Well, since they have 1-2 range weapons, it's a matter of placing a decoy with enough Def/Res. Or two in case you can't have 1 unit do that job. Reminds me of those other bosses from previous games that there would be zilch for them if they happened to still be alive when a chapter ended... Since he had been in contact with Aversa, I could see him reappearing as an enemy somewhere on Ch's 21 to 25. Though since he also seems to want to live through the whole thing, I'd see just escaping from Valm Castle and just be gone from the story altogether.
