Let's kick this off! Full custom (Just in case it still matters) -
Battlesprite practice. I'm using a different GIF animator so bear with me while I learn it. A few very slight changes. Lighter freckles, rounder face, and thinner eyebrows.

Well it wouldn't be a competition anymore than we already have just in our sprite topics, I mean we all want to have the best sprites. This isn't like BBSS or the Mug splicing comps, these are nominated by members from your topic(probably) and not submitted directly. So there's no real difference in what you're spriting, it's just a sort of "Best of 2015" compilation. Which is motivation to improve because who doesn't like to be recognized?

As much as I like the idea, I kinda have to agree with Nickt. There are the "Master Spriters", the "Good Spriters", and the "Noobs", and we all know the votes will tend very heavily towards favorite/well-established spriters, leaving little motivation for beginners. That being said, it is possible that it could bring back some old faces or even some undiscovered talents. Maybe set a cap on how many awards a single artist can win in each SASACA because I could see one of the "Master Spriters" sweeping all competitors. But I like the idea of recognizing all those who contribute to this community even if they may not be spriters at all. I'd vote for it.

I'm Back! Well after some busy times I'm finally able to sprite again (on my new PC now). I thought i should give myself a refresher so I tried these. I like them but I just can't get his nose right. :( [spoiler=Rapunzel's WIP gif] EDIT- I think I fixed his nose!

I like the concept and his hair is great but his face has a lot of issues. Most obvious is that is eyes are at a different angle than the rest of his face... or maybe his face is at a different angle than his eyes... I dunno. The way it is now makes it look like either his jaw is super short or his eyes are squished together or both. Something bothers me about his neck too but I can't put my finger on it. Too long maybe?

@Thor- I don't think that would be a problem as most classes do have multiple weapons and genders so as far as I'm concerned, go for it!

It's one of the modifiers, Ana; there's no real rhyme or reason. And while horses are probably going to be common (hence being in the title) the rules only say mounted: they could be riding practically anything.

Biweekly Battle Sprite Showdown -Round 6- ~Swords drool, Horses rule~ --- ○Create a new class. ○Cannot use swords. ○Must be mounted. ○Must have green in the palette. --- RULES: 1) only 1 entry per contestant, either in the Full Custom division or in the Splice/Edit division.(Animated may be a division if enough entries are in to justify it) -Please declare which division you fall under to avoid potential confusion. 2) No voting for your own entry! 3) Entries should be limited to 16 colors.(15 colors+ 1 background color) This is more of a guideline, but good to follow for style and challenge reasons. Colors may be custom or using GBA sprite palletes. New! 4) Entries must be within 240x160 pixels. 5) No posting previous/old works!
