Alex345 Posted July 21, 2010 Share Posted July 21, 2010 So what can nondrafted characters do w/o a penalty? I know they can recruit other characters, but what else? I'm assuming they can trade items. But can they meatshield? I'm assuming they can because enemies need to attack them so the unit can die because of the gaiden chapters. I'm not sure if I got an answer for this before. Also, what's the turn penalty for using characters in general (say I deploy Caeda in Chapter 11 to recruit jake, has an iron lance equipped, and gets attacked by a cav)? And are the turn penalties different than the ones that are forced for that chapter (say I attack using Cord in chapter 2)? Psych Posted July 21, 2010 Author Share Posted July 21, 2010 Yes, it does. So don't use Ogma the first 3 chapters if you don't recruit him. But it's only 4 turns that whole chapter. So you can use him once and get the penalty, or clear the map and get the penalty. It's 4 turns for every character you didn't draft that you used. You could take maybe Norne, Castor, or Palla, and keep them from getting any kills then reclass them to magic. It might work. You really do need a healer that's not Jaigen.
