  1. A 'use everyone' playthrough? FE10 requires you to low-man in some way, since there simply isn't enough experience to get everyone to a respectable level. And some characters are so bad, you HAVE to pump experience into them for them to be good.
  2. She's not even fast. 22 and 31 speed cap respectively mean that she simply can't double some of the faster enemies. Oliver's combat is even worse than Meg's, but Oliver can actually do something else - heal. Plus he can Purgebomb in 4-E, for what it's worth (not much, since Bastian does the same only far better).
  3. Except that he missed out the Turn Limit BEXP. So it wasn't perfect.
  4. Yes, but the other characters on your team don't have those bonuses, so Geitz is better in comparison to them.
  5. I had a nice idea the other day. You have characters promote like in FE9/10, simply by getting to level 20 and gaining a level. But they would have other, secret promotions that you need to use an item for. For example, a Mage normally promotes to a Sage, but with an item could promote to a Mage Knight or even a flying magic unit. Or perhaps secret promotions could key off something else. If a unit gets spd blessed, they promote to a class which takes advantage of that with a high speed cap. If they focus on their sword weapon rank instead of their lance weapon rank, their promotion reflects it. It could key off which route through the game they chose, or even what supports they have. It would be an interesting twist to the branched promotions from FE8.
  6. Is this possible or did you lose by that 10HP? Ike's bond support has no effect on the battle, since neither Ike or the BK can crit (unless you throw Wrath on Ike).
  7. Ilyana is probably my least favourite sage. I'd rank the sages as Tormod>Calill>Soren>Bastian>Ilyana.
  8. Not to mention that her innate skill is wasted on her. Seriously, why give Fortune to the unit who only Micaiah and a few Laguz beat in Luck growth??? If, say, Aran had Fortune, he'd make much better use of it. Fortune is inherently a bad skill. The number of people in the game who have any desire for it can be counted on one hand and get barely anything from it, it takes 20 capacity, and it can be sold for lots of money. It's not really a surprise that the character that does have it doesn't need it. (And she's hardly the only one to make bad use of her innate skill. Kieran's Gamble? Titania's Counter? Shinon's Provoke? Brom's Disarm, Soren's Adept, Tauroneo's Resolve, Leonardo's and Haar's Cancels, Tormod's Celerity, and of course, the other Fortune user, Caineghis, when only 1 enemy in the entirety of Endgame even has a critical rate on him, a fearsome 2% crit chance made only more fearsome by the fact he does 11 damage to a transformed base level Caineghis)
  9. Baloth Woodcrasher... ....wtf I guess these ridiculous cards are more common than I thought. Then again the last time I played magic was Ravnica, so maybe Wizards just started cards that are ballin out of control. It could well be happening. I'll just wait a little longer, someone will probably come up with a better CMC 6 green creature off the top of their head. And of course there's a certain planeswalker that costs 5, I believe and is pretty much the epitome of broken green-ness. Apparently. I'm a noob. :3 Rampaging Baloths is at least competing with Woodcrasher! You mean Garruck Wildspeaker for the Planeswalker, I assume? CMC is 4, and yes, fairly broken. Less sure about all the big green creatures necessarily being broken, though. Black has plenty of kill spells for 3 or less, blue can counter the ones not named Terra Stomper for 2 or 3 mana and has plenty of ways to return creatures to your hand to delay them, white can Path to Exile any of them for 1 mana and has plenty of cheap Enchantments that will usually put a creature out of the game, mono red is probably trying to win before these creatures come into play and has Act of Treason and Mark of Mutiny to turn these creatures against you for a turn. With all of the other colors having all this stuff green really does need it's creatures to be awesome if it's going to pay 6 mana for them. I think he's talking about Nissa 'watchmeplaymywholedeck' Revane, not Garruk Wildspeaker (who certainly isn't broken). Actually, hang on, Nissa is 4 mana too? INFACT, there are no green planeswalkers that cost 5 - they all cost 4. So it's not really easy to tell which one it is.
  10. Best: BEXP (FE9 style) Worst: FE6-8 support system.
  11. Janaff is pretty hot, I don't really think he looks like a boy. Maybe like a woman from the right angle, but that's it. Plus he's got that whole homoerotic bird laguz thing going on. JanaffxUlki would be pretty weird because Ulki looks like a creepy stalker, but JanaffxTibarn or JanaffxLotz? YSPLS. Dozla seems like a creepy pedophile, on the other hand. Thick, bushy beard that you could hide a small child a goat in? Supports Myrrh, Ewan, and Garcia, who JUST HAPPENS to have a young son? Tendency to wander around shirtless? Thunder affinity? Classic pedophile signs.
  12. She has the balls to try and rescue civilians from right under the Begnion army's nose, despite having some of the worst base stats in the game.
  13. SorenxMicaiah: -C- Soren: Ah, hello. Are you Micaiah? Micaiah: Yes. I recognise you, but I can't remember from where... Soren: I'm Soren. I work with the Greil Mercenaries as a mage and tactician. Micaiah: I remember seeing you with Ike in those battles! Oh, but that's all behind us now... Soren: Actually, it was the war I wanted to talk to you about. Micaiah: Soren... I don't mean to be rude, but I think we have bigger things to focus on now. Soren: I just wanted to - Micaiah: Please, can it wait until after all of this is over? *Micaiah leaves* Soren: ...I guess I'll need to catch her later. -B- Micaiah: Oh, it's you again. Are you following me? Soren: I only wanted to ask you- Micaiah: Fine. What is it? Soren: I want to know how you did so well. Micaiah: I'm sorry? Soren: A young, unknown girl surfaces in Daein, and in less than a year defeats an entire Begnion army. Every battle was a resounding victory, with a ragtag force of untrained rebels against the Empire's elites. From what I hear, you've had no formal training in tactics or strategy. Micaiah: What? Soren: And even against the Apostle's Army, or against the Laguz Alliance that did so well against the Senator's, you produce victories from insuperable odds. If it hadn't been for the trap at the bridge at Oribes malfunctioning, we would never have even entered Daein. Micaiah: Malfunctioning? Soren: Well, I assume it malfunctioned, because otherwise you would have used it. Micaiah: ... Soren: I just wanted to know how you managed to lead your troops so effectively. Micaiah: Is that really what they all think? *Micaiah leaves* Soren: Why did she leave? I was praising her! I guess Ike was right about my social skills... -A- Micaiah: I guess it doesn't matter really. Even if they all think the worst of me, we still have more important things to worry about. Soren: Micaiah? Micaiah: Oh, Soren! You shouldn't sneak up on me like that! Soren: I just wanted to see how you were. After you stormed out like that... Micaiah: Huh, you really don't get it, do you Soren? Soren: What? Micaiah: The bridge at Oribes - the reason I didn't want to use the trap was because I didn't want to throw my soldier's lives away! Soren: I don't understand. Micaiah: Soren, I'm not proud of my 'victories'! Every time we fight... more people die. And even if I win, all that means is that those who die are people of Crimea or Begnion or Gallia instead of people of Daein! Soren: But... Micaiah: I had to make horrible choices in the war, Soren. I... don't want to be reminded of all the people I killed. Or all the people I am killing by continuing on this path. But I know that at the end of this, there will be peace for Daein, and all the people of Tellius... so I must continue. Please, Soren, don't make it any harder for me. Soren: I'm... sorry, Micaiah. Micaiah: I know. *Micaiah leaves* Soren: Bah. Not destroying the bridge... how can someone be so stupid?
  14. Baloth Woodcrasher... ....wtf I guess these ridiculous cards are more common than I thought. Then again the last time I played magic was Ravnica, so maybe Wizards just started cards that are ballin out of control. Ravnica was a fairly underpowered block, and the power level of Magic cards has been steadily increasing over the years. I don't really mind - more powerful cards are more fun to play with!
  15. Layering rules state that static abilities take priority over triggered abilities, so casting Fiona would not cause you to lose the game.
  16. Blue is generally the only color outside of white to get flying from what I know. isn't a lot since Magic isn't my main game. Everyone can get flying other than green. White gets Angels and a certain number of Birds, Blue gets Birds, Sphinxes, Faeries and Levitation, Red gets Dragons, and Black gets Demons and Vampires.
  17. A lord with awful promotion times, awful stat caps, poor movement, the weakest weapon type in the game and the worst speed relative to enemies of any lord, ever, with awful durability, no good innate skills, and is one of the only lords to not get her own endgame PRF weapon. And somehow Micaiah still managed to be good.
  18. Rafiel isn't a Time Walk, he's a infinite use Waves of Aggression. http://beta.gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=158107
  19. I'd drop Eddie for a generic enemy Myrm or SM in a heartbeat. Generic enemy Myrms lose to Edward in every single area except defense (which they win by like, 1 point at most), which is cancelled out by Edward's Light affinity. SMs do the same, and 3rd tier SMs are getting curbstomped by him. As for PoR Mia and Zihark, they aren't very dodgy earlygame either. Base Mia has 32avo (same as Edward), base Zihark has 36 (more than Edward, but Edward is 6 levels lower and beats Zihark in every growth except lolmagic). When so many enemies are using Lances, that's very unreliable. In lategame, they dodge quite well, but this is more to do with lategame enemies having fail hit.
  20. Most Hyped: FE10 Haar. Least Hyped: FE8 Syrene. Seriously, I have NEVER seen someone make any claim whatsoever for her being good, or seen someone ever try to defend her in any kind of debate or tier list.
  21. Considering ANYONE is above MOTHERFUCKING DANVED, this is obviously a joke topic. After all, he fights with the strength of TEN MEN.
  22. Hmm, even so, she'd be looking at 125AVO, which is pretty crazy. And she can always sit on a thicket, or BEXP up her SPD/LUK so she can maintain that avo in low bio (lolol350% avoid growth). And she can have her support partner take Guard, so that if she does get hit, she won't get blicked. And I was thinking having her use sacrifice on someone, although getting thwacked by a kitty would do as well. Although given how the Laguz weapon ranks are gonna change, she may be able to survive one of the weaker tiggers.
  23. Micaiah seems fairly powerful, since you have cards that do what she does, only at a higher price, and only once (Loxodon Hierarch, Dauntless Escort). And you could pull off some mean combos with her (Mogg Fanatic, Skirk Prospector, Time Sieve). I could see her ability as more of a: (T), put a -1/-1 counter on Micaiah: Regenerate target creature. It would require Mickey to have 2 toughness anyway, but 2 toughness is pretty goddamn low anyway in Magic so w/ever. And it's more of a green/black ability to my ears than a white ability, but don't get too hung up on mtg conventions about colour. Eddie looks pretty cool. Double strike fits very well with myrms. Leo looks a bit silly as a blue creature. UUU for a double striking 2/1 is pretty ugly (since mono-blue tends not to care about creatures that don't have evasion), so you may want to take out the Lugh ability. Also, it's probably worth pointing out that 'when X enters the battlefield, you may pay Y and do Z' has a name - kicker. And it's 'when X enters the ...', NOT 'whenever X enters the...'. So Nolan makes enemies lose Static and Activated... but not Triggered abilities? Like a weaker version of Humility. I get that Laura is supposed to be a joke, but it's worth pointing out that if she didn't have that second ability, she'd be crazy overpowered. catastrophe_2 pointed out that healers are garbage in competitive, but that's more to do with old healers being crazy overcosted for what they actually did (almost nothing), and Wizards are deliberately trying to phase them out since they've realised how bad they are (a few still get printed, but generally they do things other than heal). lolol Sothe is sooooo overpowered. 8 points of power for 6 mana? On a double striking creature? That lets me draw cards? Also, the wording of Sothe's third ability is off. It's not 'you may do this only once a turn', it's 'you may play this ability once per turn'. Man, Ilyana is great in this. 2/2 Shroud/Evasion for 3 mana? YES PLEASE. Oh, and I think this is all pretty cool. I get how you're trying to make the colours of cards fit their affinities, but don't bother, since you'll end up with almost identical cards with opposite affinities.
