  1. Ehhhh, I don't know about this game. I haven't played it yet, but from the looks of it, it's "the same" as A Link to the Past, which I didn't like personally. I feel with most Zelda games, you don't have to like one to like another, for example Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, despite offering the same game play and graphics, there are a variety of new features including the ability to transform into a Deku, Goron or Zora and an entirely new world. If you didn't like Ocarina's environment? Here's some completely new ones with Termina. If I recall, this isn't the case here, where if you don't like A Link to the Past's overworld, you're stuck with it in this one. This game does however offer the new painting and shopping(?) system(s), which could differentiate it from A Link to the Past, so is it worth it? Or does the paint/wall mechanics seem placed there only to give some depth to the game? Is this the case here? I don't want to invest 40 or so dollars into the game, if I'm not going to like it.
  2. I agree, support changes are getting hate, but I for one find them much better. Contributing way more than simply a ward bot, thank god for that. Lich Bane Sona is extremely fun and I can dare say carry at times.
  3. Eh, no thanks. Sakurai done a pretty bad job, even with Captain Falcon and Ganondorf, despite being reworked, he still uses very similar movements or general actions to that of Captain Falcon which is incredibly needless as it didn't represent Twilight Princess Ganondorf but rather a remade Melee version of Ganondorf with an updated look.
  4. That's the most hilarious thing I've seen yet, thank you. Yes, as others have said he is wrong. Don't worry about reports, I have a friend who is simply really bad at the game and goes 4-12-2 or even more deaths and has been reported for feeding multiple times, when in reality he is just a Bronze V. He hasn't been banned or even warned, so no worries. :)
  5. I don't feel as if Chrom should replace Ike. Ike was unique in the sense he was a heavy swordsman and if obviously popular. Although Ike really being heavy in Path of Radiance? No, he's not. I think they made him heavy in Brawl to make him more unique from his already extremely generic persona, thus I find it unlikely he'll be cut. Plus he's the lord representing non-handle held games, sorry for Siguld and Leif, but Ike is currently the representation for Fire Emblem console games. Hopefully that changes in the future. Actually, Shadow Dragon had the most hated artwork. I personally find it better than Awakening's though. I think FE11 was to fit an old-like art, but with modern touch-ups, hence it's intense detail in the artwork.
  6. The meta in terms of jungle seems like it would change, since some junglers won't be as effective when every lane "certainly" as some ward coverage. Some champions like Zac who can hang out in absurdly obscure places and fling himself to a location don't seem like it'll make a difference, but I worry for Master Yi, Nunu, Warwick and the like, although feel as if Evelynn is going to dominate.
  7. I actually fully support breaking the Pokemon meta! Go for it, I'm supportin' yah. There are a lot of things people don't say work until "professional players" start doing it. I can't really speak for Pokemon, but if you can make it work for your team, I fully support you.
  8. I am inclined to agree since what you're saying makes complete sense, however I have the feeling both Ike and Lucario will not get removed (much to my dismay) because of how popular they are. Ike tying with Link in popularity from the female polls and Lucario being in general one of the most popular Pokemon ever make me doubt they'll be removed. Then again, Mewtwo was removed and he falls under the same category as Lucario.
  9. Someone's just mad that Marth ain't sporting a tight leotard. Ignore 'em. Who cares about Ike, anyway? He's obviously not going to be replaced, the real problem is whether they'll replace Assist Trophy Lyn!!
  10. Anyone on OCE? I got a NA account, but I have random lag spikes at times.
  11. I'm surprised people thought Lucina would be used over Marth or will be used as an alternate costume (although I guess I am going out of a limb to say she won't, since it's not confirmed, I just think it's unlikely). Awakening's designs were pretty god awful in general, so I had no doubt in my mind that they'd use his Fire Emblem 12 design which is amazing. Marth looks pretty great, looking forward to it. The question was always Ike for me, I don't think he's going to be replaced. There's no iconic Awakening character to replace his heavy, strong but slow style. With that noted, I guess Awakening will appear as an assist trophy? To be honest, I hope not! I like Lyn's appearance and want it to be kept.
  12. Interesting, so if a hacker did claim credit, you'd find something wrong with that? You should note, that even if FEif did give credit, that wouldn't solve the issue at hand that they stole other peoples custom work. Also noted that you mention that what people is doing is illegal, I agree with that statement, but am unsure of whether taking someone else's work, regardless of being in an illegal product is legal or not. Should that work not be copyrighted to the creator? Either way, the legality statement isn't "opposite". You may have a point with justifying the righteousness as Nintendo probably aren't losing many assets or having their work claimed by another. But let's be real, the only time Nintendo intervenes is when they see others making money over their products, generally something of noticeable popular. Hacks do however, opt for people new to the Fire Emblem series to download a ROM over use a real copy as it not only lets you play the original game, but also hacks applied to the game. As you may know, Nintendo is applying more and more anti-piracy codes into their games to prevent ROMs and the like. Just because it isn't hurting Nintendo's assets by any substantial amount any more does not make it "right". You should actually take into account the average person does not care if they're doing right or wrong. Just because a game is xx years amount old doesn't make it "right" in the slightest to download, regardless of income. Maybe more acceptable, but not right.
  13. Of course there are hints of hypocrisy, cause that's what the whole topic revolves around. Unless you're calling me a hypocrite? What I've been saying has hopefully not given that notion, but I apologize if it has. You completely missed the mark if you think I'm promoting the idea to stop, because not only would I be trying to stop people doing something they enjoy and put effort into, but also something basically everyone does. Who hasn't downloaded something illegally? Music, games, movies? How we feel about downloading these things, the developers of FEif feel about the mugs they stolen, really. They don't care, just like how we care about Nintendo's feelings about the matter.
  14. I agree! I feel asking and crediting are the perfect way to avoid the issue, but I wouldn't disagree if someone said it was hypocritical as realistically, it was done to Nintendo first. However, I would never enforce it on things such as splices or edits. Customs, as I said are another ball game. I'd like to point out that the people that find: Stealing from the company, fine. Stealing from the community, a satanic act. Just seems to show a bit of... unreasonable bias.
  15. I never said anyone should stop. But complaining about something you're doing is hypocrisy. Which is the whole discussion. Sorry, I didn't read your post. I don't feel like going through the thread for it, feel free to tell me which page however.
  16. Let's be real here. This is pretty much the most controversial topic here. Not whether Nintendo is fine with it, not whether the spriters are fine with it, but simply the debate going on between theft versus hypocrisy. I think everyone can agree theft is wrong, but I think it boils down to whether the community, us as users, are sympathetic for other users who have had their work stolen when that's what they're doing to Nintendo. Personally, I think theft has basically become a given. Movies, music and games, I'd be surprised if there was a poster who hasn't downloaded at least one of the three for personal use. Did we ask Nintendo to use alter their work? Did we ask Nintendo to take their sprites and splice them into something for fun? No, we - as a community - did not. From the article Vincent posted, we can assume as long as Nintendo doesn't feel their income is threatened, they won't take action (however that doesn't mean they necessarily care). Let's say I spliced Anna and Fiora together. Then someone took that splice and spliced some extra hair on and recoloured it. This boils down to personal views. Do I have the right to be angry even though I done the same to Nintendo? Of course, customs are a whole other ball game. But in the end, we didn't ask Nintendo. FEif didn't ask us. In my personal opinion... are they in the wrong? Yes. Are we in the wrong? Yes.
  17. Interesting discussion. They may or may not know, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't. I find a lot of companies are completely unaware about international distribution of their work. For example, a mangaka was getting complaints on twitter by ENGLISH fans about a chapter of a character dying, a few days before the chapter was even released in Japan. As many know, scanlation chapters are released 2-4 days before they're released in Japan depending on the magazine. That author pretty much seemed completely unaware of the issue, despite the fact that scanlation is a massive thing on the Internet. Edit: I think another interesting thing to look at is Tear Ring Saga. Something of which has basically the exact same gameplay as Fire Emblem and was sued by Nintendo promptly. Understandably so, don't get me wrong. Now you may say that we shouldn't compare fan hacks to an official game release, but I just find it interesting to mention as it shows Nintendo isn't all that fun and happy. Tear Ring Saga improved quite a few things from the Fire Emblem series, especially the characters and development. I think if Nintendo ever felt threatened, they'd take action immediately. As they did with Tear Ring.
  18. Excuse me, but I asked for proof. Just because someone has not told you to stop doesn't give you any right to edit their work without their permission. Now if you could prove Nintendo knows about all these hacks and modifications of their games and still done nothing about it, then you could make a point.
  19. ...Huh. I'd like some proof to that claim, cause I have heard no such thing and it seems pretty ridiculous.
