With a couple of exceptions, this site's tier lists apply to the entire game in question. A tier list can rank the characters on any set of criteria, but all of the serious ones either rank according to what's called 'efficiency' (how much a character can cut down the number of turns used in completing the game) or utility in maximizing the in-game rankings. A lot of debate and energy has gone into ensuring that the lists are accurate within the parameters they set. But none of them really know what they're talking about. Lilina for top tier! A tier list DISCUSSION can give you quite a few valuable and interesting insights into the game. A few things can even be gleaned directly from the list itself. Karel is better than Karla? Well now Karla has a starting skill of 30, and she has the thief's steal ability so, now what, bastard? She's more useful, and she'll critical you with an iron sword if you let'er Edits are fun... surprisingly, my version is still hard to beat, because magic users are infi-casters, and bows have sick range.
