's issues have been resolved.
