Have you ever eaten a rollmop herring?

5 hours ago, Hattusili I said:

Overall, are you orderly or chaotic?

Is it possible to be both? I'm orderly because I like things organised and tidy, and I make an effort to do so. But my life always ends up being utter chaos...

This question is probably gonna sound weird, but favorite scent?

I'm more often than not rational in situations, but sometimes (depending on the situation) I do let my emotions get the better of me.

Weirdest thing you've eaten?

v this question

I live in the countryside, but very near a city so I appreciate both. I think I'd want to always live in the country though.

I don't think I ever have. Is it any good?

And now I'm curious how that works, creating chaos with order...

Favorite history based or inspired video game you've played?

Same question you asked

Dunno, most of my favorite game series from childhood are still around.

I'd like to see a Paper Mario in the vein of the older games, if that counts.

Honestly, I haven't eaten anything really weird. I did eat baby sardines in Japan though which was kind of gross.

I tried it today and it's interesting to say the least. If you like raw vinegary fish then it's good.

It doesn't work at all. I'm an OCD walking disaster.

Hmm, probably one of the Total War games.

Not sure which one though. Rome and Medieval II are probably my favorites, but the original Medieval (though old) is up there as well (something about it just really draws me in; moreso than the other Total War games).

I want to say Rome because Roma invicta est.

Huh, well, it's probably not my thing then, but I'm always open to trying new things.

Hmm, now I wonder if you're like my sister or a yet different case...

I recall you saying that New Mystery brings back Shadow Dragon characters that weren't in Mystery book 2, even when bringing them back doesn't make sense.

For which characters do you think it didn't make sense to bring them back?

No, but I've heard nice things about it.

I meant it less as bringing the characters back bade no sense and more as how or where they were included makes little sense.

The biggest example is Darros randomly becoming a barbarian along Anri's way, Jake for some reason moving to the Marmotord desert, or Beck being near the Ice Dragon shrine.

Nope.

Well, I agree with you on that. I was fine with Jake, but Beck made no sense, and neither did the Sable Knights (no offense to you, Robert).

And then there were the characters whom I felt did make sense, but were forced (Malice, Dice, Frost).

What do you think of the emperor Domitian?

5 minutes ago, Hattusili I said:

Keeping in mind that:

  1. Most of my knowledge of Roman history come from the History of Rome podcast, and
  2. Of that I've only listened up to the reign of Trajan

I think I'd have to say Claudius.

No. I have a very... particular... palette, and I tend to prefer to stick with foods that I already know.

I like both in their own ways (I've only played 6 and up mind), but I do prefer older games over Awakening/Fates.

Domitian is actually one of my biases!

He was a very interesting figure whose rule changed the position of the Emperor in the Roman government forever. He was far more authoritative than his predecessors and while that authoritativeness was not continued by his successors, the Emperor would forever afterward be the ruler of the state, not the first among equals.

I think Domitian was a pretty good Emperor overall, but he made some errors of judgement and was a bit too authoritative for my tastes.

(I also attribute the Lex Regia to him, but that's legal technicalities.)

And don't worry, Claudius I is a good choice.
