dondon151
Recall when these words were uttered: A fun challenge and I'd invite you to try it and do better than what I did. Disclaimer: this is not intended to offend Dio in any way. The rules: - Obviously, all units have 0% stat growths, including movement - Ignore movement stars unless absolutely necessary - Scrolls do not provide growth bonuses - Elite mode (this is for the sake of my sanity) The run is complete! Integrity
And here I am struggling through the game proper WITH growths. Why do you always put me to shame, Your Holiness?
Psych
Safy, Salem, Tina. To a lesser extent, Nanna, Olwen, Asvel and Fin. There you go. I've just discovered dondon's strategy.
Icon of Sin
Disclaimer: this is not intended to offend Dio in any way. I don't feel insulted one bit anyway. I know you could do this better than me and, in a way, I was strongly awaiting you to try it. In fact, looking back at it, I really could've taken out the growths from the scrolls. I'll be watching your videos with great interest. I wish you the best of luck. Edited February 17, 2011 by Flying Spaghetti Monster
Silvercrow
Best of luck with this, definitely looking forward to seeing how this turns out.
dondon151
To a lesser extent, Nanna, Olwen, Asvel and Fin. Not recruiting Olwen =P Jaffar7 will be furious at the amount of RNG manipulation required. Edited February 17, 2011 by dondon151
Psych
Doesn't that hurt the SSS ranking? Since you need everyone? I know base Fred can clear out the top half. :P Daim Thunder would probably help with it's brave effect and her mount might let her capture some. dondon151
I'm going the front route and recruiting Eyrios. In all honesty he's probably slightly more useful due to better bases and instant access to Bolting (plus he joins with one). Psych
Oh pfft. I forgot about him. My Olwen favoritism does that. :P I'm gonna love watching Xavier's recruitment.
dondon151
Well, Eyrios will have 8-10 uses of Bolting to pick off the Freege armors, and the Lenster soldiers have Javelins and can be defeated through the wall. Screw the Member Card. That will make things a lot easier. (That said, I've never had to go through the pain of recruiting Xavier. This run will actually be the first time that I've gotten past chapter 15 in this game...) Edited February 17, 2011 by dondon151
Galenforcer
Wow, best of luck. Yeah, you're gonna need to RNG abuse like crazy to even last long enough.
Maou
This run will actually be the first time that I've gotten past chapter 15 in this game...) Whoa. Are you sure this is your favorite Fire Emblem? :P
Rodykitty
Whoa. Are you sure this is your favorite Fire Emblem? :P I'm not dondon, but I've only played up to C18 so far and I consider the portion I *did* play to be better than most FE's as a whole. FE5 doesn't really require you to finish the game to appreciate it.
chococoke
Dondon, no, stop. No more of this. Come on :(
Paperblade
I'm not dondon, but I've only played up to C18 so far and I consider the portion I *did* play to be better than most FE's as a whole. FE5 doesn't really require you to finish the game to appreciate it. As an addition to this, I've only beaten Thracia 776 once but I would consider it my favorite RPG period. dondon151
I just finished chapter 9, which is effectively 1/3 of the way through the run. Gomez has been conquered... and I should cruise along until chapter 14, which will be my next big obstacle. A turncount log has been edited into the OP. dondon151
The turncount log has been updated through chapter 13, which more or less marks the halfway point. Edited February 21, 2011 by dondon151
Colonel M
So just curious: are you planning to get the Negative Utility Tier Example that is Xavier?
dondon151
I will have to.
dondon151
Chapter 18 has been elegantly conquered. Well, not really elegantly. I could have planned it out better and maybe cut a turn or two off, but I'm satisfied with 14.
Mekkah
I could have planned it out better and maybe cut a turn or two off, but I'm satisfied with 14. Who are you and what have you done with dondon?
dondon151
Actually, I was talking in IRC about it last night to IOS and told him that I thought I could cut it down to about 11-12 with significantly better execution =P So I'm actually going to re-record it. EDIT: Got 12 turns this time. I highly doubt it is possible to go any faster without a significant amount of civilian rescue chain planning and some re-moves.
