  1. Both of these are a result of hackers who have 32 move. I can go into detail if you want, but I've done a lot of experimenting on wifi, and found that to be the cause. I can also tell you how to defeat both these kinds of hackers relatively trivially.
  2. It's better to open the door: -warp costs a unit (sage) and ultimately you can only warp 4/5 units over until you need to open the door anyway. -going around takes longer than going through the door, and leave you vulnerable to getting stuck in a choke point. -the turn you open the door costs 1 unit, that you can't attack with. So it's usually advisable to open the door as soon as possible. Of course, there are exceptions to this, but generally it holds true.
  3. That's not how I remember it. . . I lost, but I killed at least 2 of your units. As for clock abuse, people shouldn't use it on with anyone. You can't see the training method, so you look like a hacker. I only have one RNG abused team (not clock abused), but even this one I never use on with anyone. With friends, IMO, anything is fair game. But you'd gain nothing by using clock abuse against non-clock abuse in a friend battle, if there was a significant stat lead. (basically abuse vs abuse is fine, IMO)
  4. Personally, I disagree with some of the above comments. Pure waters are more useful than vulneraries. Vulneraries only heal menial health, fortify is much better. In situations where your sage is dead, it's usually better to attack with weak units, than to use up a turn and heal with them. Resistance boosts are much better, especially considering your units have low res. The only unit I would suggest offloading the pure waters would be your sniper. Parthia has more durability than pure waters. Levin swords are weak, and shouldn't be used unless someone has massively abused mag and str. Without max mag, the counterattack damage is negligible at best.
  5. WEP is insecure as hell =/ There is usually a setting on the router to use WEP or WPA encryption, the DS only works with WEP. Unfortunately though, WEP encryption has been broken, so it's fairly useless as a security measure. What I do, is I have WEP, but I filter devices on an access list, so even if WEP is broken, it's hard for people to access the router. But I'd suggest not listening to me unless what I've said makes a deal of sense, because it can be reasonably difficult to set op if you don't know what your doing.
  6. As for swarm, you can't say, find an enemy with a dropable item (e.g. Vulnerary), make them use up the Vulnerary, then make them drop Swarm? I know a few enemies with swarm early on had dropable items, (specifically a mission with two magic users, one had a key the other a Vulnerary, but i'm not sure if the Vulnerary guy had swarm as their weapon). I'm also not sure if making them use up a dropable item will make them drop the next item in their inventory. I *think* this worked in previous games, but again I could be mistaken.
  7. All of them? That's cool. That means you can get them much more easily than in SD.
  8. Just wondering where you got the brave weapons from? Are they got in single player, or have they been in the online shop? I won't be playing it on wifi until the english version comes out though.
  9. Am I allowed to double post? I'm probably not, but I thought this was important to WiFi: Brave weapons are not on sale on weekends. Also, swordslayer is buyable through the shop.
  10. seems to depend on the opponents RES then Unless I've done something wrong: tome: 8, magic: 30, weapon rank: 2 (from shadow dragon) 40 attack 20 def brv. sword: 17, str:24, weapon rank: 3 44 attack 23 res 44-20 * 2 = 48 damage in first 2 hits. Sage is left on 12. 40-23 = 17 sage is left on 29 another 48 damage, kills it. yep, can't be saved if the swordmaster has 4 or more res.
  11. As was mentioned on gameFAQ's board, Nosferatu could see a lot of use. It can stop sages being killed 1-1, by sapping HP in the middle of 4x brave attacks.
  12. Ahh cool. But that means you can go past ch 14 without loosing the items. One way seems like you could skimp on an items like Aries that isn't so great. Or if it works, killing a unit who holds all the boosts.
  13. So what happens if your missing 1 item? you don't get the star shpere? Can you get the star sphere but not the light sphere? Also what happens to units with a sphere that dies? These kind of things impact wifi quite a lot. I might have to di some tearing later on (much later, lol)
  14. Scorpio. Sorry I'm on my iPhone it's hard to look up things quickly. I don't know if Scorpio is needed to make the starsphere. Or if there is way to keep it.
  15. Here are my two biggest concerns: 1 hackers. 4 starspheres is unbeatable for legit teams. 2 speed boosting items Imagine getting the 2 speed increase then 2 more from starsphere. That is 4 speed. With trading you can double all if the opponents units, aside from maybe 1 or 2 who have boosts on their team. You have the potential to kill 4/5 of the units in 1 turn even if they have max stats. Some might need to check. Perhaps get the 2 speed item. Kill that unit on ch 14 and get the starsphere. Then see if the 2 speed item comes back in ch 15. I haven't tried this, but I prey it can't be done.
  16. Two things I'm sure will see a lot of use: -Trading stat boosting items -Rescue staff An example of a tactic: 3 sages, flying unit with boots, berserker Move flying unit, scout, warp in berserker, rescue flying unit, rescue berserker. Of course that depends on how many rescue staves you can get as to how effective it'll be. 5 durability with trading won't last long. But on the flip side, it seems hammerne can be used on staves this time round. Additionally, anyone know if Meteor or Swarm are obtainable/forgable? If they are, this tactic becomes much more potent. EDIT: I also started to write up a guide for this game, in addition to my SD one. Right now there isn't much in it that hasn't been discussed in this tpoic already, but I'll add to it once more info becomes available. http://zoidscore.vlexo.net/ EDIT EDIT: Horseman Traingle attack + dancing(again staff) may be potent. Not sure how reliable it'll be though.
  17. The new arena makes abuse so easy, you hardly need the boosts (For example, you can RNG abuse without even having to turning the game off). You get the boots in the mission with the arena, and those are the most important item. Unless there is a way to get more than 1 boots, you shouldn't need the secret shop.
  18. As for using Marth, I'd have to know more about cards to say for sure. Looking at evade, you can get something like +40 from supports, swordmasters get +10 and then weapon triangle has a play for another +10. It could make axe users almost unuseable, even with forged hit rate. Although it wouldn't help against lance users, it wouldn't hurt any, since all lance users have a lower speed cap. For an axe user, it looks like they'll be left with maybe 70% hit rate on a fully forged weapon. Which is low considering braves hit twice. The thing is, with the boosting items, I think they are lost on chapter 14. I believe there is only 1 arena before that, making it nigh on impossible to forge great weapons for everyone and keep the items. (Arena is in chapter 9, giving 4 missions to forge in after abusing for money) Although I could be mistaken here, I don't know if there is an arena before that, or if the forging restriction is the same as shadow dragon. I think funds matter here, more so than the items. Unless there is a way to keep the items past mission 14.
  19. Sure, they'd be more useful, but I doubt they would be great. Let's look at the possibilities: -lack of range weapons (not sure) -27 comes at a cost to strength (40 str, which is less than 20 damage to most units.) -speed is too low to double, resulting in very limited attack option. -24 speed has better attacking options, but can still be doubled by berserkers. -dancing or trading to swap out a stone comes at the cost of needing the manakete to attack first (ie, it can't be the last unit to move.) making it difficult to follow up chip damage with a manakete. -6 move is very low, 8 is not much better That seems like too many limitations to be better than standard units with braves.
  20. Not sure. It'll say "30+1" or something, so I don't see why it would be ignored. Dancer is a bit iffy. Because it takes a unit to be the dancer, it's possible to just have 2 units and not use the dancer. I don't really see the dancer being that useful in wifi. Basically yep. But abuse is so easy (you don't even need to turn off the game) you can make a good wifi team in no time at all.
  21. At a glance, it looks like WiFi uses the same 6 maps as in shadow dragon. Edit also, there are stat boosting items which can increase stats above their maximum caps. I think these will see a lot of use on wifi. (e.g. 27 speed falco, 29 speed berserker, 31 speed swordmaster. And that's just +1 I think you can go +2 or higher depending on the item availability.)
  22. I'm up for it, but I doubt I'll be able to find the time.
  23. w00t. Just played my 4000'th. Was against someone with DS name Nathan, Team name: MARTH's Men. They at least had forged brave weapons, but I beat them. I was using my Sylvan team from way back when. It's good to see my first every competitive team still brings in the wins.
  24. If I can muster up a team to compete in this, I may do so. At this point in time, I don't have a team that fits the rules, so I'd have to delete one of my current ones to enter.
  25. There are no official tournament rules. Mostly, they attempt to prohibit hacking and unfair map abuse. Usually (from a team perspective) there are two types: -max stats, forged brave weapons -average stats, no forged weapons
