Vampire Elf
She looks uber awkward, her torso is like, a triangle.
eCut
I agree with Vamp, the torso is a bit triangular. I see what you were trying to do though. Some things that I think will help are: - Make the skirt a little longer and bigger. Right now it looks like it is cutting off circulation. - The bandana needs to be bit smaller, it makes her head look too large. - Make the right side(>) of her body a pixel longer. Good work thus far. :)
Ken Zomg
Thanks again! EDIT: Edited arms. :) Edited December 5, 2010 by Ken Zomg
eCut
Yep! Maybe making the arm a pixel larger downwards? They seem a bit skinny.

Nanami Touko
That's... A pretty awesome battle sprite. Now, make an animation, and I'll be blown away.
Ken Zomg
I tried to animate it, but pixel animation is so much @#$%ing different from non-pixel animation. One pixel's distance out of place can make anything way bigger or smaller than it should be. Dammit, spriting's haaard ughh Watch me rant about my ineptitude at spriting No tutorial can fix that Dammit why is there so much precision involved But the Sprites section is where the views are, so what can you do? AstraLunaSol
orly Also, I would recommend that you don't go to FC's until you get splicing down like a pro/well.
Ken Zomg
orly Also, I would recommend that you don't go to FC's until you get splicing down like a pro/well. Splicing's not as hard as customs I used that tutorial but it didn't help much. It doesn't tell you how to get a nice smooth shape down. So my sprites, whenever I tried to add any custom whatsoever, looked jagged in those areas. also I quit mug spriting Edited December 21, 2010 by Ken Zomg
AstraLunaSol
Use the curve tool, it's on MSpaint. These days I just sketch then remove pixels to get the right shape. Like this
Ken Zomg
Thanks for trying to help, but I don't think I'll ever be that good. Spriting doesn't match my art style, and it's time I stopped pretending it does. Just kidding, I was practicing writing. But don't get me started on shading... But still, you guys have my respect for mastering such a difficult art style.
Nanami Touko
Ken, no offense, but I really wouldn't say that splicing isn't hard with your level of splicing XD Heck, now that I've started doing customs, I find heavy splicing harder than it. Huh. I always thought of making customs as more difficult than splicing. That's kinda what I meant... :P
Nanami Touko
Naw, customing's pretty easy once you get into it. You can even use a tablet to do it 8D Well, I can. You can keep tryin' if you want. At least your drawings are awesome, yeah?
deleted35362
The thing is, some people have trouble actually putting parts together, and find it easier to just draw it because they got the hang of it. But I fail at both D:
