  1. Thanks for the compliment, from what I've seen you're not the type to toss those out like candy, so it means something. Also, yeah, that's what I've been saying, at the end of the day, I just want to have fun here. I'll probably walk away if it ever gets not fun, honestly. Cause if I'm writing paragraphs of roleplaying on the internet out of some sense of duty or something, and not to enjoy myself, really, what the fuck am I doing?
  2. Hey guys, it's been a week. We've outlived our life expectancy here, yay!

    Shu's Quest

Stark Stark's smile was obvious as he chuckled at the old man's jibes. "Haha, yeah... For some reason the girls tend to get squeamish when I show 'em what's under the patch. Like they're surprised I'm missing my eye." Stark didn't pull the patch back, but he did play around with it a bit. He almost had to every time he mentioned it. Like he had to make sure the eye hadn't grown back or whatever. It was a dumb little habit, but he supposed a lot of habits were dumb if you stopped and took a good look at 'em. The old wizard lost some of the magic in the air about him when his smile dropped. Looked like he put a lot into that. Well of course he did. Stark had been stupid not to think of that. He asked Stark if he knew what was up here. That was too bad, Stark had been just about to ask that himself. "No, I dunno what happened. Just, some goblins showed up and we started fighting them, then before we knew it, everything was burning down. It was crazy..." Stark's smile finally faded too. At least that thing was dead now. He hadn't really stopped to think about it before, but... "Yeah... I mean, why were there a bunch of small fry monsters coming with that elemental. A good chunk of them burned up too, it don't make sense..." But the conversation was over, for now. The villagers had gathered around Eltair, asking him to heal their wounds, and he had been obliging. Stark figured it was best to let him do his thing, and he returned to the others. Kyle was just talking about setting up for the night. "No." Stark cut in, still walking up to the group. "We can't stop here. You think Eltair is still up for keeping guard over everyone after that?" Stark slumped himself into a sitting position. "No, we got everyone together, and it's still early afternoon. Alabaste is pretty close, we can probably make it there by nightfall if we don't get slowed down too much. I don't want a group of people this large camping out here. Monsters see a big group they back off, they see a group too big, they know they can grab a few and get away clean. No one else has to die here today."

Stark Oh Lightkratos.... Oh Lightkratos it was back. Was it not happy? Was it not satisfied with all the death and destruction it had brought down today? Wasn't this enough? Which way was away? He had to leave. he couldn't wait for the fire to get started, not this time. He couldn't go through that again. He just couldn't. He was so lucky last time. He made it. Almost no one made it, but he made it. He couldn't not make it now. He had to go. ...No. No, man up. This thing, it had taken his...something. He didn't know, but something of who hje was had been taken. And this was what caused it. He wouldn't let it keep it. He would stand up to it. even if it killed him to do so. Stark pulled out his broadsword, he wasn't sure how to kill it, or even if he could, but he'd try. He'd make up for that kid he left behind. He wouldn't let there be any more like that. It was throwing fireballs, it hit someone. The heat around it was so intense, the air was bending. Everything was harder to see. Did he know who'd been hit? Whoever it was, they looked finished. The creature reached down to someone. Now was his chance, he'd charge it. Here goes, time to be a man or die trying... ...Where did that ice come from? Stark stood frozen in his tracks. Something just took out an arm of the elemental. Surely now was the time to-no wait, it grew it back, that was useless. Someone he couldn't make out past the heat waves stood forward and shouted something. A wall of ice showed up. Stark knew only one man who could pull off something like that, but there was no way. It had been so long, and he was an old man then... As the elemental was felled with an impressive show of power, Stark was certain it had to be him. He was so elated, he almost skipped over. Upon closer inspection, it was indeed the old sage, a friendly face from his past at just the right moment. About time something went right. "Eltair!" Stark made to hug his old friend, completely taken by the moment, too much so to care about the lack of proper manliness he was showing.

    Shu's Quest

Stark "AAAAUGH!" Stark rushed past Fargo, past Kyle, past the women and children, and into a Direwolf waiting for the perfect time to pounce. It would never find it though, instead it found the tip of his blade in the inner reaches of it's throat. The second wolf pounced from the side before Stark could remove his blade. He grabbed it by the throat as it tried to tear out his own. It's firce jaws snapping at his face now, furious at being held back. Not that Stark was doing a great job at holding it back, keeping it just far enough away to keep his face from being bitten off. He turned his face to the side as he bought his left hand down and back up as quick as he could humanly manage. It wasn't quite fast enough to escape harm, but he did what he had to do. The sword was in the belly of the beast.Well, more the chest of the beast. He wasn't sure what he hit, but it seemed vital, as there was only a yelp before the beast fell limp. It's jaws still resting on the bit of his face they managed to cut up before falling uselessly to the side. Stark tossed the wolf aside, got up, and looked at it for a second. It wasn't enough... "Rrgh! Ugh! Hrrgh!" Stark brought his sword down on the already deceased beast again and again. He wanted to mash it into a fine paste, to use the pieces as a warning to any other wolf that may attack innocents. There wasn't much more then a bloody pile left when he finally stopped swinging. Someone had killed the other wolf. He didn't feel better. Just...empty. "Let's go."
  7. I'd hope so people can provide their thoughts on the RP and they can be addressed.
  8. No. It sounds like the bastardization of CAFE that came after Prodigea stopped running it.
  9. Name: Stark Age: Early thirties Race: Human Appearance: Still crafting it in my head, he's a new char. Missing an eye, imagine him with plain brown hair, taller, 6'3", maybe. Semi-muscular, not beefy, just, fit. Weapons: Broadsword, uses it 2 handed like. Has a knife strapped to his leg for just in case situations. Magic (if applicable): Isn't. OR IS IT?... No, probably not. Yeah... No. Backstory: Was a monster hunter since back before shit hit the fan. Was for a while after too. Lost an eye, lost confidence/faith/whatever, became town guard in some po-dunk shit hole town. Other: Like an older, less successful Tom, except he knows how to fight.

    Herro!

Oh God, let me white knight for you!
  11. Snowy famously has his chars be extremely popular and sexually active, but I'll admit I've been skimming at best, he could have grown as a person since back in the day.
  12. Indeed I am, now all that's left is to convince the rest of the world.
  13. Actually, I'll agree, Kai. Having everyone pair off and bone in an RP is kind of a weird thing. I mean, unless you signed up for an orgy RP or something.
  14. If I thought the quality of your posts needed knocking, I wouldn't have held back, guy. I pointed out my issues with them, writing quality wasn't one of them. Your style may not be perfect, but my style ain't perfect neither, none of us are writing a novel here, we're just doing what we can.
  15. S'cool, guy. Everyone has to start somewhere. The more you do, the better you get, applies to writing, not just sex. Not sure if that was a bad analogy or a shot at Kai for being a virgin. Take it as you will.

    Shu's Quest

Stark The others were bickering amongst themselves, trying to decide what would be a good destination to head to as a group... When had they become a group? Was running from a fire such a bonding exercise? It was true that survival out here required group tactics, but Stark didn't know if he even wanted to... No, he wanted to live. He knew that much. If he didn't, he wouldn't have run so fast or so hard in the first place. His survival instincts had taken hold of him. He was only now starting to settle into a somewhat normal state of mind. Thoughts were regrouping, becoming less scattered, forming lines again. There was a particular line of thought forming now. What would happen to the other survivors? He was willing to bet this group had the most combat experience here. The couple guards that managed to escape were like Jeph, just hometown kids looking to get above the law. They'd never make it anywhere out there. "We should... We have to help them." Stark spoke out oblivious to where in the conversation the others were. "They'll never make it to Alabaste by themselves. We need to get them there, eve if we just keep moving after." If they were to be a group, they might as well do something worthwhile. People were supposed to help people... That kid... A Dark Knight came riding up, beaten, bloody. Wait, the blood was on the outside of the armour in splatters. That wasn't his blood. Goblin's blood was darker then that. What the Hell did he do? "There are bandits... On the road." He muttered as he approached. Stark let go of the hilt of his sword hearing that. It was at least a plausible explanation. But how did he have so much blood on him? Did he take out a full group of bandits by himself? No... No that was dumb, he probably managed to catch a couple off guard and get away on his horse. He was just really unlucky with the spatter, probably.. "Well, that makes the South even less friendly. We don't have the supplies for a trip to Corthrone anyways. There ain't any rivers or creeks or nothing between here and there, heading out without any water would be stupid. We should help the remaining townsfolk to Alabaste, and bum some supplies off them or something. I dunno. It sounds like a plan to me but my head is fucked up." Stark looked to the beaten black knight. "How about you? You don't look like you're in a hurry to head back South, wanna ride with us to Alabaste at least?" Stark realized something and turned to the rest of the...group? "Or any of you, really? Are you guys up for this? Cause I've made up my mind, I'm going with them, but if you all wanna do something else, I've got no call to stop you."
  17. I'm not knocking the quality of the writing, guy. Just saying that consistency of a char is always a good thing. I mean, if it's representing something, or has some significance, sure. I mean, I don't usually RP Shu in first person, but I figured it would be a fun thing to do in this RP since I was killing him off in the first post and wouldn't have to follow through with that. That was all the reasoning I had. If you wanna RP Rutem in present tense, good luck and God speed, all I'm saying is pick a tense and keep at it, champ.
  18. I'm tempted to have us ferry the survivors to safety, but if anyone has any other suggestions, always open. I'm for keeping our story fluid in progression.
  19. Hey, csquared, couple minor things. First off, I don't mind real minor char control to keep the story flowing or summat, but don't be doing it for every little thing, gotta let people decide what they're doing themselves, can't be posting how they're fighting a goblin before they get a chance to, that kind of thing. Also, try and keep your tensing consistent, present tense or past tense. I prefer past tense, but as long as your posts are consistent one way or the other, s'cool.
  20. The fluff? Describing counting pubic hairs and three beer bottles in the bar? How dumb it is that the titular character died in the first post? My lack of forethought? The fact that it won't last a week after it's conception?
  21. Heh, the funny part is historically, Shu dies in whatever he's in. Guess that applies to chat topics too.
  22. Shu thoughts Heli-OHGODWHATI'MNOTEVENINTTHISRPWHATISHAPPENIGRAAAAAARGH!
  23. Actually, Rutem did the original THERE'S FIVE OF THEM thing. Stark just got surly and fought two of em.

    Shu's Quest

Stark "Stark....I think... Fuck man, I dunno." Stark's mind was still back there, it hadn't caught up to him yet. It was still back there. He almost asked, but he didn't want to. If none of them had seen or heard that kid and they learned how he just left him there to die, they'd probably all judge him. And if they had heard the screams for help, seen the hopelessness of it, and ran just like him, he'd probably judge them, even if he had no right to. It was so surreal, watching from this peaceful hill as the town he spent the better part of a ear in burned to the ground in front of him, almost all of it's residents failing to make it out. Scattered survivors made it out through the gates, Stark saw some teenager hop the wall, with some howls behind him. He probably had a rougher time of it then Stark, by the look of him. He probably lost his family... Then got hunted down by wolves. He'd probably have this day as the defining feature of his life from now on, no matter what. Stark hated himself for it, but seeing someone he could suppose was worse off made him feel better about this tragedy. About what he'd done... The survivors stopped coming, but the town kept burning, the flames still licking at the skies. Stark just watched it absentmindedly for a few minutes, it seemed the others were doing the same, as there was no conversation for a few minutes. Stark did finally break the silence though, tearing his eyes away from the still standing church steeple, the symbol of Lightkratos still there, burning high above much of the fallen skyline of the former sleepy community. "So... What... What happens next?" The Brute He was very perturbed with his compatriot at the moment, with his inability to reign in his own beasts. How could he so arbitrarily enlist the aid of a being he hadn't full dominion over? The lack of any semblance of forethought that could be attributed tot his ignoramus was nothing short of infuriating! He should have his intestinal tract forcibly ingested by that overgrown feline he so proudly and openly trounces around on! He should be made to watch as it get the taste of his blood, learns that it is acceptable and safe to devour it's former brutal master. Watch all that loyalty he instilled into it melt away as it feasts happily on his innards! To... This wasn't a constructive line of thought. Indeed, it lead nowhere even remotely helpful. The Brute let out an audible sigh. "Well, there's nothing one could do to stop that incendiary infernal beast now. I suggest we depart to safety until such a time as the township ceases immolation, and return with some of your... less indomitable creatures to aid in the search for the phylactery." The Brute hastily marched towards the wall of the estate shared as a border of the township itself, and scaled it. It wasn't a fashion in which he enjoyed making an escape, but the fires in the town were already well past the point of hazardous. There was nothing to be done for it.
