Thief
Echidna aside, I thought Jugdral had a couple of female sword fighters who went on to become hero equivalents? Of course, chances are Seisen's are all but forgotten, due to the obvious obsession with Ayra and her daughter. 6 page blow-out? Hope to see them all soon. Athena (and hopefully the other additions) coming back is looking exceptionally good, and the BS FEs getting remade is simply golden. dondon151
As fun as it would be to have a female merc, I just don't see it happening. I don't think there has been a single female merc in all of the main FEs so I don't see them adding one now. However, if they did it would be awesome! FE5 Machua promotes into mercenary. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the next issue also contains a 84 page mini booklet with artwork from the 12 games. Tomorrow should be interesting : )
grandjackal
While we're waiting for the issue to come out (apparently it's a 6 page blow out), here's Athena as promised. Dammit, I'm hyped as it is, and I even got Mortal Kombat 9 to be excited about... Image courteously provided by Tactician Vog. I would say that now we know when she's recruited (the ice portions), but I see the Guide button on it, so I'm assuming it's viewed through an option like FEDS. Does that mean the backround is random, or does this simply tell us that Athena's recruited in the dragon valley? Marked spoiler because some new guys reading this might not want to know what the dragon valley is quite yet.

deuxhero
The L Guide thing is in every conversation scene. And I'm going to guess it's the same thing as the z-guide in 9 and 10.
VincentASM
Not quite, the L Guide gives info on character relationships and the countries. I'm guessing the dialogue history will still be in this game (probably on the R button like in FE DS).

Although I am interested in what the 6 pages will be about, considering we only have a snippet.
VincentASM
Another scan BS FEs confirmed, full body artwork of Luke, Rody, Sirius and Malice, and portraits for Lang and Malliesia. Dr. Tarrasque
I see they fixed Lang so he doesn't look like a Jiol clone with less hair. Mallesia's hair blue now? I'm curious to see who else's hair they dyed. BTW VASM, you have the Lang and Jiol sprites mismatched in the original Mystery of the Emblem character introductions page. This is Jiol: This is Lang Edited June 21, 2010 by Speedwagon
VincentASM
Oops, fixed : P Also, you might want to edit your post since I swapped the image files around
MizuJosh
From the looks of it, Malice will be a swordmaster. Those clothes just don't seem right for a mercenary/hero.
Rewjeo
And her sword has the classic shape for a SM. Although it is significantly bigger.
MizuJosh
And her sword has the classic shape for a SM. Although it is significantly bigger. However, it's still thin and reminiscent of a sword such as the Mani Katti or Wo Dao.

Icon of Sin
Say. Does anybody else care what happens to Frost the Bishop, Dice the Fighter, Raiden and Belf the cav duo (why isnt Belf named Snake?), and Robert the Horseman (no, not THAT Robert the Horseman from FE5...) Also...Vincent, any chance you could get shots of the faces from BSFE exclusive guys (And characters who got a different portrait, like Nabarl) that's really the only thing I'm interested in about BSFE, but my BSFE "cartridges" don't work. You pretty much have the mugs here : http://www.fireemblemwod.net/bsfe.htm Also an interesting tidbit is that Dice is supposedly Malice's father, as seen in the translations that are around here somewhere, so he might just be available, which is nice because he looks badass. grandjackal
I like how they made Rody look a little more older. I like how they made Luke and Roddy look like the classiest guys on earth. Seriously, are longcoats part of the new standard for Altea cavalry armor? Are they royals? Are they just a couple of wild and crazy guys? Are they dirty rotten scoundrels? Least I can see is that Luke sort of looks like a jerk. Why show them and not Cecile? This artwork is good, and they must show moar! DavidAndGoliath
And her sword has the classic shape for a SM. Although it is significantly bigger. I think the fact that the sword is so big allows for her to be a merc. With a sword that long I certainly can't see a Swordmaster animation working out. I still have my fingers crossed. Ike-Mike
Rody's face totally looks like something I'd have drawn. That nose, that side parting, the way he has his head tilted to the right while his eyes face to the front ... I am totally enamored with his artwork! This would also make the first time a Satellaview game gets rereleased, right? Edited June 21, 2010 by Ike-Mike

Renall
FE5 Machua promotes into mercenary. Confusingly, there are Swordfighters and Axefighters in FE5, but they promote totally differently. Happens a lot actually now that I think on it: Both Axefighters and Machua become Mercs/Heroes, Trewd and Mareeta become Swordmasters. One mage (Asvel) promotes to Sage, another (Miranda) promotes to Mage Knight. Promotions are set by character rather than class in FE4/5.You can make Ardan an Emperor who promotes to a Soldier in 4, if you hack it right.
