Fayt Zelpher
I've seen too many interesting playlogs fall to the poster thinking nobody cares about it. So, I'm casually following this. And it's well written. Thank you on both fronts. I'll be doing some more of this playthrough later today, I think.
Thor Odinson
Alternatively, you could just chuck magic/bows/javelins at Mannu since he can't two-range. I killed him with Abel with his +4 MT Javelin forge on my runs.
Fayt Zelpher
Alternatively, you could just chuck magic/bows/javelins at Mannu since he can't two-range. I killed him with Abel with his +4 MT Javelin forge on my runs. That's basically what I did. Throw every 2 range weapon user at him to drain his firestone (dragonstones consume uses regardless if the manakete attacks or not). However, I had Marth Wyrmslay his face off before the firestone broke. Speaking of manaketes, the boss of chapter 11 is another one. And this time, he moves too... :( Oh bother. Thankfully, Lena has the physic staff on hand, so hopefully I can kill him before he kills me. Other than that, the chapter isn't too bad. Minerva took out the mercenaries at the bottom of the map while Ogma is doing a fine job of tanking/dodgetanking the ballistae. His defensive stats are 33 HP / 10 Defense, which means that he can take three or four hits before dying. And there are plenty of forts to help his dodging ability. Warped Caeda to Jake to recruit him. Now, on to kill the boss. Could avoid doing so, but I feel like dragon killing today. And taking that beautiful energy drop off his hands. Fayt Zelpher
Chapter 11 boss? Just get Promoted!Caeda to recruit Jake, kill the other ballistas, and youre set if the Horseman and Sniper are gone. Nah. Ogma basically sliced him in two. Besides, I wanted that energy drop. :D EDIT: Chapter 12. Pretty easy, all things considered. Warped Wolf to take out the snipers attacking the prisoner squad. Made sure that the mage only attacked the bishop prisoner, so as to give me more turns to rescue them without any of them dying. Took care of the thieves early. Caeda, Barst, and Ogma continued to rape face as usual, and the paladin boss died pretty easily to Caeda's wing spear. The hardest part was taking out the cavalier and horseman reinforcements before they took my units out. Ended up needed Barst, Wolf, and Minerva to do this, with the occasional Marth or Merric pick off. Also, Lena promoted. Marth got a lot of treasure chests here. Also bought some killing edges at the shop in this chapter. Dark Sage
Hey awesome! Someone on here who plays this on H2 too. Aiming for efficiency as you can tell in my sig. My characters suck though. They get RNG screwed in someway, except for Cord. Anyway, it gets a little harder later on to be efficient. Debating on whether or not to get Nagi though. And I didn't recruit Jake because I forgot about warping Caeda to get him since if she tries to move in his range, she gets killed by him. Anyway I never use him anyway. And if I decide not to kill off Chiki, I might revive Doga, and that's it. The others that died were either underleveled (like Beck), or they were just bad anyway, like Wendell (who at that time was good, but would be bad if I resurrected him). Thor Odinson
If a fully trained Hero!Sedgar can almost lose in the arena, you know you're screwed. I threw him in one chapter for some extra cash on H5, since I was running low on my Javelin supply. He nearly died. Thank god for crits. H2 isn't as bad, but it's pretty bad too. Look for low bids. Beck got three or four kills here. Thunderbolts = very nice weapons. So, yeah. Couldn't use Caeda much because of the Arrowspates... :( Minerva thankfully had the range to fly in and kill them without getting in their range. :) Warped Beck so he could thunderbolt the boss, who died since he was slightly weakened by Wolf/Ogma. Smiley Jim
IDK about you, but I didn't have too many troubles with this chapter. My strategy was simple: I had Cain and Ogma bumrush the two shooters at the top of the map, Abel and Minerva would take out the bottom screen shooters, and Marth, Draug, Nabarl, and Midia go take the center path. The plan was to destroy the topmost and bottomost shooters, while Marth recruits Beck and Doga lures in Astram(I had to equip a bow here since Doga has 18 AS and ORKO's Astram if he equipped a lance). After I destroyed the shooters to the north and south of me and recruited Astria, I removed the ballistas in the center path, and around the boss(I had to use Doga because he had 27 def at the time and everyone else had half that), then charged towards the boss(using Marth, Cain, Abel, Nabarl, and Ogma). After 50 turns of boss abuse, I got tired and had Ogma kill the boss(with a steel axe). My party: Marth(Lv15 lord), Shiida(Lv12 peg), Draug(Lv6 gen), Ogma(Lv2 Hero), Minerva(Lv3 DK) Cain(Lv14 cav), Abel(Lv14 cav), Nabarl(Lv16 cav), Lena(Lv3 sage), Merric(Lv18 mage), Beck(Lv1 Shooter) Guests: Midia(Lv1 pally), Astram(Lv1 hero) Edited August 4, 2010 by DA125
Fayt Zelpher
Wee! Chapter 14 isn't really that bad. Well, except for dealing with the non-Palla/Catria pegasus knights, that is... Marth heads for the village. Beck, who I'm actually using, picked off some enemies as well. Ogma (who's about to promote) and Wolf continue to be the workhorses here, getting even more kills. Marth is doing fairly well too. Lena has promoted as of chapter 13, which I should have added back then, but forgot. Also, Linde's Aura tome is extremely amazing, and I can't wait to get Hammerne so I can repair Merric's (1 use left) Excalibur for more fun. I really can't wait. Used Lena to take out some snipers. Beck killed the fortify curate. As for the thieves, I had Minerva and Caeda charge down there to take them out before they stole the goods. Got Catria and Palla, who did a whole lot of nothing this chapter. Merric and Linde got some kills for a couple of extra levels here. As for the sniper guarding the treasure, I warped Ogma over there after taking out the boss to cut him to pieces. Barst hammers the knights guarding the throne room. Linde weakens Jiol down to 27 HP, and Caeda impales him with the wing spear to finish the job. Not too bad, except for those pegasus reinforcements... Got the Silver Card and the bullion after KO'ing the boss. Fayt Zelpher
WHAT oh well, Palla's a fair alternative. I mean, I already have Minerva and Caeda here. Not like a third and fourth flier is particularly necessary. Of course, I'll probably reclass Caeda to paladin after promotion so she can rape snipers and gain strength (since her strength is pathetic and snipers easily OHKO her. EDIT: Chapter 15. Lena with Pure Water is able to completely negate an Imhullu attack. I'm using her to block Gharnef from attacking my other units. Oh, and she's got decent avoid rates against the dark magic as well. Can't wait to use her to kill Gharnef in a few chapters' time. Also, Desert + Dracoknights =/= fun. Good thing I've got some fliers. It helped a little bit, but losing WTA meant he was less durable. Ogma continues to be awesome. Chapter 16: Really pretty easy, all things considered. Ogma, Wolf, Caeda, Minerva, and Lena are all doing really well. Ogma, Minerva, Merric, and Beck took out the dragonknights that charged the starting position. Beck then took out the two heroes guarding Xane.... The rest of my party went around toward the boss and the castle. Wolf, Ogma, and Caeda stayed back with Lena to take out the reinforcement units. Caeda got a battle in the arena as well, so I picked up a bit of gold there. Marth got a few more kills in as well. Really a pretty easy battle, all things considered. Beck actually did surprisingly well again here, despite how pathetic the accuracy of Stonehoist is. Spent a long time here because I wanted to get the treasures, which required Marth since I was out of Master Keys and forgot to bring a thief. I deserve Multiple facepalms for that. ... Even Ogma has only 22 speed, keeping him from the double. :( Time to continue this stupidly long post (since no one can be bothered to respond). Chapter 18. Easy. Really easy. Really, really easy. Ogma 2HKO's and doubles everything. Plus, it's all cavalry here, making it the perfect EXP farm for Palla and her Ridersbane, along with Barst and his Poleax (secret shop in the last chapter). Merric and Linde got more kills. Caeda fought a few battles in the arena and promoted. I'm reclassing her to Paladin now. Caeda easily skewered the boss with the Wing Spear. They're the same on every mode and easily accessible elsewhere. Chapter 20. Continuing this extremely long post since I can't double post and no one has bothered to say anything... :( This chapter was rather difficult. Thankfully, I had some thunderbolts with Beck, and he was able to pick off the other ballasticians without too much trouble. Minerva hammered the generals near the start across the river. Caeda, Ogma, and Wolf too on the paladins that charged my starting location. Not much else I can think to add. Beck sniped some more damage, Tiki took on some of the reinforcement units, and Cain and Julian sat on some forts to prevent new ones. Caeda recruited Lorenz. She later killed Camus with the Wing Spear and took Gradivus. Fayt Zelpher
I remember Chapter 20. I ended up having Abel solo the middle with a couple Javelins and Vulneraries. 20 wasn't bad at all. 21, on the other hand, was a ROYAL PAIN IN THE BUTT! Paladins and Dracoknights have 10 movement in this game, which means that they have incredible range. Oh, and since I have some fragile units, it's very hard to avoid getting them killed. Thankfully, I found a way. Reclassed Wolf to General before this chapter. Merric, Ogma, and Caeda start on the left (Caeda farthest toward the middle). Barst and Beck on the right, making sure that Beck had an Arrowspate ballista to severely weaken the dracoknights. Wolf and Tiki charged foward to attract the Generals. Caeda moved in from the right. Then, the next turn, I was able to take out the generals and one of the paladins. Meanwhile, my units on the flanks took out the side Dracoknights. After the second wave of paladins came into position, I quickly took them out, and then had Caeda (paladin) Wing Spear the boss dead in one hit, thus preventing any reinforcements from showing up. After the main fight was over, Minerva casually flew over to buy all the statboosters (which, as of chapter 22, have not been used). It should be noted that she has both the VIP card and the Silver Card. Chapter 21 Boss Stats. The fact that she's got 17 strength doesn't hurt either, along with 25 Spd and luck. Heck, she can DODGE sometimes! Basically, all the enemies ended up charging straight into Caeda's spear. or Ogma's sword. Or Wolf's Axe/Sword. And Merric and Linde are doing really nicely too, and are close to promotion. :) Barst finally made it to level 20, and used a Seal as well. Marth got Starlight. Thor Odinson
Oh god, CH21. It was okay on H2 for me, but on H5... what a nightmare. You should have an arms scroll, right? Next chapter: Barrier Spam. DO IT. Swarm Bishops are quite annoying as you're trying to get up that narrow passage way. If you promote Merric and Linde during the chapter they can level pretty quickly while Lena laughs at everything (besides the Hero and the Sniper if you accidentally put her in their range) and rapes through the chapter.
