While we're talking about A tier, can we ask why Stahl is at the top of it? Being one of the many units that has a shit base speed and no real way to cure it until level 10 where he is Unit That Needs Second Seal#1Billion (and has the problem of losing a horse, and has either the issue of requiring lots of exp to others to get it/worse results for others at his level), and outside of transportation he doesn't really serve as a good combat unit. This alone doesn't really seem like A tier quality. I dunno how low he'd go (I can at least ay he makes a decent support if he gets 10 in Str and Def early so he can help train up someone then ship them off to someone better when you decide to drop Stahl), but I would at least like to see him drop to B. Everyone in A tier has the argument of even though they can serve short term like Stahl and be useful, unlike Stahl they can actually prove to be useful or powerful units in the long run. In my experience with Stahl, he has never come close to approaching this. It's similar to Vaike, in that they are just really useful in the short term. At minimum, I'd say above Miriel's current position, but Miriel is another unit I believe should drop, but then again perhaps our experiences with her are a bit scewed. I say that cause I wanna ask what thoughts are on units that get promoted early, like an immediate 10. Some units just can't stand to wait till 20, and could stand to use the immediate boost if their reclasses don't help them. Miriel would be one such unit, seeing as she has Sage for Rescue use or Dark Knight because +9 HP and 7 Def tends to make your durability issues go away, and with a pairing like anna (+1 Move granting additional movement for Anna, who then can take the +Magic support to have a deep reaching Rescue to pull someone far ahead into a map) could prove to be more potent than waiting for Miriel to pathetically reach level 20. We have a lot of Master Seals (we can buy them eventually, if not from Anna deals at random if one is so fortunate) that could potentially be put to use. Others I feel fit that vein: Gregor for superior supporting as Hero for beef or Bow Knight for mobilty (Imagine Nowi with 7 move), Kellam for the same reasons as Gregor, Henry because lol 9 base speed, Virion because lol leveling him to 20, and Ricken for similar reasons to Miriel. Most others are able to wait it out for better lategame I imagine.

Well yes, but I want the kids primarily. Avatar also has Anna to pair up with, who is a fantastic support once Avatar and Chrom want to socialize. Anna's 100% the better pair than Miriel or Tharja, so at the same time as much as they want Avatar, they're SOL. Want to buy Nosferatu but currently there's a swarm at that shop. Reclassed Sumia to Dark Flier. Losing Lancefair sucks, but I'll still have Galeforce. Her staff range is too pathetic to make use of her as a mobile Rescue, and the tomes will serve more helpful in the immediate future compared to 1 Str and Def. Even if I wanted Rescuebotting later, I can always reclass to Falco once I hit 15. On top of that, the Mag I'll most likely get from time as a Dark Flier will probably give me more staff range deeper into the game. I've also noticed an issue with Morgan when it comes to skills: I only have 5 slots. All of his starting skills are good (well, Ignis is debatable, but with Rightful King it will be useful), and then I want Hex, Anathema, Vengeance, Weaponsthrift, or Sol. A little annoying, but I figured I'd ask what you guys think. Right now I'm on a bit of down time for the playthrough, due to a group of risen swarming the shop I want. Though now that I remember it, I totally have a Naga Tear! Who should I give that to? Amusingly enough, I'm thinking of giving it to Frederick, since everyone else can get by on leveling speed. Thoughts?

Having actually used Nowi before, I can say that I got her to 30 by Tiki's arrival (Kjelle's chapter was really nice to her). My issue with her is that once she hits 30, her speed pretty much has hit it's cap, and unless she gets speed like every level, her speed always remains low. With that in mind, she seemed to essentially be permanently 2RKOing. She was never straight killing. PEMN though, so Interceptor is right when he says we could do with more evidence.

Chapter 13

Yeah, was thinking Merc, will gladly take that suggestion. As for Rally Spectrum, my issue with waiting to inherit it is that lategame I feel that Avatar is just kinda bad in actual combat. A good majority of the game he's good due to fast leveling, but he does hit a roof imo. Morgan doesn't really have this issue, so it be better later on if he were on the frontlines instead of Avatar, who has Spectrum to keep him or herself useful. Though I suppose after 15 I could always reclass her to Sorcerer, since Nostanking would actually be good with her, also would put some meat on her bones.

So, I 1 turned chapter 13. That wasn't fun, even though it's doable with Sumia and Fred (Don't think Cordelia has a reliable support by now...I think? Eh, could probably rely on the Killer Lance). Who here wants me to do this without 1 turning it? As a note, I'm looking ahead a bit to see Morgan and Lucina. One interesting thing with Morgan is that Chrom gives him Rightful King, and since Morgan starts off as a level 10 Tactician, there is no reason to promote him since Rally Spectrum doesn't stack. So it's best for him to inherit Ignis, then go into a different class. Most likely one that has activatable skills.

That's kind of the problem. All of his reclass choices come with a tradeoff. Staying as a Great Knight gives Defender. Great if he's going to stay a support bot the rest of the game, but it's a shitty skill to pass down to Cynthia since she won't have balling defense. Going Paladin is the best for him as it gives him the best of both worlds, but the support bonuses are weak for Sumia herself, and again Defender isn't that great a skill for Cynthia. Going General is the best all around since it gives Sumia the support bonuses she needs, and Rally Def is awesome to pass down to Cynthia, but that 5 move and lack of +1 Move support can somewhat hamper things. Gryphon gives +1 Move and has Deliverer which is awesome to have AND to pass down, but the bonuses are things Sumia already has, and Fred becomes seriously fragile as a Gryphon (35 HP and 13 Def is definitely not what he has now). 18 speed and his weapon mastery makes him an offensive monster, but that's what you have Sumia for if you're really dying for a doubler. So, I don't really know what I want to go for. I originally set out for General. Hmmm...guess I set out to show if it's worth a damn, might as well follow through with it, right?

Chapter 12 That being said, Sumia and Fred are still going strong. Not seeing problems yet. Just need to decide on a reclass. I really want General, but...

I'd imagine it has to do with speed and the fact Basilio does not have it.

They do give that aura, but the issue is that it takes them a lot longer to get all those other skills. For Vaike, Zeal+Gamble+Wrath is a very natural progression. Chapter 11

Chapter 9 Fred's still going strong. This chapter had another important boss kill for him. It's also then I realize I had 3 reclass dependent characters before him. Vaike I'm starting to think should be warming my bench. Know I won't miss him. Vaike. 6 levels. 1 Speed. 6 levels. 2 Def. I'm not even that impressed by his Str. If you're wondering where Sumia and Cordelia's sudden jumps came from, I gave one the Seraph Robe and the other the Energy Drop. Gregor's not feeling too bad about the class change. The +3 Str somewhat makes up for his lost sword rank cause 16 Str still hits like a truck. Glad to have Libra and Tharja on the force. Can't wait to have Lifetaker+Renewal Noire again. That is fun incarnate.

Yeah, I'd agree with the notion, just wanted to point out that 10 by the end of chapter 8 wasn't impossible as stated. Just my results were due to...An unfortunate slacker.

Her Res and Speed are good to the point where being blessed in those stats don't really mean much. Considering most threats are physical in nature, I would prefer not having such low Def, and the -1 Str is still an annoying thing. My opinion though, won't bash you for your thoughts. By the way, never use Vaike as a serious unit. I'm sure you already know that, but it bears repeating.

Wouldn't say impossible, just depending on different tactics. Note that in Paralogue 3, I could have had Panne kill an Archer and then eat up all the exp there by herself, then the +1 Move would have actually been helpful in chapter 8. I also wouldn't be feeding Vaike's dumb ass. Speaking of which, lemme check the list here... Vaike needs to drop under Kellam. Vaike's 1 chapter grants almost nothing (Virion with Sully works just as well. Actually might work better, because in the chapter after they have a Csupport so that Sully can have +3 Def while having similar Str. She isn't a hulksmash so the +1 Str Vaike gives means dick, while the +1 Def is appreciated). Meanwhile, Kellam also supplies +3 Str while suppling a nice fat +5 Def, which is superb for any unit that has great offense but is in need of durability, like Lonqu or Cordelia. Vaike's just another unit that needs to get to level 10 and class change, difference being he sucks all the way there, and then is outclassed by a guy who shows up that very moment (Gregor). I don't forsee Vaike ever really growing into his own outside of something silly like stacking critskills to be a critbot, which requires the attention of aura people like Dark Mages and Solidarity to be near him at all times. Even if Kellam isn't an offensive monster, his support is just undeniably better and more useful to much better units.

Lonqu makes for a terrific support bot when not used seriously. He's doing wonders for Miriel. Gregor no matter what is going to have to depend on Speed Tonics for now. Probably will pair hm up with Cherche. Anyways, point being that you don't have to train Lonqu seriously for Lonqu to be awesome and useful. I'll probably be using him for a while.

Yeah, Chapter 8 is a 1-A sort of chapter. I find it amusing that you are not only wanting to use Cordelia harder, but even with a pretty screwed Sumia you have somehow gotten her higher level than mine. Guess I'm more concerned with getting Fred to level 10 faster. Then again, I tend to think of getting the best skills for the kids too much. Come on man, think of that sick Rally Cynthia could have.

The barracks got me a Reeking Box. Wonderful. Thankfully, the enemies crowding the shop with the Strength and Def tonics cleared out so I was free to stock up on a few. Chapter 8 So I had a thought. 11 Speed is kinda ass. He already has both mercenary skills, so there's no real reason to keep him as a Mercenary. Should I change Gregor to a barbarian or a Myrm? Barbarian gives him a big Atk boost, but only gains +1 Speed (Still not great) and loses his weapon rank. Myrmidon skills aren't the best, he loses a bit of durability and isn't as rewarding since he has no axe rank for when he goes Hero eventually, BUT it gives him actual speed that works, and he keeps his Sword rank. You guys have thoughts on that?
