  1. Bio: Knoll is a shaman and a royal mage from Grado on the continent of Magvel. He and Prince Lyon worked together to learn about the dark stone and utilize its power. When their King Vigarde dies Lyon is quickly depressed and relied on the dark stone to revive his father despite Lyon soon becoming possessed by The Demon King. Knoll is shown to have regretted what has happened to Prince Lyon. Once these events are behind him Knoll admits that he has lost what has happened already to him: Grado, Lyon, and the research of the dark stone but he tries to find a new path and a new way of life to follow. (had to leave so I'm fixing this one ltr) Summary: Knoll is first seen after Ephraim's army kills Vigarde in the Grado Keep. Ephraim finds him in a prison cell and discovered Knoll was planned to be executed later on for challenging Lyon's actions while Lyon was possessed by The Demon King. Knoll confesses the secret about the dark stone, Lyon, and the Demon King to Ephraim. Ephraim is soon informed that Eirika and Jehanna are under an assault. Ephraim, his army, and Knoll rush to Jehanna to support Eirika. Knoll remains with Ephraim and Eirika to fight the Grado army and eventually, The Demon King himself. After Jehanna is protected against the assault from Grado, Ephraim shares his story Knoll told him. Knoll’s role in the story dies down afterwards and remains as a playable unit in for the rest of the game. In the epilogue Knoll focuses on the reconstruction of Grado in order to restore it to its former glory: The glory that Lyon wanted before we was possessed by the Demon King. After Grado is restored, Knoll disappears, never to be seen again. Through his support conversations Knoll has shown that he regrets everything that he had done in the past. He confesses to former Grado general, Duessel, that he sometimes felt that it would have been better had he been executed back in the Grado Keep. He also confesses to Natasha that he felt that he was responsible for the tragedy of what had happened to Lyon and, consequently, the surge of demons that have appeared in Magvel. Knoll had also witnessed a glimpse future of Grado after the War of the Stones with Lyon before the war. Five and a half years later Grado is the victim of an earthquake which leaves the country in ruins and only a few survive. Knoll wants to flee to a safer location, such as Renais, with Natasha but Natasha's will to help the survivors causes Knoll to have a change in heart and decides to stay in Grado and help Natasha support the survivors when they will need their support.* *=New attempt at the ending a little bit long though but I think this is a better ending then the last one I'm going to look into the bio later today. Otherwise its mostly the same as the advice which I mostly agree on one I ignored for the Earthquake paragraph was the "ruins and few survivors" did you mean "Five and a half years later Grado is the victim of an earthquake which leaves the country in ruins and only a few survive." since the first example sounds off in my opinion.
  2. I leave for 10 minutes and another person contributes to the debate questioning Harold. Anyway I think what hes saying is Ewan can't catch up to knoll but knoll finds time to promote with less chapters with mainly physical enemies that could kill either of them in a heartbeat with 0% stat booster Rng tower or arena abuse (which knoll can't get and Ewan can only get for a trainee class in Ephriams route) and still somehow promote to a summoner and kick ass. On a seperate note I have once promoted Ewan to summoner by the end of the desert chapter with no arena/tower abuse. It was a pain though but all my other units were promoted already and they wouldn't benefit much from underleveled first tier units. So Ewan could easily hit 10/10 before Knoll
  3. 1-9 Waste of time and no items too worthwhile to pick up if you can find them without getting killed by Jarod's cowards. Also they didn't give you the one chance you had to have Micaiah thani Alder. Jarod doesn't even move you could have the BK in the NW and Micaiah 2 squares away form Jarod and kill him with Micaiah for easy weapon xp.
  4. (response to the Knoll-god comment) all I do is arena/tower abuse and stick with what I get. If Ross reaches 10/20/20 with 20/strength and 10 speed I say "wtf" and use Garcia who hopefully doesn't suck also. We are "rigging" the time it takes to get a character to reach their final product. We aren't rigging the stats with Power Rings, Speedwings, etc. and we don't use RNG abuse (which would be a pain unless you start the fight with high XP soft resetting and all) Just the time to reach 10/20/and promote and stick with what we got. And what did you mean with the Nino example. So shes an underleveled promoted sage and shes still better then others like Erk and Pent. I get the 2nd part but did you mean anything in the first sentence because levels truely mean nothing a lv 20 Mage Nino who capped everything and could kill Erk who is 20/20 yet has terrible resistance? I'm just lost on the first sentence plz explain
  5. Okay interesting thoughts I agree with most of them I had a feeling the last paragraph would have some problems since I only wrote it last night and learned about the diaster then. In Duessel's B support and Natasha's A support Knoll talks about his past with Lyon and the dark stone I believe. They (Knoll and the sane Lyon) somehow (unknowingly) tempered with the dark stone and caught a glimpse into the future 5.5 years after the war of the stones. And they see that Grado's basically a diaster. He mentioned that Renais and Ferlina(sp?) were safe locations but thats going more into the history of Magvel instead of Knoll save for the fact that he wanted Natasha to flee with him to one of those 2 locations. http://www.serenesforest.net/fe8/support/053.html theres natashas A support with him @ the buttom Heres the main facts from the Duessel Support (copied form serenesforest) Knoll: I should be more concise. Prince Lyon and I pierced the veil that clouds our futures. Duessel: What? You...could see into the future? How is that possible? What magic is powerful enough to-- (few lines talking about time they aren't important) Knoll: We continued our work. There were ceremonies, rituals--such horrors... And then we saw it. In the near future, Grado would be ravaged by catastrophe. Duessel: A catastrophe? Do you... Knoll: No, it's not the conflict in which we are currently embroiled. This event is still in our future. We saw Grado. We saw the earth crumble. We saw our people dying. We saw the shape our future would take. Duessel: What? That's madness... Idiocy! I've lived a long life, and I've never heard of anything like that. Not ever. Knoll: I am not surprised that you do not believe me, General. We could not believe it, either. We tried to disprove what we had seen. But nothing could shake the vision. In this disaster, Grado would be destroyed. Countless would die. Those who died quickly would be spared the slow horror of starvation. This was when the emperor died, by the way. Lyon was shattered by despair. He devoted himself to research, and then came the Dark Stone... ----------------------- It is a fact barely known and I just saw it yesterday and judging by your post I'm assuming not many knew or cared about it either but thats was one of the main facts that jumped out to you if you see his 9 support convos. So thanks your constructive critisism. I agree overall. The mages thing all the support convo said was mages were to blame not celrics and priests. So mabye it was possibly a translation error and Knoll was referring to him Lyon and the Royal Mages. So I'll use the he as you said since I just assuming it was the royal mages. I'll either edit this post ltr or if theres another post I'll just post again with the new better Summary of Knoll.
  6. ><' Now I see why we are disagreeing we are looking at why they are better in a different view I'm looking at the characters stats themselves obviously for the world map and tower abuse you can get Amelia/Ewan to promote easily so each can be (10)/20/1 obviously Your looking at it as if its FE6/7/9/10 without Bonus XP and arena just purchasing your weapons and heading out to battle. If there wasn't the world map or arena I'd agree with you 100% on everything but Garcia>Ross If you sacrifice one level to Ross (chapter three where you get Neimi and Colm) he can easily promote to pirate/fighter by chapter 4 assuming he killed mabye one or two enemies last time in chapter 2. And at which point he is already Garcia's= Ross lv 1 avg stats(rounded to make in eaiser to read) 23, 12, 6, 6, 12, 5, 3 Garcia lv 4 28, 8, 7, 7, 3, 5, 1 And just as long as Ross has hit a Pirate/Fighter everyone except at that point can arena abuse themselves to lv 20 anyway and you can see everyones typical stats. Ross (lv 20 fighter) 36.6 20 12.8 11.4 19.2 10 6.6 Garcia (lv 20 fighter) 40.8 18.4 13.4 10.2 9.4 9 3.4 Seeing as you will be rich at that point it is also safe to purchase a bunch of javelins/fire/and flux for the other 2 trainees. And keep in mind that Ross does have the option of Berserker which only benefits his stats and saves you a hero crest assuming you don't want to promote colm but you can get him a seal later on. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If the characters we are comparing reached (10)/20/1 at the same time would you agree a bit more with my opinion? And thats clearly possible with tower abuse I once promoted Amelia to General the chapter after I got her and the same thing for Ewan. Overall I think thats y we have been disagreeing since we are looking @ them differently I'd purposely kill Amelia and Ewan if you got them at that point in the game with no tower abuse or arenas.
  7. (lol debate) For Ross I was looking at it for users who have Axes as primary weapons so no Gerik, Gilliam, Duessel (not that Duessel is contest anyway) Ross and Garcia have similar growths but Ross does have the 10 extra levels so as a warrior in this case his average stats will typically be better then Garcia's. Taking the fighter warrior path for example he will typically excel in speed a little more. And still Ross does have the option of Berseker and slightly better speed and skill. And his defenses won't make much of a diff. just like Garcia. For Ewan and Knoll (look @ them as Druids): Honestly both could be better. Knoll does have a slight advantage in some stats but his defense and luck are just plain crap. Ewan, like the other two trainees have great luck. Ewans defense is not much better then Knoll's so in reality both are about equal once they have promoted and reached a lv 20 Druid. So I'll say Ewan=Knoll looking at serenesforest's final stats for them. I will give you Ephriam>Amelia but as said I left out a few units such as Tana and Cormag and I never said Amelia>Ephraim. Using Forde Kyle Franz and Amelia as Paladins now. First off Forde loses to Amelia (as Paladins) for their average stats in Strength (although the average stats shows Amelia winning in strength then less then .5) speed luck defense(slightly) and resistance. While Forde only beats Amelia by a few points in HP and one point in skill. True that HP is important and the average shows Forde with 54 and Amelia with 46 but on the other hand Amelias better defense and res can protect her and save her a few hit points so their defenses are about the same. I can't see anyway that Forde>Amelia though just b.c he has slightly better HP. For Kyle I think hes one of the best lancers around. He owns Amelia in HP big time aswell as strength and barely def. but loses to her in skill speed luck and resistance by more then just 1-3 points like he does for strength and Def. Again I can't see anyway u can honestly say that Kyle>Amelia but it would be a tougher argument that Amelia>Kyle again. Franz is basically just like the other 2 better in HP and strength (2 points in this case) and this time they max speed but Amelia, being female has one more point then Franz. Amelia beats Franz in Skill Luck Res and they are about = in def in this case. For the horseback units I guess in comes down to wether you think makes a character better. In my opinion its should be if they have enough str to get the job done which all 4 paladins do if can they hit their enemy twice (and let alone hit it) and can they take a few hits and still be safe. For Amelia vs Gilliam (as generals) Gilliam has a clear lack in speed. In my CC he can't even double attack any "promoted" monsters. Amelia on the other hand is still a lv 10 General (while Gilliam was 20) and has nearly capped speed with just one point to go and is still powerful enough to kill the monsters in 2 or sometimes one shot. No stat boosters were used of course. I can understand your view of the horseback units but I'm just confused over Gilliam. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well I feel I talked abit to much but heres my final satement. Ross>Garcia (more time to develop better stats and the option of Berserker) Ewan=Knoll (Both slightly own eachother in one stat or another) Amelia>Gilliam (Owns him in speed and still powerful enough to get the job done) Amelia greater then if not equal to Forde,Kyle, and Franz (see 2nd to last paragraph) Finally the ones I said earlier were just from seeing all their stats in the last file I typically don't bother looking up growth rates and average stats.
  8. Hector>Lyn>Eliwood Eliwood just ends up sucking around the time the heaven seals are obtained. In Hector Hard mode I was forced to bench him since he became so useless. For lulz I had him kill Uhai in the final chapter and big surprise +1 in HP that was it... However in a normal mode file I completed a week ago Eliwood actually did alright 26/27 Attack almost capped speed. Capped skill and def and res were good. Still I prefer Hector I've got him to cap everything except res. once
  9. I usually have General-Amelia Berserker-Ross and Druid-Ewan. My vote goes to Amelia due to her high speed. and Trainees once they hit 3rd tier are typically the best of their weapon class. Ross>Garcia and Dozla Ewan>Knoll Amelia>Gilliam Franz Kyle etc. However Kyle is still good if you ask me. (I left the flying units like Tana out on this one Tana and Cormag are also great units)
  10. Knoll If something needs to be changed I can look into it later today. Summary: Knoll is first seen after Ephraim's army kill Vigarde in the Grado Keep. Ephraim meets him in a prison cell in the keep and discovered he was planned to be executed later on for protesting against Lyon while he was possessed by The Demon King. Knoll confesses the secret about the dark stone, Lyon, and the Demon King to Ephraim. Ephraim is soon informed that Eirika and Jehanna are under an assault. Ephraim, his army, and Knoll rush to Jehanna to support Eirika. Knoll remains with Ephraim and Eirika to fight the Grado army and The Demon King. After Jehanna is protected from the assault from Grado and Ephraim shares his story Knoll told him Knoll’s role dies down afterwards and remains as a playable unit in the group. In the epilogue Knoll focuses on the reconstruction of Grado to restore it to its former glory as Lyon wanted it before his possession from the demon king. After Grado is restored Knoll disappears never to be seen again. Knoll is shown through support conversations that he regrets everything that happened to him in the past. He confesses to former Grado general Duessel that he sometimes fells that he would have been better off executed back in Grado keep. He also confesses to Natasha that he feels that himself and other mages are responsible for the tragedy of what has happened to Lyon and the surge of demons appearing in Magvel. Knoll has also witnessed a glimpse future of Grado after the War of the Stones with Lyon before the war. Five and a half years later Grado is the victim of an earthquake leaving the country in ruins and only a few will survive. This future disaster is revealed only to Duessel and Natasha through support conversations. This can also relate to why Knoll disappeared after Grado's reconstruction, so he could protect himself.* ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * wasn't sure about the last sentence since Knoll could have disappeared for this reasonor perhaps hes trying to find a new way of life like mentioned before. Thats it there were two things I was wondering. 1. Should I focus a little more about the Dark Stone's background with Lyon and him? 2. Should I create a better ending then the fact that he saw the future that Grado gets ruined?
  11. I'd have to say Bastian for one in part 2 he was aware of the rebels so he left Crimera so the rebels would feel more confident to actually rebel. He also did plenty of good work behind the scenes in the Mad Kings War such as realizing that Renning was Bertram (not that that was hard or anything) and tried to find a way to save him and checking the rubble from the Black Knight's battle with Ike when he "died'' to see that the armor or corpse where there. If not I'd agree with xanatha with Lehran his plan was a success, still my vote goes to Bastian.
  12. was the username Chozo003? If so that wasn't me but a friend of mine long story short I was away from the PC for a little while and he requested the avatar for me to save time. thx for the welcomes everyone
  13. Sigrun Tanith Vika volug and Sothe in the first half of part one. I like Sothe and use him mainly in part 4 using bonus xp to get him to lv 20. Otherwise Sothe is an XP stealer in part 1 and just ok in part 3. Like most 2nd tier characters in the Daein army 2nd tier characters can't take too many hits from Laguz in part 3
  14. Boss abuse Djur (part 1 chapter 7) with anyone whos not promoted then use Micaiah with paragon to sacrifice her way to level 20. Once I kill Djur get Micaiah to 1 HP and get on the seize point. Then Slowly sacrifice 2-3 HP to someone at low HP but has a lot of HP already like Vloug or Maurim. Kill Tormod or Maurim (hate them) in 4-4 and then have Ike talk to the one whos alive. Ike: Tormod (should be able to see Maurim) your backups here. *Tormod dies next to Ike* Ike: So Muarim hows Tormod. Its the same convo pretty much. Ike finds out that Tormod/Maurim died but the other one greives for a moment and tell Ike they will still fight with him in the other ones name.
  15. typically its 1. Edward 2. Ike 3. Zihark 4. Neph. 5. W.e Archer I used (Leonardo or Shinon if leonardo gets bad level ups) Last time I forced myself to use new characters and I got 1. Zihark (Capped everything) 2. Aran (capped everything but magic...) 3. Ike 4. Rolf 5. Sothe (capped everything) Aran and Zihark did 80% of their last chapter in 3-13 which is usually solo'd by Edward and killed Ike on the last turn and Laguz abused their way to 20/20/20 with Feral One abuse
  16. As you can guess I'm new. I was looking to find a FE forum and I always use Serenes to help me out in FE7-8 for item locations and that kinda thing so I joined the forum. Just three simple things you should know about me. -I mainly play FE7-10 Soon to be 7-11 -My two favorite nintendo series are FE and SSB -I'm a newbie not a n00b I have worked as an admin on another forum (my avatar is from their also and its not Fire Emblem before you all ask) Thats about it I'll probably be around the FE7-10 (soon 11) most of the time -King Soren
