Tables
It's looking interesting now. I'm hating the lack of Lib Dem progress. They seem to be losing seats they were hoping to gain, like Guildford, and it's weird having Labour winning 28-14 right now but being said to have lost the election :P

This provides a good image of how things are going so far. Labour are down by 2 compared to the last elections, while Tories are up by 2. I believe the first exit polls are very incorrect. Raven
56 seats remaining, and Conservatives need 41 of those to take Parliament. Looks like this is definitely going to be a hung parliament. Edited May 7, 2010 by Raven
Tables
Yep. Which isn't too bad, better than David Cameron PM.
NinjaMonkey
You do realise that the Lib Dems and Conservatives are in talks for a coalition government, right? So there's a chance he will be PM.
Tables
Yeah, but not when I made that post. In all honesty, I prefer Labour to Conservative, but I'm not overly bothered who they form a Coalition with, if they do. Also, my local seat swung further towards the Tories . They got over 30K to less than 14K Lib Dem.
Parrhesia
Sinn Fein got two more seats, I believe And yeah, LD lost five (possibly more or less by now) seats but are far more powerful than before.
Raven
Well at least my areas Pontypridd and Ogmore are mainly Labour supporters, but there was still some swing towards the Tories. The way things are at the moment, a vote for LibDem is a vote for the Tories, so the most sensible method to keep the Tories out of leading us is to vote Labour, in the event of a re-election. I think LibDem have dug themselves a grave by considering this coalition with Conservatives as opposed to Labour. Gordon Brown is still the PM, so still has overall power over everything that happens.

Mikethfc
The coalition wont last long I'm just hoping the Lib Dems can get PR through in that time
Tables
They won't. Of all the things Conservatives will oppose, that's the biggest one. If that went through, Conservatives lose about 100 seats and Lib Dems gain about 100. With that, they'd never have a majority again.
Zkirsche
vote a smaller party for no real benefit at all. Sums up our current system. With proportional representation, Lib dems would have ~150 seats. Without it they have 61. The current system is way too biased to the major parties, imagine where those 90 seats would have come from - conservative and labour seats mostly. They would have a lot more power, and considering that 25% of the public voted for them this year, that's fair enougth. But that might hurt David Cameron's feelings. After all, he is perfect in every way. Edited May 10, 2010 by The Syobon
Mikethfc
vote a smaller party for no real benefit at all. Pretty much sums up Brighton Pavillion 61 people voted for the party: Citizens for the Rights and Equality of the Undead
Mikethfc
Monster Raving Loony Party. I wanted them to get a few seats just to see if they try and pass any of the policies on their manifesto particularly the one regarding hovercrafts and eels
Balcerzak
Pretty much sums up Brighton Pavillion 61 people voted for the party: Citizens for the Rights and Equality of the Undead Are you suggesting that the Vitally Challenged don't deserved equal representation? To actually contribute on a serious note, proportional representation, while perhaps flawed in its own ways, solves some of the key problems in a first-past-the-post system. I'm honestly not sure if it's the best option though.
Raven
This song may represent what it would be like under Conservative (Tory) leadership, in my opinion: All the right friends in all the wrong places So yeah, we're going down They got all the right moves in all the right faces So yeah, we're going down Just paint the picture of a perfect place They got it better than what anyone's told you They'll be the King of Hearts, and you're the Queen of Spades Then we'll fight for you like we were your soldiers I know we've got it good But they got it made And the grass is getting greener each day I know things are looking up But soon they'll take us down, before anybody's knowing our name. They got all the right friends in all the wrong places So yeah, we're going down We've got all the right moves and all the wrong faces So yeah, we're going down They said, everybody knows, everybody knows where we're going Yeah, we're going down They said, everybody knows, everybody knows where we're going Yeah, we're going down Do you think I'm special? Do you think I'm nice? Am I bright enough to shine in your spaces? Between the noise you hear And the sound you like Are we just sinking in an ocean of faces? It can be possible that rain can fall, Only when it's over our heads The sun is shining everyday, but it's far away Over the world is death. They got, They got, All the right friends in all the wrong places So yeah, we're going down They got, all the right moves and all the wrong faces So yeah, we're going down They said, everybody knows, everybody knows where we're going Yeah, we're going down They said, everybody knows, everybody knows where we're going Yeah, we're going down It don't matter what you see. I know I could never be Someone that'll look like you. It don't matter what you say, I know I could never face someone that could sound like you. All the right friends in all the wrong places So yeah, we're going down They got all the right moves and all the right faces So yeah, we're going down All the right friends in all the wrong places So yeah, we're going down They got all the right moves and all the right faces So yeah, we're going down They said, everybody knows, everybody knows where we're going Yeah, we're going down They said, everybody knows, everybody knows where we're going Yeah, we're going down. Yeah, we're going down. Yeah, we're going down.
