However most of the things I hated about him (being a good hand-to-hand fighter, excellent strategist, good pilot, diplomat and banging the redhead etc), ain't the ones that make him a bad character, per se. Kircheis is an even better strategist and fights against Schenko to a tie, so he's more capable than pretty much everyone in that aspect What I feel about Julian is that he has no character faults AT ALL, and that when COMBINED to the fact he's awesome at everything he does is what makes him so annoying. Kircheis at least was TOO GOOD for his own sake and that was exploited better. Julian has a couple of anger issues but that isn't explored at all. He wouldn't be as bad if they knew what to do with him. They could have someone in the FPA that is good in pretty much all areas without making him being annoying.
